This is a thought that literally just came to my mind. Meaning I haven't thought this true, so I might be TERRIBLY wrong, and I dont mind hearing y'alls opinion on this. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you're familiar with awards here on wattpad (except wattys, idk how they work) you might have noticed how we always have a category in the forms which says "LGBTQ/Mature".

Now this is meant to be for the people who find it uncomfortable reading books under those categories. Now I understand the discomfort people might have reading mature content, but LGBTQ? A lot of people might find it uncomfortable reading LGBTQ, fine. But why do we create categories for their convenience? I mean, isn't that somehow, indirectly, supporting homophobia?

Look, what I mean is, when you provide people with the privilege of "comfort zones" they only feel more reluctant to leave it as time passes by. If you don't ask such people to leave their comfort zones, how will they make themselves leave it? It's not like feeling uncomfortable about people from the LGBTQ community is something that should be considered good or anything.

If a single father can't get himself out of his comfort zone to talk to his daughter about periods, how will she cope up with it the first time she goes through it? Similarly, if people don't try to push themselves out of their comfort zones, which provides them with such a choice, how will we ever create an environment more safe and inclusive for our LGBTQ friends?

Again, I might be wrong. Correct me if I am, I'd live to hear your thoughts but this what I feel right now.
