"Nothing!!!" Kayla slammed a book close before slamming her face into it and  letting out a grunt.
"Don't worry sweet treasure We'll find a solution" Cas soothed before kissing her head and rubbing her back while Dean, Sam along with their father were trying to find a solution too. "Hey! Where's Jack? It's been a while since I heard from him?" Kayla asked trying to find a new subject to converse with. 
"He's living in Britney's old home." John replied looking over from a book which spoke about angels and demons finding their weakness and/or loop holing them. Kayla gave a soft smile "Our boy has grown up" she said smirking at Cas. Cas replied with a soft chuckle. "He sure has. Although he's not really our son"
"Yeah I know I know. Can I just enjoy calling him my son?" Kayla sassed her husband. Cas gave her a smile pecking her forehead and said "I'm going to heaven. See what I can do with this problem. I'll be back" 
"Ok" Kayla whispered before she planted her face into another book.
"How about me and Sammy go to hell and see what we can deal with?" Dean asked clenching his jawline. Kayla nodded "Alright. Please come back whole!" Kayla replied. Dean chuckled and Sam breathed out a small stifle of a laugh. "we will." Sam replied. They both gave her a kiss on her head before departing. 

Kayla sighed and rubbed her forehead with the palm of her hand before puffing and keeping on looking for an answer. John looked over at his daughter softly before he placed the book he was reading, placed it back to its place and went over to her just wrapping his arms around her. Kayla leaned in and sighed as she snuggled close and nuzzling her face against his stomach. "Hey dad" she whispered
"Hey Princess." he replied in the same tone rubbing his hand over her arm for comfort. "Listen. I do not want you to stress yourself. Go get your rest. You've been at this for over 6 hours non stop. Go close your eyes and rest" John suggested. Kayla looked up at him. "Dad." 
"Nope! Go sleep" John stopped her from keeping on talking. Kayla sighed and rolled her eyes. "Ok! Ok! I'm going. I'm going" she turned to face him and gave him a soft smile "thanks dad. I love you"
"Love you too princess now go to sleep. Ava, John and Nathan are coming from Jody's tomorrow" 
"Yeah. Thanks for the heads up." Kayla said before she went back to her father, kissed his cheek and left. John smiled at that before he just burst into tears alone. He hated seeing his daughter like this. He hated seeing anyone like this to be frank. He sighed and sat down on an armchair covering his crying face in his hands and softly sobbing before he just let out one small grunt. 

Kayla heard him..she turned back and rushed up next to him holding him close to her. This was ironic. It was suppose to be the other way round.. but this is a special family. John had no choice but to lean into his daughters embrace and shaking in it.
"I'm so sorry princess! I'm doing my best" Kayla said nothing but just embraced him even more in a tight hold kissing his head. She was close to crying too. She is trying too hard to not show any vulnerability right now. She buried her face in his hair and softly sniffled. "we will find a way out of this. we always have. Don't go giving up now dad" she whispered through his hair. Tears prickling out of her eyes as she hitched out a soft sob. "I'm never giving up princess." he softly cried out in a sober tone. 
Kayla pressed a kiss on his head and tightening her embrace around him more than ever. "Now come on. I think we both need our rest." Kayla softly said rubbing his arm. John reached to her cheek and pressed a kiss on it himself. "Yeah I guess so Princess. Come on."

The next day

Kayla grunted her sleep away as she pushed herself off her fathers shoulder. She gave a small smile and kissed his cheek causing him to wake up with a grumble. "Kayla?" John wearily asked out. Kayla grinned brightly "morning sleepy head" she joked. He mumbled softly before he pushed himself off the bed. Kayla laid back in her pillow and just let out a small soft sigh. "We gotta work on finding on how I'm gonna save My d.."

"Mum!!! we're home!!" Nathan's voice boomed from the bunker. Making Kayla's eyes widen brightly before she gave a grin to her father who replied with a smile indicating her to go and welcome them back home. Kayla rushed out of the room and went to find her sons holding their sister. 
"There they are!!!" Kayla chimed with a grin before she kissed both of her sons heads and reaching for her daughter. Kayla held her so tightly that she was about to burst into tears as she kissed her all over her face. "Now we know who's the favourite?" John smirked at his brother. Kayla gave him a look before she said "would you like me smothering you?" 
"No!! Nope!!" Nathan exclaimed
"We're good!" John added up making Kayla smirk before she gave them a hug at once and just closing her eyes enjoying the sense of a child in her arms. "Mum, are you ok?" John concernedly asked. Kayla had to lie. "Yeah sweetie. I'm fine. How was your holiday with aunt Jody and Aunt Donna?" 

"It was great!" Nathan stated "yeah, we had fun. We fooled around, watched movies, ate pizza, went to a day by a pool, it was a good holiday" 
"Good! Glad you had fun. Would you like to go again someday?" Kayla asked for assurance.
"That would be awesome!" John agreed with Nathan smirking and nodding "yeah! that'd be great mum. You're the best" 

Kayla gave him a soft smile and watched them leave to their room.

Those words from that day were still haunting her... when they died... how is she the best mum when she was frozen and watched them die?! She held back a sob and gulped back her tears when she heard her fathers voice disrupting her thoughts. 

"Kayla, are you ok?" his concerned voice filled her thoughts and pushed the negative ones aside. Kayla gave him a soft smiled with a nod before she just wrapped her arms around her fathers warm and gentle embrace, hugging him ever so tightly before letting out a soft hum. 
"I'm holding on" she softly reassured. 

"Kitty!!! We're back!!" Dean's voice cut the nice father and daughter moment. Kayla looked up at her father letting out a really big sigh and went out to find her brothers there. Kayla walked up to them "what did you find out?"

"Well.. it's either one deal or the other. But... don't worry.. we will find a loophole to all this kitty. I promise you." Dean said laying a hand on her shoulder. Kayla closed her eyes and sighed almost escaping a sob from her lips but Dean couldn't have it. He pulled her in his chest and kissed her head. "we got this" he whispered. Kayla's arms immediately squeezed her brother into an unending hug. She couldn't give up this early. John and Sam met each others gaze. Sam shook his head making John inaudibly sigh and gulped back his tears nodding in reply trying to not take this so hardly. 

"I think I found a way!!!" Castiel emerged from thin air. Kayla turned head to her husband and actually held a hopeful look on her face just the same as everyone. 

"What is it?" John anxiously asked wanting to get this problem solved with and quick.
