The growls from the experiments never fazed Officer Gutierrez as they made their way to the main entrance. They spent years working with the experiments after they ran away from their family, who didn't support them after they came out as nonbinary. Their name was once River, but they changed it to Sammy since they wanted to leave their family entirely, so taking away the name their 'family' gave them made them feel like they had control over their life.

As they walked the hallway, the guard wondered what the lead scientist Dr.Wu wanted to talk about since they only escorted the experiments back to their enclosures. She may stop to talk to experiment Y-47 (Yaz can understand human speech but can't speak it), but that was it.

She made her way to the main entrance, seeing two armed guards and Dr. Wu. "You wanted to see me, sir?" Sammy asked. The scientist nodded, and in a cold tone, he spoke, "You have been working here for how long, Officer Gutierrez? A few years, right, so it would be a shame if all your hard work climbing the ranks was thrown away." The guard stepped back slightly as they felt their skin go ice cold. They nodded. "It would be, sir. I worked for years to get where I am."

And at that, an alarm blared over the intercom. "Assets E-750 and Y-47 escaped. I repeat, assets E-750 and Y-47 escaped." Sammy took off down the hall to the armory and grabbed a high-power tranquilizer rifle.
