Chapter 2
Royal Niger's College was the name of the school Jane attended. It was an extremely big and spacious school which was even one of the best in the whole of Lagos State.
The school could boast of so many incredible things that made other schools envious of it.
The teachers were simply the best and the principal Mr. Shomade Victor popularly called Mr. Show by both the students and teachers alike was a really God fearing, Strict and well mannered man who didn't accept or condole nonsense from any one.
He was also friendly when he wanted to be but then you shouldn't take that for granted because he could be the opposite if anyone lacked in their duties. Seriously if you want to see a devil that wears grown, you just test his patience.
Apart from that, the school was ultra modern and had the beautiful colours of red and wine painted on its walls as it's official colours.
Its had a well equipped library, computer laboratories for both the juniors and seniors separely, a Hugh basketball court, table tennis court, a big football field and a swimming pool all in all.
The cafeteria was also extremely large and could convinently contain over 200 students.
Moreover the food was cooked and served by professional caterers who were paid large amount of money for their services.
The classrooms was another story entirely as it was made to contain nothing less than 20 students with each classes having atleast five arms.
Mrs. Rachael Akintade pulled up at the front of the big gate of the school which read "Welcome To Royal Niger College," and was ushered in by the security man who was checking each vehicle in.
It wasn't that Mrs. Akintade didn't have a driver to drop her daughter at school, but because she was not going to work early today, she decided to drop her daughter herself.
Going to the parking lot, the two got down from the car and went to hug each other.
"Aww see my senior student, I'm wishing you the best of luck today baby. Hope you have a good time and..."
"Jane Ayokumi! welcome back to school," her two best friends Cynthia and Cillia came running to were she stood hugging her tightly while cutting off what her mum was about to say.
"Good morning ma," they both greeted.
" Good morning my daughters, how are you today?" She asked them.
"We are good ma, thank you." Cillia said.
"Okay then so I guess I have to be on my way now, pls send my regards to your parents for me and ayo," she called her daughter by her second name which she does whenever she was serious "pls remember what I told you at home, make sure you do well to make your father and I proud of you this term and represent your school well. Don't worry I will be home before you get back and baby, remember I love you." She finally finished while placher hand over her chest dramatically.
"Mum don't worry trust your pikin na ( trust your child) I will always be on my best behavior and I promise to make you and dad so proud of me. See you when I get home and I have to hurry to class now as it is almost assembly time. Bye mum," she said while hugging her one last time.
"Bye baby, see you soon," said her mum, entering the car and zooming off.
Immediately her mum left, she turned to her energetic best friends hugging them back equally as energetic.
Cynthia Uzonachi and Cicilia Adeola had been friends with Jane since there freshman year in school. They had been in the sane class from Junior class one A up until they got to Senior class one when they got switched.
While Jane and Cilia were still in ss1 A, Cynthia was taken to ss1 C.
Despite the separation in class, they still remained very good friends that made most people in school wanting to join their group.
The three were popular, extremely intelligent, beautiful which got most guys seeking for there attention, even the juniors and what more, kinda the teachers favourites.
They always represented their school well since junior class both in science, music, debate or drama.
They were like their three maskerteers which no one could separate.
Although they were in different departments in school: while Jane was a science genius, Cynthia was more of art and Cilia had excelled greatly in commercial department.
They were truly beauty with brains and this endured everyone to them, well lets just say almost everyone apart from the school bitch as she is called "Shade Abosede Brown."
