CHAPTER 4

A week had passed and Kristina was still on coma. No one knows what happened, even her tito and ate had no idea.

Elise was absent in place, while Rose was staying at the hospital secretly to look for Kristina.

“Ugr, such sleepyhead.” Wika na lamang ni Rose habang nasa rooftop ng hospital. Her hair was moving together with the wind. She was standing at the edge like she was going to suicide and add to that, there are lots of people was screaming down on the building saying that she do not have to end her life.

“Is this called Crazimbies?” She even invented a word that could describe those people down there who thought she want to die. “Why they want to commit suicide? Why…”

She doesn’t know. All she want is to live and cut the chain of messing a life.

Dumaan ang ilang minuto nang may helicopter na dumating sa rooftop at tinatawag siya nito.

“Oy!” wika naman niya at kumaway. Sumakay na lamang siya doon hinayaan ang mga Crazimbies na sumigaw doon.

Pumunta sila sa building ng kaniyang organization and saying that Elise will be released today, makes her mind ready.

Nang dumating na sila sa punishment hall, nakita nila sa Elise na nakahandusay ngunit ginagawa pa rin nito ang kaniyang makakaya para makatayo at hintaying na lamang ang isang kanta na hudyat na tapos na ang parusa.

Then the lullaby song filled the hall, the show stopped and Elise fainted.

“Ugr, two bedridden, how troublesome.” Wika na lamang niya at tinapik ang kasama niya ngayon.

“What?” tanong nito sa kaniya ng hindi man lang lumilingon.

“Sugar, do you have a friend?” Tanong ni Rose.

“Bullshit-head, don’t make a nonsense question.” Humarap ito kay Rose at sinabi. “ I don’t need a trash.” Sabay kalma itong umalis sa harap ni Rose.

Napabagsak balikat nalamang siya dahil sa sagot na natanggap niya, sabay buntong-hinga.

“At least you help me to carry Elise, ughr, change was really something in this world.” Pinuntahan nalang niya ang walang malay na si Elise at inasikaso na ang info para kay Elise.

Ginamit na niya ngayon ang kaniyang sasakyan at dumiretso sila sa bahay nito. NIlinis niya ang mga sugat nito at ginamot.

“As long as you don’t ask for that medicine, you will be okay,” saad nito sa natutulong na si Elise, lumabas na siya sa kwarto at umuwi muna saglit sa kaniyang bahay. Kinuha niya ang mga importanteng gamit dahil alam niyang mananatili na naman siya sa lugar ni Elise dahil sa natanggap nito.

Bago siya bumalik, dumaan muna siya sa hospital kung nasaan si Kris at tinignan muna ito. Wala na rin ang mga tao sa paligid na kanina ay takot na takot dahil sa gagawin niya. Ngunit bago pa naman siya makapasok sa building, napatingala na lang siya at nakita niya doon na nakaupo si Kris.

“You don’t afraid to fall?” wika niya sa ere.

Because, I am.

Naglakad ng kalmado si Rose papasok sa building at habang naglalakad, may nakasalubong siyang isang babae. Para bang nag-slow motion ang paligid nang makita niya ito. Pero hindi na niya ito pinansin at nagpatuloy lang sa paglalakad.

Nang makarating sa rooftop, nakita niya si Kris na nakaupo doon at nangpapahangin.

“Yo!” pa-unang bati niya rito. Nilingon siya nito at itinaas ang kaliwang kamay na nasisilbing bati niya.

Rose stood beside Kris and put her hands on her pocket. “Feeling good?” tanong niya ulit kay Kris.

“My body was good but it felt like there is something on my chest.” Kris don’t have any idea what was going-on on her body. It feels like empty and she just wanted to cry and her mind keep flashing her a unfamiliar scenes that she never had.

“Weird, huh?” Rose’s comment. Silent filled on the conversation and the only sound they heard was the crowded city, the beep of the vehicles, the voice of the city.

Wondering, if she was living in a normal life, will she find the happiness in her heart? Maybe she was just born to do something for anyone and live until she was useless? She don’t know. Feelings was so hard to understand, even herself had no idea what was her goal and what she wanted to know. She also have emptiness in her heat, and she wan to find it though.

“Where is that woman?” tanong naman sa kaniya ni Kris. Napalingon siya rito.

“Ah, that asshole?” Rose beamed” Well, bedridden and in my estimation, she will wake up within two to three weeks.” Wika niya nang hindi man lang tumitingin kay Kris.

That woman, always thinking the same as mine, but doing it in a selfless way. Rose want to punch Elise and awaken its real self.

Napalingon naman si Kris kay Rose. “What happened?”

Rose smiled a bit. “That idiot, while we are on our job, she was careless and that’s what she got.”

As long as she careful on her word, Kris won’t know anything. It is much better than involving an innocent kid to an adult problem.

“Oh really.” Napababa naman ang tingin ni Kris. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I should not have followed you then maybe-“

“Oy… are you dumb? It is not your fault. She is the one who is careless and she wounded because of our job, it is part of it.” Rose beamed, then tap her head. “Don’t worry, she’ll live.” Rose made an assurance smiled.

