Betrayal
Several days passed in a slow, boring crawl as Sean spent most of his time either scribbling notes or sleeping since there wasn't much else to do.
He would occasionally see the experiments whispering amongst themselves until they noticed he was watching and would fall silent with innocent grins.
"Alright, So the date is October thirty-first, and so far nothing's different. The experiments keep whispering to each other, but I can never catch what they're saying. Experiment A tends to spend a lot of time with Experiment C65 while Trick creates, well, tricks, for her own amusement or to try and fool me." Sean reported into the recording device he was holding in one hand, a dark green pencil in the other with his composition notebook propped open in his lap.
"Is that your diary?" C65 spoke up teasingly.
"No, it's my observation notebook." Sean replied snappishly.
"Are you ever gonna let us out? I'm booorreed." Trick groaned from where she was leaning against the wall with her arms folded across her chest.
"Depends on what Felix says." Sean shrugged.
"Can you let us out for at least a little bit? Please?" Trick begged.
"Again, depends on what Felix says." Sean repeated absent mindlessly.
"What is we kill Felix?" Experiment C65 spoke up excitedly with an eager grin.
"You can't. Even if you could, which is impossible since you're locked in, I wouldn't let you just leave. There's so much we can potentially learn from you three." Sean answered without hesitation, not bothering to glance up from his notebook that he was furiously recording notes into, creating decent sketches of the experiments on separate pages with info that he knew about them.
"You said it's locked huh?" Experiment C65 mused as she stood up from where she was sitting by Experiment A and casually waltzed over to the door that was the only thing keeping them locked in their prison besides the bullet proof glass.
She kicked the door, causing the metal to dent and groan in protest as she continued beating on it.
Eventually the door broke off of its hinges and fell to the ground with a loud thud that made Sean flinch.
"Thanks for the fun times Sean!" Trick waves as she and the others quickly escaped, leaving a stunned Sean standing alone in his lab with his pencil held loosely in his hand.
"I have to get out of here." Sean decided as he tossed his notebook and pencil aside before scrambling off of his bed and darting over to the door.
It was locked from the outside.
"Somebody help me! The experiments have escaped!" Sean yelled as he pounded on the door.
After ten minutes of pounding on the door to no avail, he slumped in defeat against the slab of metal blocking him from the world, his head tilted back to rest against the cool metal.
He never noticed Experiment A's smoky form billowing out of the air vent from above his bed and swirl towards him before pouring into his mouth.
"Sean? Are you okay?" Felix asked through the other side of the door, his voice muffled.
"Yeah, everything's okay." Sean replied casually, his eyes snapping from black to their usual blue color.
"Alright." Felix sighed before walking off, leaving Sean, or what used to be Sean, alone.
"I'm so sorry." Felix whispered faintly.
Felix pressed a button on a panel next to the door an reinforced it so Sean could never escape, trapping him in what used to be his lab.
Sean abruptly started laughing, his eyes flicking from sapphire blue to pitch black as he examined his surroundings from a different perspective.

"I had to for science. He would've done the same if I was needed to be sacrificed." Felix stated solemnly, his gaze tinged with pain and sadness.
