Uh oh

I stifled a surprise cry when I heard a loud sound of skin slapping each other. I cover my daughters eyes so she wouldn't see this thing. I bit my lower lip when I saw the man turned his face on the his left because of the powerful slap. A familiar that is no other than… Natsu.

What is he doing here? In all places, why he needs to be here? Why I need to see him?

"Is that what you planned? You're going to slapped her!"

"You don't care--"

Another powerful slap hit his skin making that man groan, "Like this huh! Are you planning to do this to her?"

My mouth parted as I watched him slapped the man's face. He did that countless times - I can feel the anger that coming from Natsu's body right now. And I'm not sure if I could approach him.

"Natsu!" I called him but it feels like he didn't hear me so I inhale sharply before "Natsu!" I say louder than the previous one.

He stop from whatever he's doing and turned his body to us. His eyes blaze with anger but as soon as his eyes went to me and to my daughter - it immediately soften "Are you okay, baby--- I mean, Lucy?"

The man who had hit my daughter instantly run away from Natsu's sight. Like is he stay there Natsu will surely kill him. I opened my mouth to say something but my daughter instantly remove my hand that covers her eyes. Her ash mauve eyes are clouded with her own tears, as she bit her lower lips to stop herself from sobbing. My heart instantly clenched in pain as I saw her tears slowly fall down on her chubby cheeks that's cue the others to fall down.

"Pumpkin, are you hurt?" I sobs as I tried to calm my daughter. I gently rubbed her back "Shh… you are safe huh" I says "You are safe"

My daughter's tears keep on streaming down her cheeks. But she didn't say anything or even muttered some words. She just keep on sobbing while her tears are flowing down on her cheeks. Suddenly, Natsu pat her head which makes my daughter look at him "You did a great job, Princess" he say gently as he gently wipe my daughter's tears on her cheeks "You didn't cry in front of that bully" he gave her a small smile "You such a brave princess"

"Mama… was hurt" she sobs. I was caught off guard by what she had said, "Mama... was hurt" she sobs.

"Of course not" he says "Your mama wasn't hurt. She's safe because of you"

"Me?" She innocently says.

Natsu nodded before he planted a soft kiss on my daughter which makes my eyes wide "And she will be more than okay. If you kiss her like that"

And to my surprise, she planted her soft moist lips on my cheeks then smile her bright smile to us. I felt Natsu's hand wrapped in my waist "See, Princess,  Mama is okay" he say softly.

"Woah" her eyes are full of happiness as she look to us.

Natsu opened his mouth to say something "Pumpkin," I say before he can utter another word "Let's change your clothes, okay"

My daughter's eyes look at me "Can Papa carry me, Mama?" she asks me with full of hope and her eyes.

I wanted to say 'No' but seeing her like that makes me agree with her. I sigh "Just be gently with my daughter, Natsu" I say without looking at him "And again, I'm sorry if my daughter mistaken you as her father"

"It's okay" he gently say "I don't mind afterall"

I gently pass my daughter to him without looking at his face, "You can join us to our picnic," I say as I turned my body to him "My daughter will surely love it and this is my token of gratitude for saving us, earlier"

I felt his stare in me but I tried to act that it never effects in me. After I dressed my daughter, they immediately played. I couldn't deny that while looking at my daughter's face - she was enjoying her father's company, but I still don't know what Natsu was thinking at this time. I can't read what's on his mind.

NATSU bring us home after our picnic. At first I was hesitant but because of ny daughter I agreed with him. Right now, he was busy looking at me while finishing his cup of coffee. Nashi on the other hand was finally asleep.

"You are over stayed, Natsu" I says as I crossed my arms below my breast "I'm sure Yukino is looking for you" I say bitterly.

He looked at me innocently "We have to talk Luce"

"I think we don't need to talk" I say rolling my eyes to his "Or you want me to thanked you again?"

Natsu let out a deep sigh "Are you okay?" He ask me.

He stares at me carefully like he was trying to read my mind "What are you doing here? Don't say to me that its just coincidence because I'm fucking tell you. I won't fucking believe you." I hissed.

