vanessa jung hyeri

"alright kids, it's time for bed."

status : unknown

Deep breaths. That's it.

Vanessa closed her eyes as the cool minty feeling brushed her nose, the sharp breeze entering her body her body, circling her frame. She wasn't particularly an outdoors person but the camp was something new.
And everyone knew that she loved trying out something new.
The woods around her seemed so intimidating with trees surrounding the area, thick stumps of hard unsettling wood creating a portal into a newfound world, dark and vast and cold and warm all at the same time - a world of the unknown with creatures only told in myths.

Yeah, right. More like horny teenagers just registering to have orgies outdoors and smoke without their parents.

NO STOP.

She shook her head violently, hair tumbling down in a mess or long onyx locks, pooling at her shoulders. She had to get that thought out of her system for good and focus on the task at hand, focus on improving herself and...

Vanessa scrunched her nose in pain as she gasped, clasping onto her stomach. Something wasn't quite agreeing with her, possibly the greasy omelette she had made in the morning with leftovers in the fridge that consisted of old kimchi, some sausages and possibly expired vegetables. She moaned out loud, collapsing onto the floor, knees shaking on the cold pavement as she hunched over and retched. The acid burned her throat, making her voice rougher than usual as she struggled to steady herself, spots already forming in her vision. She sure hoped that the dizziness and symptoms would wear out soon. She was going on a camp. Outdoors, for goodness sake!

Her eyes widened in suit as a new wave of vomit came swimming up a throat and falling onto the floor in a sloppy puddle. She yelped, clutching desperately on her stomach and swearing never to have leftovers again. The pain bounced from her stomach to her back as she began to calm herself, breathing once again to find her rhythm. Slinking against the cold brick wall, she closed her eyes and drank some water, gargling and spitting the contents out onto the side in disgust.

The sun was flashing bright as usual, smiling down on her and lighting up her features, the shadows creating a pattern that zig-zagged along her sharp nose and chin, reaching downwards towards the old granite gray hoodie she had chosen in the early hours, all frayed and loose, hanging around her shoulders and ending in a comfortable length around her thighs. Her bag consisted of another tumbler and she retrieved it, happily gargling down the contents and enjoying the sweetness that lingered in her mouth, the rich chocolate flavour drowning all her sorrows and making her forget any stress or unhappiness that had once screamed in her mind and clawed at every aspect of her life.

"I'll never get tired of Milo." she muttered quietly to herself, referring to the chocolate malt drink she so loved and placing the small metal tin back into her backpack. Lively footsteps paced along the road as her spirits lifted, the slight bounce in her step becoming a little skip. Her stomach still felt unusually weighty but she didn't mind, the thought leaving her mind as she stared at the way the clouds glided over her, floating around in beautiful wisps of pristine white. It made her want to reach up and touch them, feel the softness curl around her fingertips and the tender cushion caress her neck.

She froze, however, when her gaze landed on something - or someone.
The boy was one of the reasons she was stressed. Reddish-brown hair that curled around his head, those sad downtrodden eyes that seemed to read her every thought. Jung Hoseok.

Flashes of the night returned to her at once. It always happened when she caught a glimpse of the boy in school, all in his intellectual glory, passing by her nonchalantly with hands in his pockets and head hung low, features still amazingly prominent. Her mind brought her back to the night he had held her so gently, lips sucking at the sensitive skin on her neck with force before returning to her own plush lips and lightly biting down on them. The touches still seemed so present. She remembered how his hands roamed her body, exploring every crook and cranny as he drew circles on her back and breathed on her thighs, leaving hickeys in places she never knew you could. She remembered how delicate he was and yet how ravenous he seemed as he thrusted effortlessly into her, hips moving on their own as he claimed her and lifted her leg to wrap around his own frame, eyes boring on her features and moaning in song.

And all for one night.

One night that would haunt her forever and would bring back countless nights of sweat beading on her forehead, dripping down and finding herself twisting and turning in her bed, fingers fisting into the sheets in pure frustration. Frustration for sleeping with one of her biggest intellectual rivals in school and then leaving in the morning without any word or greeting. He was the one who left first. Probably realizing he had made a horrible mistake. She didn't exactly blame him. She'd probably would have done the same thing.

And yet, she couldn't help but feel a slight anger bubble up her throat and sear her heart mercilessly. The feeling seeming to linger a little more than usual as he turned his head away and walked towards the bus.
