YOU
you oh Medusa,
Who left my heart stonecold,
I hope your deeds brought you happiness,
It had robbed me of mine after all.
Would you ever have been mine ?
Ah yes you,
the one that got away
Gifting me a million neglected questions
Hovering above me still,
an everlasting thunderstorm.
Like Apollo,
to forever mourn a lost love.
And you,
the one with eyes as dreamy as the night-sky,
And Aphrodite's soul;
The breaker of hearts who knows no remorse.
And you,
oh Narcissus,
Would you for once raise your head,
For there indeed is one,
much more beautiful than you.
Should you raise your head,
You would have seen.
For I am Echo,
Watching you lost in love.
Writhing in pain,
As I reach out to you in vain.
And you,
Oh Hades,
How dare you abduct and tether my heart to thine.
And knowing what would become of me,
Replenish me with seeds of the dark.
Now my heart longs to return to you,
Even as everything sane within me screams,
To thee, I should not bow.
Like Odysseus,
Who yearns for nothing but to run homeward,
I yearn for your arms.
Only to burn like Icarus,
who flew too close to the sun.
Would you ever be mine?
I ask,
Oh you Oracle of Delphi!
Speak so I may rest tonight in peace.
