Ever happened to y'all? It happens every single time with mee 😭😭😭

Okay so I am not here as a subject expert or something but as a student preparing for certain competitive exams in India, I've read quite a few blogs on exams and practiced some techniques as well in my daily life.

Let me list a few to y'all hoping that it will help anyone of you :

Pomodoro technique :

Pomodoro technique is indeed a great help when you have to memorise certain topics. Pomodoro technique is like you set a timer of 25 minutes and complete a specific topic which you are memorising and then take a 5 minutes break. For every 4 pomodoros you have to take a 15 - 20 minutes break.

Personally it worked out for me, it pushed me to have more concentration and complete things quickly. If you are afraid of covering vast syllabus break it into small tasks and you can complete the syllabus without any hindrance.

Retrieval Practice :

It is based on the concept of remembering at a later time. Recalling an answer to a question improves learning more than looking for the answer in your textbook. And, remembering and writing down the answer to a flashcard is a lot more effective than thinking you know the answer and flipping the card over early.

Create flashcards, but make sure to practice your retrieval technique. Instead of flipping a card over prematurely, write the answer down and then check.

This technique is good for last minute revision when you practice mock tests and sample papers. But also if some topic is tough to memorise or learn flash cards are one of the best ways to memorise them, you can memorise them over and over till the exam if you just write them over a piece of paper.

☆ Don't study the same subject for too long :

We should always keep two/three subjects per day. For instance, if you study 1 hour of chemistry, the next one hour you must study some other subject. Make sure the combination should be like one easy and one difficult subject.

By doing so you will not get bored and because of the easy subject you will gain some confidence that atleast you will be able to score good marks and that will give you a push to study better for the other subject as well.

☆ Morning person/ Night person :

Most of us are night owls and the same amount of them are early birds as well. Analyse yourself in which category you fall into? Do you concentrate better during nights or during mornings? When are you able to be with a fresh mind and grasp things faster?

Analyse yourself and start studying tough subjects during that time when you are with a clear and fresh mind.

I am a night person, I can concentrate better when everyone is asleep and nobody is going to disturb me. I set alarm for every one hour while studying at night, so that I don't pass time unnecessarily.

If you feel hungry, instant noodles are tempting but almonds or some healthy snacks is better during this time which will help you concentrate better.

☆ Music : Yes or No?

For me I study better with light violin music playing in the background. That's an sound block from all kind of sounds around me (especially to escape from Anupama serial)

If you are like me, make sure you listen to music which doesn't have any lyrics because if you listen to lyrical songs there are chances your brain might concentrate more on the lyrics than on the thing you are studying.

There are also people who like to study in a calm place without any music. That's according to them and their personality and their way of learning such people can go to their balcony or just ask nobody in your home to disturb you and lock your door (Remember to keep distractions away ;) }

(Lofi music is also my favorite😍, comment what's your favorite study music)

Today's last and final tip

☆ The Curve Of Forgetting

Did you know that if you don't Revise the topics you studied you will forget them as the days pass. Yes! It's true.

Let me share my experience with you, I happened to study for a theory exam and I studied for the exam syllabus a week back and memorised all the things except the last minute revision. I couldn't make time for the next one week and we didn't have a holiday to memorise the whole thing again. The day of exam, I opened my book and it all seemed like new to me. I started studying and it was getting difficult, I didn't have an option except for to learn atleast some topics and be perfect in them rather than panicking about the topics I haven't been able to learn/study.

So y'all make sure the subject you study today must and should be revised atleast every alternative day till you give the exam. Don't get into trouble and always remember to keep yourself hydrated and never skip any of the meals in exam tension.

I always was a kind of person who would either fall sick during exam or don't eat anything because I don't feel like eating anything before the exam I feel puking but that's a minus point for me, because I don't get to eat anything in the mid exam I get too hungry and it gets difficult for me to concentrate when my stomach is grumbling. If someone who is reading this goes through the same too, then dude you better eat something even though you feel like puking that could be some nuts, milk, biscuits anything but do not go to exam empty stomach.

I'll stop here for today, I hope these tips were helpful and handy 😊

We'll come up with an update twice a week till the exam season comes to an end.

Anyone up for study challenges? If y'all are up, we'll plan some here on wattpad only. Let's see what comes on the way

Now back to work y'all!

All the very best for your exams!
Rock  'em

*packs my bag and goes back to study*
