And they were roommates - part 3
"Hey, Pete, good that you're here, dinner's ready in..."
Bruce's voice silenced when he noticed the teary kid, still sniffling.
"What's, eh, what's going on?"
"It's May," Tony admitted; "She, uhm, there, she-"
"She died," Peter interrupted.
"What?" Bruce asked in disbelief.
"Kid, hey, why don't you, why don't you go check out your room? I did some work on your suit, it should be in there," Tony offered gently, nudging Peter's shoulder with his hand.
Peter didn't seem like he actually cared, but nonetheless left Tony and Bruce.
"Tony, what's going on?" Bruce demanded, looking after Peter.
"May died. Car crash," Tony stated briefly, blinking quickly.
"What? Oh god, May, I don't believe it," Bruce stated, running a hand through his hair; "God, Tony, I'm so sorry."
"Yeah."
"And poor Peter! This probably isn't the worst place to stay, but it'll never beat living with May," Bruce went on.
"He won't be staying here," Tony commented.
"What? Why not?"
"Because apparently, May had a lawyer, and apparently, a boyfriend she thought Peter would be better off living with," Tony stated, passing Bruce to get to the living room but bumping into Natasha.
"Hey, Stark, I just ran into Peter, what's up with him?"
"His aunt died, and if I have to tell one more person I'm going to kill myself, and Peter is way too young to take over Stark Industries now, so please gather everyone in the living room so I can tell them all at once," Tony told before continuing down the hallway, Natasha looking after him in shock.

"May's dead."
As Tony muttered those words, the room went silent.
"Car crash," he continued.
"Oh god," Bucky whispered quietly.
"I... Poor Peter," Steve just said, looking down.
"We'll make this work, guys," Clint decided, the dad in him taking over; "Peter's going to be dealing with this, so we'll take turns driving him to and from school and staying with him after so he won't be alone."
"Yeah, that's a good idea," Natasha agreed; "A psychologist, too."
"We could hang some pictures up of May, maybe having her around will help."
"Oh yeah, seeing his dead aunt and being reminded of her constantly, great idea," Natasha scoffed at Bucky's idea.
"Listen, I've tried losing people, shutting those feelings out won't do anything good," Bucky argued.
"Yeah, we've all lost people, even me, White Wolf, cue the violins," Natasha shot back.
"Many people have lost people because of you," Bucky retorted, looking directly at her.
"That is rich coming from you."
"Alright, alright, let's calm down," Steve suggested, lifting his hands.
"It doesn't matter anyway. Peter's not staying here," Tony stated.
"What? What do you mean?" Steve asked confusedly.
"He's going to be staying with Clark, May's boyfriend."
"Why?" Clint questioned.
"Beats me," Tony admitted, just a second before Peter entered.
People kept asking for a continuation so I decided to write a bit more about how the group took the news - hope it didn't disappoint.