On the same time, that makes Kristina feel better.

This another idiot, thinking that it was her fault, Rose want to throw another punch for Kristina.

“Ah, I heard that you are fully okay, wanna come to my place tomorrow? Let’s make a celebration of your recovery.” Tumango lamang si Kris sa invitation ni Rose sa kaniya. “See ‘ya!” Rose waved at her then leave.

“I’m just a sixteen of age, I just hope that she will not bring her sake, that smells make me puke and it was a kind of something that if I take it once it will consume my mind.” She looked at the sky and smiled then take her walk going to her ward to pack up her things.

I just want to make this amazingly and enjoyable training with you…Master.

Inayos na niya lahat ng mga papeles niya sa hospital at hindi na hinintay pa ang kaniyang tito at ate na samahan siya pauwi sa kaniyang apartment. It doesn’t even matter. Deeply, they don’t care to each other. That’s her life, no emotion, no affection just like her condition.

Umalis na siya sa hospital at nang sasakay na sana siya ng taxi, may nakasakay na pala sa passenger’s seat nito. It was a girl with her school uniform.

“Yo!” she greeted Kristina like they are close with matching having the girly voice.

Huh?

“Who are you?” sumakay na si Kristina sa backseat at wala naman siyang paki-alam sa babae na ito. Umandar na ang taxi at sinabi niya na ang address.

“You…” Kristina looked at the back of that teenage girl, it looks like her world was ended because of its atmosphere.

“What?” she coldly replied. By that, that girl’s atmosphere had a doubled crashed.

She’s weird.

“Ah! You damn, Tina, how can you not recognized my lovely voice?!” she pouted and at the same time acts like a crying baby.

Kristina tried her best to remember that voice. Then, some name came at her mind.

“Die?” tanong agad ni Kristina sa kaniya.

“ASSHOLE! STOP CALLING ME THAT NAME! IT’S ZADIE! ZADIE!” that girl surely loud.

“Za¬-die, you used Tina from my name Kristina, then we are even.” Kalmadong wika ni Kristina at tumingin nalang sa labas ng bintana. It was refreshing seeing everyone outside and that makes her feel at ease. She just wants to take a nap and feel the atmosphere.

“Ughr! You really an alien.” Mahina naming wika ni Zadie.

Zadie saw Kristina taking a little nap, and she smiled.

“Yeah, that’s right. Just rest for a while, asshole.” Zadie’s feeling is in relieved. She know that Kristina is having a trouble in her life, and this is the only thing she could do, to make her feel that the world was still on her side, that she was still belonged here.

Zadie Pearl Mirabel. She was the same age as Kristina, they are not in the same class but their friendship was still there. Or should we called as they are BeastFriend, a different type of relationship.

Simula bata palang magkaibigan na sila, ngunit si Kristina lamang ang lagging nakakalimot sa lahat ng bagay. Kristina have this weird habit in life, always do training a physical thing and Zadie thought that Kristina wants to be a soldier someday, but time had passed, she realized that Kristina had different goal in life.

Well, all she could do is to support her at all and be on her side whenever it is. She don’t care if it is right or wrong, because every person have its own reason in life, sometimes wrong can be right as the reason came and right can be wrong as the judgement shout by the world to you.

That’s right, Zadie is Kristina’s friend. A friend that they don’t know if it will last long if some disaster came. She just want to protect her, she want to keep her alive, it was just…

Suddenly, her phone rang.

“Yo!” wika niya sa telepono.

“Oh? I thought you were dead?” sagot ng nasa kabilang linya. Hindi naman nag-react si Zadie doon dahil sanay naman na siya sa mga iyon.

“Idiot, I am still alive and I am the one who will kill you.” Sagot naman nito sa kabilang linya. It was like a threat but the person on the line was laughing and saying she was so scared. They really having fun teasing Zadie at all times. Zadie wait for it to stop laughing.

“Anyways, you are free this week? The team are having a trip vacation since it was academic break.” Pag-yaya nito sa kaniya. Well, it is better for worst. They have been burn by school works and add to that, they are having this gig filled their schedule on weekend, so this might be the week for relax.

“I’m in.” tugon ni Zadie.

It was already passed 8pm when they came in front of the house Kristina. Zadie was about to wake Kristina but it was sleeping peacefully. Well, she don’t have an option, she have to do this.

Zadie bumped her fist on Kristina’s head, she admit that it have a great impact that will wake Kristina’s soul.

“WHAT?!” singhal naman ng bagong gising na si Kristina.

“Asshole, pay your ride, we are in front of your house.” Wika naman ni Zadie.

“Oh.” Para naman natauhan si Kristina at nagbayad na. Bumaba na ito, at si Zadie rin.

Umalis na ang taxi at tumingin si Kristina kay Zadie.

“What the hell are you doing? I don’t have a food in the fridge and I don’t give a damn to a stray dog.” May pagkairita sa boses ni Kristina.

