The Divine Power In You
A/N: My teacher requested another poem on how a woman should take care of herself in the society, but as I started to write this I got carried away and ended up writing women power instead. Turned out pretty well I think. Do read and comment! God bless :)
You're a woman, born to be bold
Not to be a damsel-in-distress.
You have it, buried and hidden in you,
To roar with power like a lioness
You're born, not to mop floors,
Nor to be a subject to man's desire.
When you're ignited, you have it in you,
To be the hottest flame of fire.
You're born, not to be stamped upon
You make the other fellows treading here.
Bearing him through three trimesters,
Which is almost an entire year.
You're born, not to be titled meek.
You are the divine spark that gives light-
As a teacher, to your students
When they're journeying through a dark night
You're born, to be a sister, a mother;
To shower and spread love to those around you;
The value of being a woman is priceless!
Know that you've got all the world's power in you.
You're born, to be a friend, to be independent
To live life the way you want to,
Without being judged, without being laughed at.
Your happiness solely lies in you.
You're born, to live happily,
To laugh heartily, giving a vent to your sorrows,
And not to stay petted under a roof,
Dreading any disaster of the coming morrows!
Rise up you heavenly being!
It's time to bid adieu to being a weakling!
Set yourself ablaze and burn through the coming ages,
Like a fully fuelled fire, without crackling!
