Chapter 10: Is This Real?
^^^This is a sketch of what Izuku currently looks like. This is my lil' doodle.
Aizawa POV
As the boy passes out in my arms, I rest his head on my chest so he can rest comfortably. When doing so, it revealed a tattoo above the boys collar bone reading "007". "So this must be number seven. I wonder what happened to the others."
"We should get the boy to a hospital. He doesn't seem stable." I nod and with that we leave the concrete room.
------
We make it to the hospital and rush the boy into a room. The doctors and nurses run around him, hooking him up to different machines to get him stable.
After a few hours of waiting, a doctor approaches me. All Might had left because of his time limit, so I decided to stay.
"Doctor." I say with a slight bow.
The doctor raises a hand. "You must be Aizawa, correct?" I nod. "Good. We did some tests on the boy and did a DNA search. It looks like that boy is Izuku Midoriya. His mother went missing eleven years ago and his father, a wanted criminal, skipped town a few years after his wifes disappearance. Because of these weird circumstances, no one questioned the disappearance of the child because they all assumed he went with his father." The doctor paused, letting me take in the information. Really?! No one looked into that case! That's suspicious to say the least...
I look at the doctor and they continue. "Now, aside from those strange circumstances, there is something even more concerning." A look of worry swept over the doctor. "This boy, he was declared quirkless at the age of 4, but now, he- well, I don't know what to say, but he has 5 quirks. Each quirk is different and in no way related to another." I froze at this information.
"H-how is that even possible?" I asked.
The doctor, rubbed the back of their neck and let out a sigh. "I really don't know, but I have a feeling it has to do with whatever he went through while stuck with those villains." I pause again to let this information set in when a nurse jogs up to us.
"Excuse me, Doctor, but the boy is awake."
"WHAT? That's not possible, he was supposed to be out for a few days with those injuries!" The doctor rushes past to go check on his patient. I follow closely behind.
When we get to the room, the boy is a complete mess. He is panicking in the corner hyperventilating and muttering to himself.
"A-a-akari. It's Akari. They are going to do what he did I'll never get out. I thought th-"
"Kid." He snapped his head towards me. Fear swimming in his eyes. "Kid they aren't going to hurt you. I promise."
"B-b-but th-they are d-doctors. Th-that's what they d-do." I reached my hand out to him.
"I promise you, not all doctors are bad, they just want to help you." He looked up at me with a blank stare. Slowly, he reached his hand out and grabbed mine. I lifted him up and placed him on the bed.
He took a few breaths to calm down and I motioned for the doctor to come over. I could see the boy tense up at the doctors presence.
"Hello. I'm Doctor Kamane. I'm here to help you." They spoke softly to the boy, trying not to frighten him. "Tell me, do you know your name?" The boy looked confused by the question and hesitated.
"I-i-i'm experiment seven." The doctor looked at the boy and nodded.
"Do you remember a name you had before that?" He nodded.
"I w-was Izuku Midoriya."
"Why did you say 'was'?" I asked this time. The kid turned to look at me.
Coldly the boy said, "Because that kid died a long time ago." I was a bit shaken by his answer. You could see the hurt in his eyes as he said it. It was easy to see that the boy fully believed his statement.
The doctors continued to ask the boy a few questions about his health, and why he woke up so fast. He explained his quirk and how quickly he usually heals, helping the other doctors understand his miraculous recovery.
I stood up and went out to make a call. "I'll be right back."
---------
-in the hall-
"Tsukauchi. It's me."
"Hello Eraser, is this about the case you're on?"
"Yea. The boy has some kind of collar around his throat, but I can't seem to find out how to take it off. Can you bring someone by to come take a look?"
There was a slight pause "Y-yea. Of course. Is the kid alright?"
"Physically he seems fine, but I don't know where he is at mentally. He's gone through a lot though. I can tell."
Another pause. "Ok, I'll swing by tomorrow to help. I have a few questions too."
"See you then."
------
-time skip to later that night, around 11 pm-
"AHHHHAHhrrrGG!!!" A bone chilling scream echos through the hospital.
I shoot up from the chair I was asleep in, fully awake. I quickly look to the boy.
He is writhing in pain and covered in a green electricity. He chokes out screams as he scratches at his neck, tears streaming down his face.
"KID!" I shout at him. He doesn't seem to be able to hear me. I took a step closer with my arms outstretched and see the doors to the room fly open. Just as they do, it seems as if a new wave of pain sweeps over the boy.
"NOOOOOOOoooOO! AHHHhHHHaaaAAA!! Make it STOP!" He yells, his voice cracking under the stress. I take another step closer and he snaps his head to look at me. This is when I realize that his left eye is glowing and has a steady bolt of electricity coming from it.
The doctors rush around the room as the lights start flickering. "We can't have him knock out the power! We have patients on life support in the building!"
Everyone scatters desperately to try and stop the boy. With what seems to be another wave of pain, the boy falls off the bed onto the cold floor. I rush forward, only to be zapped with a jolt of electricity. I snap my hand back and start to panic. We can't get to him.
"KID! Kid I need you to look at me!" I think he can hear me now, looking up at me from the floor. "You need to breathe! Just calm down! You're safe!" The green haired boy struggles as he tries to comprehend the instructions he has been given.
Slowly, his breathing, begins to slow down, but the situation is still the same. The doctors shuffled around frantically. I think they thought of something, but I'm still focused on the boy. His eyes are filled with fear and pain. It breaks my heart.
Suddenly, his eyes start to drop and the lightning around him flickers away. I see his body go limp and rush forward to catch him before his head hits the ground. I look around and find that the doctors had injected him with a sedative. I frown at the brutality of the situation.
"What on earth was that?" A nurse asked, still out of breath from the chaos.
I look back down at the boy and see small green sparks dance across his face to the tips of his hair.
I look at the boy for another minute. A question starts plaguing my mind. "Doctor." I pause. "How many quirks did you say he had again?"
The doctor looks shaken by the question. "W-well he has 5."
"I have a weird feeling that you need to check again." Given the strange situation the group was in, the doctor barley hesitated. As I lay the boy back on the bed, the doctor reaches forward to collect a new sample to process and runs from the room.
A few minutes pass and I find myself sitting by the boy, slowly petting his hair in an attempt to comfort him in his dreamless sleep. I'm going to help this kid. I swear to it.
-------
"Eraser!" The doctor flings the door of the room open and I shoot him an angry glare because of the sudden noise. Ignoring my look, he quickly makes his way to me. "You were right.... He has 6!"
My eyes widen. I didn't actually think my hunch was right! There's no way this boy developed a quirk overnight. This shouldn't be possible. The doctor begins spouting theories and possible repercussions of this new development.
I sigh. "What has this poor kid been through?"