“Huh?” hinawakan ni Zadie si Kristina sa balikat at niyugyog ito. “What did you say? Me? Stray dog? Are you crazy??” inalog nito ng buong lakas dahilan para makakuha siya ng matinding suntok.

“Oh. My bad.” Mahinang wika ni Kristina, dahil naman sa ginawa niya nawalan ng malay si Zadie. “My hand was just moved on its own. But, Zadie was easy to knock out.” Pero imbes na buhatin at ipasok sa loob ng bahay, hinayaan niya lang ito sa labas.

“Sleep well, Die.” Wika nito at pumasok na sa bahay niya.

To be honest, this scene was always happened and Zadie will never put her feet on Kristina’s house without being knock-out. And she sometimes managed to wake up minutes after her down and she can go inside. But most of the time, Zadie wake up in morning outside of Kristina’s house with some stray dog licking her face, gross.

Kristina did not lock the door and gate for Zadie’s sake.

Pagkapasok palang niya ay agaad siyang pumunta ng kusina at uminom kaagad ng kaniyang paboritong juice.

“Wah, I am so refresh.” Wika nito habang nakaupo na sa gilid ng kusina.

Minutes later, she was wondering what was really happened to her at that time. As far she remember, that feeling was really weird and painful.

It feels like, her heart was being eaten and her mind was blank. But at some point, when was unconscious she saw some memories that she never had. Something weird and unexplainable.

All of her life, there was something wrong going on her. She want an answer and know more about herself.

She stopped thinking at the moment and goes towards her room. She was about to change her clothes when a brown enveloped fall when she get a t-shirt.

“This…” Kriistina was so curios about it, if she remember, this was given by her unknown classmate last month and she never open it since then. She finished her changing clothes first then sit on her bed.

While she was opening the seal, her phone rang.

It was an alarm for her project this week and its due will be on Wednesday. Now, she only have four days since today is Saturday.

Nairita nalang si Kristina at ibinalik ang envelop sa kaniyang cabinet, she have to finish her project first before deadline. Even though it was pain in ass, she have to. She still want to graduate and have a proper knowledge about anything.

Isang oras ang lumipas at wala pa sa kalahati ang kaniyang natatapos. She want to sleep but her mind was still into her project. It can’t be help. Her body and mind are not in sync.

Maya maya pa ay may nag-doorbell, pinuntahan niya ito at pagkabukas niya ng pinto ay nandoon ang isang lalaki. Nakita niyang bitbit nito ang natutulog na si Zadie.

“Tah,” napabuga nalang siya ng hangin dahil sa sitwasyon. Zadie was soaked and also the man. Ah, right it was raining outside. But, how come this Zadie still at sleep?

Kristina thinks she know who is this man, but she also think she’s not. But still, she invited him to get in to her house.

“Just put her in the sofa. Want some drinks?” she asked him for some tea while walking and removing dirt on the living room.

She didn’t have a chance to clean her house and it was troublesome, she might throw an important thing if she clean.

While cleaning, he suddenly grabbed her. Kristina halt for a moment and later, she looked at his eyes, coldy. But she can’t tell what was register on it.

Hmm, something strange to this guy. Maybe he have want something from her? Or a thing that was rarely interest.

She can feel the grip was pressing another force. And his breathing was getting loudly and having a hard to breath, she guessed.

“What? What do you want from me?” because of her question, the man immediately distanced from her.

Kristina grab her wrist and put some smooth pressure to lessen the pain, but still she was still acting normal like nothing happened.

“I-I’m sorry.” Wika ng lalaki at hindi ito makatingin sa kaniya.

You should be ashamed, grabbing woman this tightly? What a bullshit.

“Answer me,” wika naman ni Kristina at umupo. Habang ang lalaki naman ay nakatayo pa rin habang ang basa at mahaba nitong bangs ay natatabunan ang kaniyang mukha.

“N-Nothing…” sagot nito.

“Want to hook up?”

“No! It’s not that.”

“Sex?”

“No! It’s not!”

“Hickey?”

“No!”

“Breast?”

“No!”

“Kiss?”

“Stop it! That’s enough.”

“Eih? Why?” Kristina chuckles. Maybe she’ll kill time by teasing him. “You might enjoy it-“

The man suddenly kissed her, passionately and smooth. His hand was gripped on her shoulder and Kristina’s mind went blank, all she could hear was the man’s heart beats.

It was unexpected, but man will always be a man. By the desires, they keep on doing what they want and then use woman just like a disposable thing.

The man stopped, it looks like he was so shocked of what he did. Well, he was driven by his desire.

“I-I’m sorry.” Wika nito at halata sa galaw nito na naiilang.

Kristina was still blank, she could still remember it, but why?

“Why?” it feels strange. Kristina was so confused, there are scenes flashing on her mind.

“I am leaving.” Wika ng lalaki sabay alis ng bahay. Nakatayo lamang si Kristina habang naguguluhan.

When he kissed her, her mind filled with unfamiliar scenes, while her heart went crazy. She could even hear her heart beat until she find it is hard to breath.

“Why… why did you… leave….me-“ then she lost her consciousness.
