CHAPTER THREE
•••••••••••••••••••••••••
Elena POV:
"This is the biggest load of bullshit that has ever had the effrontery to meet my perfectly sculpted ears."
Mary, Freddy, and I sat in front of the principal, all of our photo and written evidence neatly spread out on the desk.
A tablet holding every video that we could acquire of Brett and Burke harassing my brother, lay in the hands of the (unsurprisingly) corrupt asshole that we call our principal.
"Elena, I ask this of you every time you enact one of your misadventures." Mr. Wesley (aka Privileged-Douche-With-A-Superiority-Complex) sighed, feigning any expression of concern that he could pull out of his ass. "Please mind your language in front of your elders. We wouldn't want your caseworker to hear about your worsening behavioral issues."
"Of course, Sir." I replied through gritted teeth and a forced smile. Feeling the familiar burning sensation increase gradually from my hands, I quickly shoved my clenched (and slightly glowing) fists into the pockets of my hoodie.
"Principal Wesley, why won't you do anything about Brett and Burke? Those two are habitually harassing, in a multitude of violent methods, a decent percentage of the student body and still have yet to get in trouble! This has been going on for three years and none of the faculty has put a stop to it!"
"You preach to the parents about your supposed 'zero tolerance policy' and yet you allow this school to descend into chaos!" Mary argued in a typical debate team fashion. "Hell, you're encouraging it by letting bullies like Brett and Burke go unchecked!"
"Kids, I don't think this is nearly as serious as you think." He chuckled, setting the tablet down onto the desk.
"Not as serious?" I gaped, tilting my head as it hit me just how corrupt this guy really was. "They literally hit my disabled little brother with their truck! Those psycho freaks could have killed him and you're sitting here, acting like they just called him a mean name!"
"Boys will be boys! They'll play rough and wrestle until the cows come home!" The fifty-something year old man told Mary and I with a hearty laugh, before turning to Freddy. "Son, the next time they bother you, just retaliate in kind! Punch them back! Call they're mother a fat cow or something like that!"
The bullshit coming out of this guy's mouth was pissing me off so much that I had to focus unusually hard on keeping my powers at bay. However, I couldn't restrain the furious eye twitch that had started to ail my left eye.
"Boys will be boys? Are you fucking kidding me, you misogynistic prick!" I exclaimed with a loud and nearly deranged laugh, as I gathered up every bit of evidence from the desk. "Ever heard the phrase 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'? Well, this sister is pissed enough to scare the devil himself!"
"You ain't seen nothing yet, Motherfucker!" I cackled, flipping him off as I left the office. A loud bang following behind me, as the office door slammed against the wall.

I was seated on the top row of the bleachers, the cool breeze brushing against my cheeks. My dark tresses creating a curtain around my face as I gazed down at the football field.
"Are you okay?"
My brown eyes snapped over to my left, finding a boy that I'd never seen before looking down at me with bright blue eyes. He stood stiffly with his hands shoved awkwardly in his pockets.
New kid?
"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied after a brief moment of silence, leaning my back against the metal backboard of the bleachers.
"Are you sure?" He asked in disbelief with a raised brow. "Because I could have sworn that during Physics, I'd heard the most badass 'fuck you and the patriarchy' speech coming from the principal's office."
"Usually I'd deny being so loud that you could hear my rage from clear across the other hallway, but I'd believe it." I admitted with a shrug, before continuing. "I mean, my thundering anger was pretty justified."
"What happened?" The raven haired boy asked curiously.
"These two dicks, Brett and Burke, hit my little brother with their truck today. They could've killed him and all the principal had to say about it was 'boys will be boys'." I scoffed, rubbing my temples to try and rid my brain of the surfacing rage-induced migraine.
"I'm so sorry, I've been unleashing my colossal sized issues on you and I don't even know your name!" I stated with a chuckle. "I'm Elena, by the way. Elena Freeman, resident temperamental-atom-bomb-of-rage."
"Simon. Simon Thomas, resident new-kid-who's-very-intrigued-by-the-atom-bomb-of-rage." Simon laughed, causing a wide smile to form on my lips.
"Nice to meet you, new kid."
"Pleasure is all mine, rage bombshell."
