Assembly time in RNC (Royal Niger College) always began by 7:45 on the dot.

The bell was to be rang at that particular time and every students was excepted to have been on the assembly ground by that time most especially if the principal was to be present, even the teachers weren't exempted.

   Jane and her besties had gone into ss3 A to drop her things in class before the bell was rang by the time keeper, Damola Williams or his  assistant Tobiloba Daniels.

Most ss3 students in RNC held one post or the other as a show of respect from juniors that they were now the most senior students. The rest which had no post could still behave as seniors too though and trust me when I say this, even those that held no perfectship postion would always carry themselves about as if they were the perfects.

    Getting to class that morning with Cynthia and Cilia tagging along, Jane was over excited.
Her exicitment didn't come from the fact that she was the head girl of RNC but from the idea that it was a new term and section as a whole and finally she is the senior she had always dreamed of being.

She walked holding her head high above all other students even her class mates with her besties doing the same.
It wasn't as though she was proud, the thing was that she had determined right from the beginning of senior year that when she finally entered ss3 things were going to change.

First and foremost, she would be sitting at the back, no more middle or front row for her.

Secondly, she would be using her post judiciously, no more speaking to her anyhow.

Finally that boy she had been having a crush on; Michael Adejimi, who was the most handsome guy in the whole set, very quiet but friendly and hardly notices girls, she would go to prom with.

   When she told her friends about all this her drastic change, they were surprised and asked her why she wanted to change her lifestyle like that.

She simply replied "Babes we don  become seniors dem no born any junior well make dem talk or do anyhow for our side again ( babes we are now seniors no juniors dare behave anyhow with us again) even those people wey una dey call classmates (even those ones you call your classmates)."

This was Jane's resolution for this new term and she was out to enjoy it to the fullest.

   The morning assembly started in ernst once all the staffs and students of RNC came out from their respective quarters.

Being the head girl, Jane had to stand along side the head boy, Cole Nathiel by the head of the western door to control the going and coming of the students while Maggie  and Manuel Jones their assistant who where twins was situated by the eastern door.

The assembly prefect male and female: Chiamake Ugo and Tomiwa Ogundepo began leading the praise and worship section.

After that, a short sermon was taken by the chapel prefect who was also Jane's bestfriend Cilia and soon both the national and school anthems was sang.

   Immediately after the usual greetings, the principal came out to make his short welcoming speech which was sometimes always very long and there after, Mr. Babatunde Adegoke Known as Mr. Babs the most friendliest  of all the staffs came to make the announcements.

   " All students I welcome you once again to this new section and the beginning of a new term.
It is with great delight I announce to you that the school as made an whole new plan for this term.

First, there will be no interhouse sport this term since we are just in the first term but do know we will commerce on the clubs.

Secondly, there is going to be swimming competition between this great establishment and Crown Valley College this term, so I bet you all should prepare for it.

Moreover let's not forget the spelling bee which is going to occur between our juniors school this term so all juniors, be prepared for this.

And lastly, concerning the academics this term, it is with great delight that I announce  to you the coming of a new age where students will be giving the opportunity to become teachers for two whole days, the details of this would be announced to you all in no time.

Thank you for your patience and time as I greet you welcome again to this section. We shall meet again but remember! Enjoy this term." Mr. Babs concluded as he left the podium.

   Jane was called upon to make a welcome speech on behave of all the prefects and ss3 as a whole.

" Good morning to the principal, vice-principal, staffs, non-staffs and students of this great establishment.
It is with joy and delight I Jane Akintade the head girl of RNC welcomes you all to this new term and new section as a whole.

I do know that we have a whole new work load waiting us this term and I do hope everyone would give their maximum cooperation to achieve this set down goals.

Apart from that, we the ss3 of this section as decided to be of good and upstanding behavior so this school will move forward.

I can not do all this alone but with your strength and support I hope to do my best and leave the rest.

All rules should be strictly adhered to and there should be no unnecessary movements.

My humble self and the rest of the prefects would see to it that all jss1 students are oriented well this morning before classes begin on everything about the school.

I say thank you once again to every students and teachers here for the privilledge of making us the perfects for these section.

Thank you so much and have a nice day." She finally concluded.

Applauses was heard all around the wide hall as the marching song was finally taken and everyone apart from the late comers were allowed to go into their classes.
