Auf einmal blieb ich abrupt stehen. "Jetzt weiß ich es: Ihr verachtet mich nicht, weil ich keine Hexe bin, sondern weil ich machtvoller bin, als ihr alle zusammen je sein werdet. Denn ich bin näher an der Erde, an der Natur, und die Natur siegt immer. Ich bin näher am Leben, dem atemraubenden sowie dem atemgebenden Leben. Es fließt durch meinen Körper, die Erde gibt mir Stärke. Ich halte den Tod und das Leben in meinen Händen, man könnte sogar sagen, ich sei das Schicksal persönlich. Ich glühe vor Lust, die zu rächen, die ich geliebt und verloren habe und die mich wie eine Gefahr behandelt haben. Aber ich bin gutmütig, und ich werde es dabei belassen, an Euren Verstand zu appellieren und mich nicht wie eine Aussätzige zu behandeln."
Scarlett hielt inne und kam leichtfüßig zu Stella und Jahir.
Sie schüttelte den Kopf. "Aber genau das bist du, Stella. Es ist sinnlos, die Wahrheit zu leugnen. Dadurch, dass du fort warst, gehörst du nicht zu den Toten, aber auch nicht zu den Abtrünnigen, und ich hoffe für dich, dass du letztlich deinen Platz in dieser Welt findest."

A sudden thought stopped Stellas steps forward. "Now I know: You don't hate me because I'm no witch, you hate me because I'm stronger than you altogether ever will be. I am closer to the earth, to nature, and nature always wins. I am closer to the life, the breath-taking as well as  the breath-granting life. It flows through my body, the earth gives me strength. I hold life and death in my hands, you could even call me fate. I blaze from lust to revenge those I've loved and lost and those who saw a danger in me. But I am good by nature, and I will leave it by calling on you not to treat me like a leper."
Scarlett paused and then pranced light-footedly across the moss-covered ground to Stella and Jahir. She shaked her head. "But you are, Stella. There is no point in denying the truth. You were gone and due to this you're not dead but you're also not among the foes, and I really hope for you to find your place in this world."
