Chapter 14: New Home
3rd POV
The small family drove to their home in a comfortable silence.
The whole ride back, Izuku sat in the back seat with his face nearly pressed against the window in awe. With child like wonder in his eyes, he observed the world he had be kept from, taking in every detail.
Soon the trio was parked and heading inside.
"Well Izuku, welcome home." Hizashi said with a beaming smile. He opened the door and let the small boy in. He walked in slow, unsure of his new surroundings. He half expected to see a concrete room. Instead, he saw a normal living room. Sliding off his shoes, he stepped father inside, his new parents following close. He felt something brush against his leg and let out a small yip in fear, jumping away from the touch.
"It's alright, it's just Latte. She won't hurt you." Izuku looked down and saw a cream colored cat looking up at him. The cat let out a small meow, and the boy seemed to instantly relax. Aizawa smiled at the wholesome sight. "We have another cat around here somewhere. His name is Espresso." The boy chuckled at the coffee addicts naming choices.
They walked upstairs and opened another door into a room. "This is your room." Hizashi said softy. "We didn't know what you liked, so we waited on decorations until you could pick some. We can find some tomorrow when we go get you clothes and supplies." He ruffled the boys head and let out a little laugh.
"W-wow. Thank you!" Izuku walked in surprised. "Ohmygod I get a window?! Really?" Pure joy was spread across his face as he rushed to the window sill. After a moment, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"We are going to go start making dinner. Why don't you try to rest some and we'll come get you when it's ready, sound good?" Izuku nodded and gave the couple a big hug. They left closing the door behind them.
Tiredness took over Izuku's senses as he walked back to the window. He basked in the warmth of the sun. "It's been so long since I've felt this warm." And with that he dozed off in the warmth of the window.

-The next day-
Aizawa POV
I woke up to the smell of coffee in the air and groaned as I sat up from my sweet sweet sleep. I grabbed a fluffy blanket and wrapped it over my head and shoulders, walking down to the kitchen. I turn the corner and find Zashi cooking, a fresh pot of coffee next to him. I glance to the side and see Izuku bundled up the same way as me, holding a mug of coffee close to him with both hands. I chuckled and it gets both of their attentions.
"I guess great minds think alike, huh problem child?" Zashi started laughing. Talking loudly about how cute we both were. He forced us into a photo and smiled at his screen.

After breakfast, we got ready to go shopping for Izuku. We still didn't have anything in the house that fit him, but this time, we did have a belt. After poking a new hole in the belt so it would stay on the boys waist, we all hopped into the car.
Ten minutes later, we were at the mall. I was worried that Izuku would get overwhelmed, so I reassured him that if it ever became too much we could leave. He shyly nodded. He seemed a little nervous. I mean, I don't blame him. He probably hasn't been in a crowd for a long time.
We walk into the mall and are hit with a wall of sounds. It startled Izuku a bit and I felt him instinctively latch onto the back of my shirt. I reached my arm around and gave him a quick hug. "Is it too much?" I ask softy. It takes a minute for him to register my question and he slowly shakes his head. "Ok, don't be afraid to let me know if it's too much. Take a deep breath, ok?" He takes a shaky breath in and lets it out. Determination now written across his face.

We went from store to store grabbing school supplies, clothes, a few hero posters, and some books. Izuku's new wardrobe consisted of mostly black, baggy clothes. He also asked about the uniforms at school, informing me that he was worried about people seeing the collar and the large scar circling his neck. I understood and helped him find a few pairs of loose black turtlenecks and a few athletic turtleneck shirts.
As we shopped, I noticed Izuku constantly pulling the collar of his hoodie up to his mouth, hiding the collar. I felt bad that we weren't able to get it off yet. The poor kid is probably nervous about having it on still. We walked out of the last store on our list and made our way home.
Once in the car, Izuku almost immediately fell asleep in the back seat.
I look at the boy through the rear view mirror. "How do you think he'll do tomorrow Zashi? Nezu want's to test his abilities, but I'm more worried about him being around kids his age."
Zashi placed a hand on my back, gently rubbing circles. "I think he'll be just fine. He's a strong kid. Plus, we will be there with him if anything happens." I smile and he gives me kiss on the cheek. "Let's go home."
