When she got to school the next day however, she had told her friends how  her date went with Michael. She told them the embarrassing moment and how Michael had salvaged her.

"The funniest part of it all was that this clumsy waiter couldn't even open his mouth to say sorry like he had deliberately done what he did to embarrass me. Babes if you see my eyes, you go see say I just dey boil for body (babes if you see my eyes, you would know that I was extremely angry)."

"Nawa ooo and you no fit even dash that yeye waiter slap or something (hmm and you can't give the nonsense waiter slap).
You know say if na me that kin thing happen to, I go don show my other side teytey I no dey waste time (you know that if it was me they kind of thing happened to, I would have slapped him immediately without wasting time)," Cynthia had spoken.

"Well as for me ooo babe I support what you did, why slap the waiter when the deed had already been done. You yourself said he was clumsy pls just forget his matter jhoor," said Cilia.

"Anyway sha what is past is past," Jane finally concluded.

    As the days went by, the relationship between Jane and Michael began to wax stronger.

After a month of been in school, it was finally time for the swimming competition which Mr. Babs the HOD(head of department) and class teacher for the ss3 set had announced.

Everyone was anticipating the day of the competition.

It was going to be between six schools now which was a contrast to the original announcement of Mr.Babs.

The sport master Mr. Olushola had started to prepare the swimmers. They took time and made sure that each and everyone of them were in a good shape including Michael the second to the best, if not best swimmer apart from Martins the sport prefect.

He had won gold medals for the school when it came to swimming and doing the annual swimming competition such as this, he was hoping to gain scholarship into the higher institutions.

    All the ss2 and 3 sets weren't mainly excited because of the competition, most of them were looking forward to it because of the external students that would be coming to participate.

Some were excited because they did be finding new girlfriends while the girls were excited because they would be meeting new guys.

They had prepared their outfit for the occasions because on such days like that, it wasn't compulsory to wear the school uniform.

They were all to wear the schools swim suits which was divided into four different colours; Red, Blue, Purple and Yellow.
Each having a name logo to signify the house its represents.

   Jane on her part was excited because she couldn't wait to see her boyfriend Michael swim.

She was proud to have the best swimmer in school as her boyfriend and she flaunted it out without shame.

Moreover, her two friends; Cynthia and Cilia were always talking about the cute boys they would be meeting on the day of the competition that every time they counted the days remaining,  bright  smiles would appear on their faces.

    Students and teachers of RNC had been going around ensuring everything were in order.

The prefects were not exempted as they were given the greater part of the workload.

They had to see to it that the sit for the invited schools were in order, the places were invited parents would be sitted was arranged and every where was looking clean and colourful.

All the invited personnels were to be adequately taken care of and Jane the head prefect girl with her assistants Maggie Jones were seen ordering students about trying to bring orderliness.

The head prefect boy Cole and his assistant Manuel had gone earlier to the stand of the DJ to co-ordinate the place.

The work of the social prefects was greatly needed as everything was to be organized by them.

The food and drink was the duty of the food prefects and every other thing was to headed by the head boy and girl.

  Time for the ceremony was at hand.
