~Nick's POV~

I... I don't know what just happened... One minute Ross was taking me outside to talk about my training I just did and the next?... I'm walking over to a bush and I pick Tommy up from it! At first he struggles, but then he says,

"Since when did you lift?" But then he just gives up and looks up at me. I glance down and he sees how worried I am. He realised that I wasn't doing this fully on my own terms. I look back up to doctor Ross and he follows my glance. I feel him instantly tense up. Ross looked at him. He was smiling, but it wasn't a kind and forgiving smile, it was one of pure craziness.

"If it isn't the little devil who burnt down his own house." He said Tommy and I were right in front of him. I dropped Tommy on the floor in front of Ross and as he was getting up, Ross put his foot on Tommy's back and shoved him back down. It seemed like he knew Tommy wasn't strong, but how? Tommy attempted to get up again but failed and said,

"And if it isn't the uncle who was never there for me when I needed him." Ross looked down at him condescendingly and chuckled.  He picked Tommy up and he screamed and kicked, and Ross commented on that.

"Scream and kick all you like brat." He said as he opened the door. I ran inside, terribly scared of what would happen if I stayed outside. He shut the door and headed for a certain room. I ran to mine and everyone else's room, but heard Ross saying to Tommy "Nobody's gonna save you." He opened the door to the lab that was next to the one he used on me. He dropped Tommy down and then shut the door. The other's see how shaky I am, but start drowning me in questions.

"What happened?"

"Are you OK?"

"What did Ross do?"

"Who was Ross just talking to?"

"I... I..... I don't know!" I burst out with tears, upset I couldn't answer everyone's questions Ashlie and Uni lean in to hug me back I quickly duck under and run out the door. I could hear Uni's yells from behind me.

"Nick! Come back! We're sorry!" I just ran down the hallway leading up to the attic and hide behind a crate. I faked it so it looked like I went the other way. I hear footsteps going the other way, just like I had hoped. I'm about to cry some more when I catch a slight glare, almost like a camera, from the corner of my eye. I look up to see Cory there. Instead calling the others he comes and sits next to me.

"Heh. You're very smart for your age, you know that, right Nick?"

I sniff. "If you really think so."

"I mean, I didn't learn that trick until a month of being here."

"Really?"

"Yeah!"

I smile and look up at him. "Thanks Cory. You may not be the best, but you're at least half decent." He chuckled and stood up.

"Thanks. That means a lot coming from you!" We both give a small, quiet giggle and then walk back down the stairs and sneak into our room to confuse the other two. We hear them yelling both our names now. They're about to come into the room and Cory signals to me to scare them when they come in. I silently giggle and nod.

"Ashlie, why are we checking here again? There's no way he sneaked past us." Me and Cory glance at each with wide smiles from across the room.

"It's best to at least check, OK Uni? You can never be too-"

"BOO!" I yelled as they walked in and I jumped down onto Uni's back. "Did I get 'cha?" Ashlie was on the floor crying, so Cory hopped down to calm her down and Uni was breathing heavily. They both ended up being OK so we sat down and had a chat for a bit.

Hey guys it's Izzy. Sorry I didn't post last week. Haven't been in the best of mind sets this last week. That's why you guys got another piece of art on my other book - drawing is my go to safe space. Sorry again. I'll try to get another chapter out by Saturday and possibly Sunday too to make up for it. I don't think I can express how sorry I am through text. See you guys when I next post. Sorry this little N/A bit is so long.
