Chapter 9

The day of the competition finally came. All students were dressed in the outfit for the day.

Cynthia and Cilia had gone to Jane's house early that morning to get prepared there.

They took all the necessities with them and arrived at her place by 6am. Their drivers had dropped and left them there as they were going to be having a ride with Jane.

They first of all took there breakfast as Jane's mom had prepared breakfast that day.

Surprisingly, Mr. James Akintade Jane's dad was around and he took breakfast with them.

They chatted animatedly feeling excited due to the event of the day.

He promised he would come to the competition because the school had specifically invited both him and his wife in appreciation for all the supports they had been giving to the school in kind and cash.

After breakfast, the three girls went up to Jane's room to get prepared.

They did their make ups, wore the outfit which was different in colors from each other because while Jane was in Yellow house, Cynthia was in Purple and Cilia in Blue.

They did there hair in two pony tails and wore their boots.

Looking at the mirror one last time, they applied gloss to their lips and put on a dangling ear rings.

A bracelet on their wrist which had each of their names on it and finally they were ready to go at ten minutes to seven.

Luckily their school wasn't too far from where they were.

By  fifteen minutes after seven, they arrived in school.

They didn't even bother to wait for the driver to pack the car.
They got down straight and headed to their class.

When they got to the ss3 block, they were surprise to see that so many of their set mates had slimed fit their clothes.

Some wore it with style and the rest wore it the way they were given.
All in all though, they all looked beautiful.

The worst of the slim fits came from Shade Abosede Brown the set bitch who had gone gaga on the clothe. She was out to impress.

Jane had hardly settled down when someone came up behind her to close her eyes. Since she already knew who it was that would likely do that to her, she just smiled and placed her on hands on the persons hand.

"Babe leave me alone," she said smiling.

The person didn't move and the next thing that followed surprised she herself.

Out of no where, someone's lips was placed on hers, at first she was skeptical because the same hand was still holding her eyes in place while someone's mouth was on hers.

As she was about to pull away from the  hold of the person that held her captive at that moment, before the hand decided to leave her eyes willing.

"You!" she shouted pointing towards Martins then facing her front she pointed again "and you! Do not ever try that with me again," she said obviously irritated with their laughter.

"Sorry babe, was just trying to see if you would know me even if you can't see," Michael said still laughing.

(Hisses) "what sort of stupid prank was that, really Michael don't ever prank me like that again, I no like am."

After that ordeal, Jane was called over by the head boy they both had to go and start welcoming the guests.

She gave Michael a quick kiss and whispered into his ears "Good luck out there baby, I love you."

His simple reply was, "yea sure thing, thanks."

At first she was bothered with the way he had replied but didn't think deep about it. "Maybe he is tensed and stressed out," she had reason.

The swimming area were the competition was to take place in the school was really Hugh and wide.

People were already seated and ready by quarter to ten because the competition was to begin by ten on the dot.

A parent had been asked to come lead the opening prayer and surprisingly it was Mrs. Uzonachi , Cynthia's mom.

After the welcome speech, the Anthems were taken and the business of the day started.

The sport master  Mr. Olushola began to call out the representatives of each school for the first part of the competition which was ment for the juniors...
