Fuck

Looking back, Tony saw his mistake.

Telling Peter he could say fuck was not a good call, and that had been proved by another not-good-call from Peter's aunt, who, funnily enough, used the word several times herself during that call.

So, Tony had gone to confront Peter.

"Hey, kid, your aunt just called," he opened, sitting down next to Peter on his bed.

"Is she okay?" he asked concerned, sitting up immediately.

"Yes, definitely, she - she's entirely fine, Pete," Tony assured, placing a comforting hand on Peters back; "She mentioned you've been saying a new word."

"Which word?" he asked innocently.

"The one I said you could say," Tony admitted, hoping Peter would realise it on his own so he wouldn't have to swear in front of him after Mays call.

"Oh, you mean how you said I could say fuck since it's a wellknown word and denying its existence is ridiculous and only adds to the borders between generations as adults say it to each other and kid to each other, but for some reason avoids them when talking with people from the other group, which in result leads to higher seperation between family members and ensures that every party has to constantly consider their words, essentially silencing them? And how it's a natural development of the language and is used to punctuate and express strong opinions, which is helpful?" Peter repeated, making Tony take a deep breath.

"Yes, that one," he agreed slowly; "May mentioned you've been saying it."

"Yes, I fucking love it," Peter agreed happily.

"Well, I might have... Overspoken, when saying those things," Tony admitted; "You see, not everybody enjoys using that word."

"I thought you said that those people refuse to accept the development of our informal speech and is essentially the reason we don't feel free to express ourselves as we see fit, even though our opinions doesn't violate or offend anyone?"

"Well, I did," Tony admitted awkwardly; "But, I should have considered how my words affected people and made sure I didn't make anyone uncomfortable, okay?"

"Okay," Peter agreed, only a little sad.

"Okay, so no more swearing?" Tony checked.

"No more swearing," Peter agreed with a smile.

"FUCK! FUCKING SHIT, FUCK THAT HURTS," Tony cried, shaking his hand in an attempt to get rid of the feeling of fire.

"Mr Stark!" Peter cried, webbing an ice pack over to them and gently placing it on his hand; "What happened?"

"I just burned my hand a little, it's nothing," he promised, the ice pack immediately helping with the pain.

"Are you sure?" Peter asked worriedly, but his mentor just nodded reassuringly.

A few minutes passed before Peter spoke up.

"I thought we weren't allowed to swear?" he questioned curiously.

"Well, no, but, I was in pain, and it just slipped out," Tony admitted.

"Oh, okay," Peter accepted.

Tony went back to his laptop to continue, already feeling better from the small burn.

"Am I allowed to swear when I get hurt?" Peter then asked.

"You're not allowed to get hurt at all," Tony reminded him.

Peter kept looking at him with his big eyes, and Tony sighed.

"It doesn't sound nice, so you can't swear in public, but... Tell you what, when in the lab, you can swear as much as you want," he agreed, Peter immediately cheering up.

"That's fucking awesome!" Peter said happily, making Tony laugh.

"What happened, May, did he swear again?" Tony asked through the phone, holding it between his shoulder and his ear while making a sandwich.

"No, don't worry," she assured; "I was just calling to say that I have the afternoon free, so if you don't mind I can drop him off in about 15 minutes."

"Yeah, that's great!" Tony replied, taking another two pieces of bread up from the bag; "You can just come on up when you get here."

"And, and, and then we put a cooler in it with water because we figured that would be a better solution in the long run beca-"

"Tony, hi!" May interrupted Peter, who had been talking nonstop since they left home.

"Hey, May. Always good to see you," Tony greeted pleasantly; "Pete, there's a sandwich for you in the kitchen."

Peter quickly left for the kitchen, and May turned to Tony.

"He hasn't stopped talking about that... Whatever it is you're building," she said with a smile; "He's so excited about it."

"Yeah, it's going to be pretty cool once it's done," Tony agreed; "If you want you can come see. If you have time and want to, of course. It'd make Peter happy."

Peter came back into the room, a plate in his hand and practically half a sandwich in his mouth.

"Hey, Pete. Tony was just suggesting I come down to see your lab," May told, making Peter make a little jump before running towards the lab, already explaining it again.

"And so this is the fucking awesome lab-" Peter told, opening the door; "This is where we do fucking cool science!"

May immediately looked to Tony.

"You were supposed to talk to him!" she complained angrily.

"I did! Peter, didn't we talk about that word?" Tony scolded, making Peter look at him confused.

"You said I could swear when I'm in the lab doing science shit," he reminded Tony.

"You are a piece of work, Tony Stark," May stated, turning on her heel and leaving the lab.

"Did I fuck up?" Peter asked confused.

"No, you - I'll be right back," Tony promised, going after May.

"May! I'm sorry," he told her, making her stop in the hallway.

"You said you'd talk to him!" she hissed.

"I did! But then I got hurt and I accidentally swore and I told him he could swear in the lab," he admitted.

"That's great, now I have to talk to him again," she told, sighing deeply.

"No, no, I'll do it," he assured. She looked at him in disbelief.

"Oh yeah, because it went so great the last time?" she asked.

"Just, give me a chance to talk to him, okay? He's a good kid, he would never do something wrong intentionally," Tony argued, making May take a deep breath.

"You're right about that," she admitted; "One chance to talk to him. If I hear him swear again-"

"He won't!" Tony promised.

"Okay. I'll pick him up tomorrow after work, okay? Make sure he does his homework," she reminded before taking off, letting Tony go back to the lab.

"What the fuck was that?" Peter asked concerned when he got back.

"I... Remember how I said swearing was just in the lab?"

Peter nodded enthusiastically.

"How about we say just in the lab, and just when it's the two of us," he added. Peter looked thoughtful, but nodded again.

"Okay. Okay, good. Wouldn't want to upset Aunt May," he mentioned.

"Can we get back to work?" Peter asked hopefully.

"Did you do your homework?" Tony replied.

"No?"

"Mhh... Fine, a little work, then homework, okay?" Tony tried reasoning, but Peter looked sad, and he couldn't handle that.

"Does it say anywhere that you have to come up with the answers to your homework?" Tony sighed, making Peter shake his head.

"Then it's not technically cheating if I give you the answers," Tony argued; "Lets get to work, okay?"
