It's mem'ry that remains and can never be won.

No matter how much the new woman tries to erase the history you have shared with your ex, memories belong to the mind that made them. 

The new woman my partner had taken up with made her presence known in every possible way she could find. This included public posts on all social media platforms of them engaged in heavy petting in places all over the city that I thought of as our special spots filled with special memories. But as painful as this was, I realised she was insecure about his history with me and was doing her best to claim our special spots as her territory.
