Tears were streaming down my cheeks, as I sang the song that Aliyah used to sing for me.
"You are my sunshine,"
"My-" the words caught in my throat.
"My only sunshine," She managed to finish the lyric for me, even though she was losing so much blood that I could feel her hands getting colder.
"You make me happy, when skies are grey." I continued, tears leaving tracks on my face as I watched the light her eyes fade.
"You'll never know dear, how much I love you" Lianara's blood was staining my hands, but I couldn't care less as I cradled her head with one hand, the other hand resting on the gaping wound on her chest.
"Please don't take my sunshine away."
Her eyes fluttered closed as I sang the last line of the song, and she took her last breath. Her body was cold, and her chest no longer rose and fell unevenly like it so had just mere moments ago.
