My eyes shot open and I immediately scrambled about to check the time.

3:24 A.M.

I blinked a couple of times to let my eyes adjust, the screen of my phone blurry due to it being the only light in my dark room. The soft patter of rain hitting the windows filled up the space calmly, and it could've lulled me back to sleep if I really wanted it to. But I couldn't figure out why the hell was I up so early. I don't remember having a nightmare.

I glanced at the window and could barely make out cool water droplets hammering against the glass and cascading down into wild, wet shapes. The sky was pitch black, dotted with a couple of twinkling stars here and there. As the clouds slowly drifted around the sky I could see a beautiful, yellow full moon making an appearance.

I was just about to come to the conclusion that I was just going crazy and head back to sleep when I heard it.

Barely.

A soft scratching sound coming from outside. It scraped against my window pane diligently, almost patiently. Like it was waiting for me to go investigate.

That didn't settle well in my stomach.

I turned over in my covers trying to ignore it, thinking it was probably a branch or something.

But the scrapes were calm and collected, one by one. It unnerved me how careful and calculated the sound was. I knew it couldn't be a small accident of nature, this was something with a functioning mind. The more I thought about it, the more it freaked me out.

I didn't want to go up to the window. I've seen enough horror movies to know how that ends. Sure, let me open the window and check and then there's nothing outside so I'll shrug it off and as soon as I turn around BAM I'm dead. Yeah, no thanks.

I decided to go check around outside. Grabbing a hoodie to shield myself from the rain, I rummaged around my closet for a baseball bat, then I quietly headed for the front door. My place wasn't big and elaborate, so I could still here the scratching coming from my room. As I carefully opened the door my heart beat started to pick up, and my grip on the bat tightened.

My face was greeted by the cold wind and water thrashing about. I didn't even realize it was raining harder until it was quite literally smacking me in the face. I pulled over my hoodie to keep the top of my head dry, but I knew that wouldn't really help my situation. The fabric absorbed the water quickly and the tips of my hair started to curl from the moisture.

I made my way around back to the bedroom window, heart hammering into my chest with every step. I pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight, unbothered by the rain starting to cover the screen in wet specks. And there it was. The cause of my being drenched and sleep deprivation.

A big ball of wet fur.

It backed up as the light shone in its face. Heck, I backed up too. The last thing I expected was a dog outside my house keeping me up. When my heart finally calmed down from a probable panic attack it tightened at the sight of a helpless animal. I figured it was hungry so I bent down to its level, trying to gain it's trust.

"It's kinda cold out here, huh." I spoke gently. I knew it couldn't understand me but it would definitely feel my energy so I had to remain calm.

It stayed away from me, eyeing me with icy blue eyes.

Cautious. I figured.

"Are you hungry, girl?" I slowly brought up my hand, seeing if she would take it. I figured it had to be female due to its size.

She hesitantly bounded ever, and I realized that was because there was a limp in the back leg. Regardless, I found acceptance as she sniffed my hand and licked eagerly. She must've been really hungry because she went as far as to start nipping my fingers, which almost freaked me out due to the sudden change from soft tongue to sharp teeth. I ran my hands through her fur and stood up, ready to head back.

"Let's go inside before I die of pneumonia. You good for a couple more steps?" I walked by her side slowly, glancing down to make sure she wasn't straining herself.

Once we were inside I tugged off my soaked hoodie, throwing into a corner somewhere because I had bigger priorities right now. Now that we were in the light, I could see that this dog was in fact not a dog and that said dog was actually a wolf. How could I miss that? The size, pointed ears, tail.

She sat awkwardly, leaning at an angle so there was no pressure on her injured foot and I felt my heart being squeezed again.

"You poor thing," I knelt beside her and scratched behind her ears. Smiling when a loud thump of her tail against the floor could be heard. I held her head in both hands and she reached up to lick my face, doing so in long, slow drags. Embarrassed, I backed away from her, trying to erase the feeling on my cheeks.

I left to another room to go get a towel for her. And when I came back, I found a full grown man in her place, sitting with his legs splayed out on my floor. He looked up at me with the same piercing blue eyes of the wolf.

I immediately dropped the towel with a gasp, a short scream from my lips breaking the silence. I quickly backed up out of the room, bumping into the door frame with a yelp right before turning around and bolting towards my room.

"Hey-!"

My heart pounded in my ears as I heard his shout. Shit, this was real. A damn stranger was in my house and I don't know where he came from and oh god I don't wanna die.

I reached my room and quickly slammed the door shut. I screamed again when I felt a heavy weight bash against the door right after me. My panic shot through the roof as I saw the doorknob began to turn. I slapped my hand over it and with trembling fingers I managed to lock it. It shook violently for a couple seconds until altogether the commotion stopped.

I backed away, practically hyperventilating as my heart was racing a mile a minute and my breathing was out of control.

The silence was terrible. But it gave me a moment to breathe and actually process what was going on.

I took in a wolf and out came a man.

Logic?? Who is she?

I pulled out my phone and opened it up to call the police. But just before I could actually dial there was a slow knock on the door. And that brought my nerves into a frenzy once more. A low, alluring voice spoke up from the other side.

"I'm not going to hurt you." A pause, a whisper, "Let me in." His voice was eerily calm.

"Who even are you?" I tried to sound intimidating and in control but my voice sounded more like a whine of a chihuahua.

"Let me in and I'll explain."

