Lost in the Woods...Again
"Tris? Where the hell are you?"
I shouted through the forest.
"How on earth do you freaking get lost! It's not that hard to follow simple directions!"
"Sorry Rose! I'm here!"
She called from behind.
"Good grief where have you been?"
I turned and asked.
"I'm not exactly sure, I stumbled across a brotherhood sanctuary though."
She said while starting to walk back to the rest of the sisterhood who lived in the side of a mountain.
We started to walk home when all of this sudden I turned around and she was gone.
"Ugh! Tris?! Where did you go now? I'm going back home. Be back by sundown."
I yelled from where I was standing then headed back home.
"Hey Rose, what's up?"
Amber said as she threw a dagger at a target in the wall.
"Welcome home sister."
Said Grace with her formalities and shyness.
She backed away back into the darkness.
She was known for her sneaking skill.
"Sissy!"
Elizabeth said as she ran up and jumped on me.
Elizabeth was my little sister.
She goes by Lizzy most of the time. Our father left my mother and us here in the mountains a long time ago.
I was only 6 years old and my sister wasn't born yet.
My mother gave birth to her shortly after and we had tried so hard to survive everyday.
One after another girls would come in and help us.
That's when Grace and Amber got welcomed into the clan.
My mother died when I turned 10 years old.
I then started taking on all responsibility of the sisterhood and my sister.
I've been a mother to her all these years.
It was nightfall and Tris wasn't back.
I was beginning to worry.
Well there was no sense looking for her in the dark. So I decided to call it a night and get some rest.
Everyone usually slept up in cloth hanging from a ceiling or on the ground in stacks of leaves or whatever other bedding we could find.
We had a fire going.
It was a cold night.
Everyone fell asleep and I was up staring at the stars as usual.
The cold didn't really bother me much.
I gazed out wondering if there was more to life then just killing.
I stayed up until the moon was fully in the sky and above me every night. Not knowing what the actual time was but knowing how the moon and sun worked as clocks of time.
I woke up bright and early as I normally do, the sun just barely make it over the the horizon.
I left the den to go and set out to find my friend who was lost in the woods...again.
