The sun was shinning so bright and showing its light in a beautifully furnished room where the figure of a lady could be seen lying on the big bed obviously still asleep.

It was only 7am and judging by the time, she should have been awake an hour ago to get prepared for school but its seems Mr. Sleep had decided not to release her from the dreamland.

"Jane! Jane darling, are you still asleep up on till now?" A woman's voice was heard calling from downstairs, that must have obviously been the young lady's mother.

"Jane do not allow me come there to wake you myself cos you wouldn't love how I will do that," shouted the lady's voice again.

The young lady stirred in her sleep not aware of the time her dear mother finally entered her bedroom with a bucket of water and a turning stick in hand.

Splash came the sound of the water which the woman had poured on her daughter and instantly as if been electrocuted, the young lady rolled down from the bed landing straight on the hard wood flood.

    Jane Ayomikun Akintade was the only daughter and child of Mr and Mrs James Akintade who had been seeking for a child for over seven years after they got married.

On the 8th year, God finally heard their prayers and decided in his great generosity to bestow upon them a child.

When Mrs. Rachael Akintade found out she was pregnant, her joy knew no bound and she finally felt complete after such a long wait.

Judging from the way she had poured a bucket of cold water on her daughter this morning, one would think she really didn't care for her but deep within, she and her husband really adored their only child "Jane."

"Mum why did you have to do that, you could have just shouted my name and I would be awake," Jane frowned and complained.

"Well since her Majesty had decided to sleep throughout her first day as an ss3 student and most senior in school, I thought I should do her the honor of waking her up majestically," replied her mother.

"What! Is it Monday morning already?" She asked while abrantly getting up from the floor where she fell.

"No o my daring, it is still Saturday so you can continue to sleep all you want," her mother replied sarcastically.

"If you don't get that your lazy ass off the floor now and be ready in 10 minutes, I promise you will take the molue (public transport) to school this morning. Nonsense, lazy pikin ( lazy child), when I was your age by 3:30am Sef I would have woken up and done all my house work," her mother said while walking out angrily.

    After the rude way her mother had woken her up, Jane rushed into the bathroom and hurriedly brushed her teeth and took her bath.

She entered her room in some minutes time and quickly began to get dressed.

Her hair was extremely neat as she had plaited it the day before and her uniform was well ironed with her school shoe and socks clean and ready to be worn for the new section and term of school resumption.

She took her phone, went on WhatsApp and inform her two besties that she would arrive any moment soon.

"Hey babes wassup na? (how are you)," she texted.

"Jane darling I dey o, you no dey come school today? ( I am fine, are you not coming to school today)," Cynthia one of her best friends asked.

"I will soon arrive my mama is just frustrating me here, I have to go before she comes to my room again, I don't think Cilia is online yet, I will see you both in school sha, bye for now"," she typed and went offline immediately.

   She grabed her back and all the necessary things, took a look at herself one last time and headed out of the room.

Getting downstairs, she met her mom already seated having her breakfast. She checked her wrist watch and found out she would be late if she decided to wait and eat.

"Mum, I haven't seen dad this morning, where is he?"

"Omo mi ( my daughter) your father left to work early this morning stating that he had an urgent thing to do. You know how your father is na, it is business all the time."

" Oh no problem then. Mum could you please hurry up with the your food, I am running late already and  E mo pe emi ni won fi je head girl ni school (you know I am the head girl in school) and I must be early."

"Well you should given that a thought before over sleeping," replied her mother. "Let us pray before you go.
Father in Jesus name..."