"Explain from the other side." I backed away from the door, glancing at my window, being half tempted to somersault out of it and run for it.

"Please." the word came out like it was his last breath of air. It was tempting.

I walked back to the door, slowly turning the lock. I had my fist raised in case I needed to sock him in the throat. The door creaked open slowly but surely and soon my eyes met the man that just made my night even wilder. His eyes met mine and a cute look of anticipation crossed his face before he stepped back and recollected himself. I put my hand down and waited.

"I'm Minseok. My pack calls me Xiυmin." he said in a sickly sweet voice while his eyes trailed the floor. Was he trying to be cute on purpose or something?

"What did you do with my dog?" I stated flatly, crossing my arms over my chest.

He looked up and made eye contact with me, giving me an "are you serious" look. A small smirk starting to curl in amusement like he knew a secret that I didn't. It kept me frozen in place, that look.

His eyes were mesmerizing and they stared me down with such fierce intent I barely had time to process his other features such as his round face, thick eyebrows, full pouty lips, his short, fluffy hair that exposed his forehead and fit him so perfectly good god he was attractive. I lost myself in his gaze, I couldn't even remember what we were talking about. Time had just stopped right then and there.

He leaned against the door frame, running a hand through his choppy locks of hair.

"I am your dog," he looked away, breaking the staring contest of doom. "Well, wolf. And not yours, I mean." He glanced up at me, his eyes looking me up and down. "Unless you want me to be." He allowed himself to fully smirk this time.

"What?" I snapped myself back to reality.

"I'm a werewolf, (Y/N)." he shrugged as if this was something nonchalant and normal.

"Werewolves.. don't exist," I hesitated. I backed away from him, stopping only when my feet hit the edge of my bed. With every step I took he followed and I couldn't fight the urge to bring my hands up in defense.

"And yet, here I am." he lightly chuckled, raising his hands up to emphasize his words. He smiled a chubby smile, flashing his pearly whites at me.

I barely noticed the gleam of his sharp canines.

So the limp was a lie

"Why are you here? How do you know my name?" I fumbled with my words, barely making cohesive sentences as he got even closer to me. Before I knew it, I was staring up at him. His now noticeable fangs hovering right above my mouth.

"I've been watching you," he mumbled, his breath fanning my skin in a way that almost made me lose my shit right then and there. His scent was foresty, and with the rain it was so natural and alluring. His eyes cast downward quickly before flicking back up to meet mine. He swallowed.

I swear it seemed like his fangs were growing longer the longer he gave me a sensual penance stare.

My mind was going bonkers. Part of me wanted to get as far away as possible from him, but the other, louder part wanted to stay and see what was going to happen.

"Are you gonna eat me or something?" I whispered, frantically darting my eyes around for some type of escape route.

He laughed wholeheartedly, his eyes crinkling and a full smile forming on his face. He went as far as to step back and bend his knees, lightly smacking them with every bubbly laugh that left his throat.

I blinked as he reached out to pinch my cheeks, "You're so cute!"

Embarrassment washed over me as he kept his hands on my face, adjusing his fingers to cradle me. His face was so close to mine our noses were touching and his gaze made me feel vulnerable. Exposed, almost naked.

"I want to kiss you," he whispered against my skin. I felt a splash of heat course through me and wash my face in red hues. I was trembling at the feel of his hands on me.

"May I?" his voice dropped, his eyes drifted towards my lips. My mind couldn't put together the fact that a hot man, wait no werewolf, was cradling my face with slender fingers ever so carefully and was staring me down in an almost primal manner. I knew there was no going back after this.

His thumb ran across my cheekbone, a flicker of white passed through his irises.

"I don't bite~" was the last thing he said in a voice barely above a growl before his soft lips met mine.

The impact was so strong I almost fell over, save for the bed behind me. When I felt the flick of his wet tongue over my bottom lip, I shot my hands up to grab his wrists. But I couldn't bring myself to move them, they just stayed in place.

Denied entrance, Minseok began nipping at my lips. He planted wet kisses over and over like his life depended on it. Each kiss became more hungry and fevered and as time went on. The feeling became maddening as he pulled away so quickly just to attack me again. Eventually when I felt the tease of his sharp little fangs on my bottom lip I had to pull away, mostly due to embarrassment. He dragged my lip between his teeth as I turned my head away, finally breaking the kiss with a sweet chu.

"Sorry, I got carried away." he muttered through heavy breaths. When I finally gathered myself enough to look back at him, there was something different. His skin and eyes seemed lighter than the usual sun kissed tan and cool blue I had been introduced to. His hair was wild, sticking out in multiple directions and looking fluffy as hell.

I noticed the stark white fangs poking out his mouth, and the sharp point of his ears.

my god

"It's okay.. " he grinned at my reassurance. "I kinda liked it."

"Really?" he smiled with his cheeks, his fangs now on full display.

I quickly nodded and I sat down on the bed, now looking up at him completely. The moonlight spilled through the window and illuminated his figure. I'm pretty sure my cheeks and nose were now dusted with a rosy pink.

He plopped down next to me. The way his eyes shone with such intensity made me think of be had a tail, it'd be wagging a mile a minute. "Can we do it again?" he searched my eyes for any type of affirmation.

"Um, I mean, shit, ye-"

His hands threw down my shoulders with such force I was scared I'd snap my spine, but that thought melted away with the feel of his fervent lips kissing mine ravenously.