"Are you okay?" He repeated, "I just want to make sure that you are okay after what happened in the park"

"Am I okay?"

"Lucy?"

"Am I okay?" I repeated.

He seemed to understand what I meant when he see the anger in my face. He immediately came to where I was, but I did not retreat despite the fact that my whole system is trying to avoid him. To run as fast I could to this person who has the capacity of hurting me.

"Lucy--"

He couldn't finished his words because I planted my hands on his chest and pushed him to no avail. He didn't budge and instead he just looked at me with his eyes where I can see his visible pain.

"Am I okay? Is that what you want to know? After everything? After everything that happened?"

"I wanted to make sure--"

"Why you do you even care?" I screamed those words to him, finally losing the ounce of grip that I have left. My tears instantly fall "Why do you care when you left me? Why do you care when you let me leave?"

He was about to hold my hand but I instantly stepped back, pain flashes on his eyes he saw my reaction towards him "I didn't left you"

I laugh sarcastically "I woke up and you were gone, Natsu. After you made me feel all those things, made me so happy, you made me fall in love with you and then you yanked them away. You ripped all those things from me when you left me"

"I didn't leave you" he screamed those words on me like he was losing his patient "You made the choice for me. You pushed me away"

"You let me. Because our relationship is not part of your planned. I was just a mistake that happened to your life"

"Stop saying that." He growled "Stop trying to convince yourself that you are just a mistake. You know to yourself that its not true"

"I don't. That's what we are"

I gasped when I felt his hands hold me in my both arms. For a moment I felt fear but it vanished as soon as I looked into his eyes. Seeing nothing but pain. No anger. Just raw pain.

"I left because you needed me to," he pauses before he gently carries my cheeks "I let you leave because you needed too."

I shook my head to him as I remove his hand on my cheeks "Natsu, please. Just leave. I want everything to be finished. Besides you have Yukino on your side. Please stay away from my life."

"Yukino is my cousin, Lucy" he growled "Do you really want to end this Lucy? Do you really want me to leave you for good?"

"You left, Natsu" I murmurs "And you made it clear when you just let me leave that day"

"You needed me to and I did prove to you that I'm over her. I am done. I want to be with you. I wanted to see you, to see your frustrated face every time I did something terrible. I wanted to see you before I close my eyes at night. I wanted to stay with you."

"That doesn't make sense, Natsu"

"I left because you were right. I need to see Nathalie. She's not my daughter and you know that. But I need to know what's going on to her. She's sick, Lucy. And she died fighting for her life. She died a year ago"

My heart clenched in pain because of what he had said. Because I know what part of that kid to Natsu's life. He thought he was his. He even named her bacause he thought that she was his daughter.

"Natsu--"

"You said it isn't fair for you to wonder if I will ever choose you. What you don't understand is that there's no choice. You are part of my future and Jane is just part of my past. What she did and what she took when I found out about Nathalie, it's something that won't be easy for me to remember. It was fucked up, Lucy. But I want to assure you that she won't be part of my present nor my future. We are done even before we get married."

"We are finally divorce Natsu"

"Because I want to make everything right" he said "I wanted to give everything that you deserve. I wanted you to experience how to walk down the aisle as I wait you there"

I bit my lower lips to stop myself to sobs, "After you left, I asked someone to guard you, because I never intended you to let go. I'm still updated about what's going on your life. I was there when you buy things for Nashi, I was there when you gave birth, I was there, Lucy." He sobs "I even asked for our friends to go on your restaurant three days ago because I want to celebrate our daughter's birthday."

"Y-You knew…"

Natsu planted his soft moist lips in my forehead before he pressed his forehead to mind as his both hands holding my cheeks "I love you too, Lucy"

My eyes got widen when I heard him say those words "I love you and I'm sorry if it took me one year and nine months to answer you. I'm sorry it took me one year and nine months to say I love you"

"Natsu---"

"I love you, Lucy Heartfilia"
