Lexi got up a an hour after I did and walked to Big Bud, before she asked, she noticed I was hanging out with him. He was helping me learn the jist of being homeless. And those are words I thought I would never say in my entire life. Also, no offense to Lexi, but she looked horrible. I mean still super hot to me, but to anyone else, just bad. Vinny walked in, I assumed he was going to ask Big Bud for something, but stopped right after getting a good look of Lexi.
"Wow, you don't look good." He pointed out.
Lexi turned to him with so much attitude, I felt goosebumps. I'm scared I might witness a murder. But Big Bud seems to be alright with it, so, oh well. Just as long as Lexi doesn't get hurt. She was not in the mood. She completely ignored Vinny, still with a burning hate for him and pulled me outside. My first reaction was that she found the cocaine. Then again, I hide it so well and plus she literally just woke up. I should be good.
"Ed, maybe we should go home."
"But Lexi, I'm so close."
"We're homeless." She pointed out.
Good point, but I had that fight with my mom, I can't go home. I need to prove to everyone I can do this. I'm not a failure. I will never become a failure.
"Listen to me. Once I get my new story done, we won't ever have to go home." I smiled.
"Could you really leave everything behind?" She questioned.
"I have everything right here. That's you."
Lexi smiled a little blushed, "What do you need me to do? I'm here to help, not just look cute."
"Actually, I just need you to look cute." I teased her.
She lightly slabbed my arm, but I'm also super weak, but that actually kind of hurt. I grabbed her hand and pulled her in for a kiss. Soon, our kiss was interrupted by Big Bud.
"Sorry to ruin the lovey dovey moment, but I need to tell you something before I forget." He said and we followed him to his spot. Lexi and I sat down, "In order to stay here, you need to chip in. Whether it be money, food, clothes, anything. How you would get that? Well, that's up to you. I'll give you the rest of the week before you have to go out and get stuff."
"Could it be anything?" I asked.
"Yup, but please no drugs, if you take them, you get them for yourself. And never get any for Vinny."
We nodded. Lexi had a question too, "Do we have to get jobs?"
"Up to you, some of us have jobs and some of us don't."
"Why shouldn't we get any for Vinny?"
"He's a drugie and when he gets high, it's no fun for anyone. I'm trying to keep him as sober as possible. I worry about that kid."
I nodded and Lexi was annoyed with the drug talk. She even hates being near them. And so do I, or I use to. Ever since Andy gave me the big bag of coke, I've been okay with it near me, even touching it. However Lexi even knew about me keeping something like away from her, she would been so angry. I don't know what would happen. Which is why she can't know. I know it's horrible keeping secrets, but I think this is how I'm going to get money. I wish I knew more about drugs. Never thought I would ever say that. It would actually be good if Lexi gets a job. When she's working, so could I and she'll never have to know.
"Oh and I want you guys to meet some people. They're about your age, maybe a bit older and they're good people."
"Okay, can't wait to meet them!" I smiled.
Lexi seemed a little distant. We just talked about drugs, what does good even mean? I can bet you, that's what she's thinking. Anyways, off to meet new people.
