You had watched as Sophie giggled with Ruby, who was pitching. "Wait! I call a time-out!" Steven yelled and walked over to the two. You nodded and beckoned the rest of the Rubies over, to which they immediately obliged, almost running to your side.

"Rubies, you guys are doing so well! Though I'd just like to say, watch out for any of their tactics, they may be planning something. Just be careful, My little Rubies." You said, hugging the short gems, who smiled brightly at the praise, and nodded competitively. "Yes our [Y/N]!" They said confidently in unison.

Once the game resumed, there was a new, tense aura around the players of the game, as the humans on stand-by watched with nervous eyes. You however watched with keen and soft eyes, you had an unshakable feeling that what lies the barn would be kept under wraps, for now.

Doc threw the ball, Sophie swung and missed, earning a strike. The humans wore tense expressions. Along with Ruby for some reason...

Ruby threw the ball back to Doc, making her grin.

Doc threw the ball again, Sophie missed again, earning yet another strike.

Ruby spoke to Sophie softly, though you couldn't hear what they said from the bench. Sophie responded through gritted teeth. Ruby smiled softly and responded to her.

Doc smirked and lit the ball on fire, throwing it toward the two. Sophie swung the bat, making contact with the flaming ball. Suddenly the bat froze over with ice and knocked the ball out of the park. Sophie ran over to the bases, making Ruby and the humans jump for joy.

Army angrily took off her mitten, throwing it to the ground, and stomping on the poor item. Leggy sat down, hanging her head sadly.

"Come to me!" Ruby cheered as Sophie got closer and closer to the home base.
Once home base was nothing but a few steps away, Sophie jumped into Ruby's arms, making them tumble away from the home base. Laughing as they glowed brightly, combining into one.

Once the light died down, a new, laughing, maroon figure was shown. The figures laughing died down and turned into a "oops..." on her part.

"They're gems!" Doc sheathed, her fist balling up automatically.

"we've been tricked!" Army yells, was it too late to bash their heads in until their form broke?

"What a turn of events!" Navy comments, putting her hands on her cheeks. She was certainly not expecting this.

Eyeball only growls muttering a, "so this is what our [Y/N] was talking about..."

"Huh? W-what?" Leggy said, to caught up in her own loss notice the things around her.

"Hm." You hummed slowly. It was indeed a turn of events. To them that is.

The maroon gem stood up with the rest of the gems to back them up. "Sorry guys, but games over." The maroon gem said, making your tense and stand up from the bench, and in a flash you were next to the fuming Rubies. If these gems laid even a finger on your Rubies little heads, you would have come out to play. And it would not be pretty.

The Rubies themselves were pretty mad. Well pretty mad would be a dangerous understatement.

"That's it!"
Doc sheathed, leaping and landing on Leggy, knocking the air out of the red gem.
"Rubies combine!"
She yelled, as all the Rubies got into position and fusing, gaining a bright light.

As the light died down, a giant Ruby took the place of the smaller ones prior. The giant Ruby roared, getting ready to squish the gems before her.

"WAIT!"

Er...was getting ready. Everyone turned to the barn, to see a green gem with surprisingly triangular hair rushing towards them, failing a lot of times before coming in between the gems and the giant Ruby facing the much more bigger threat.

"It's me you want right!? I'm not gonna stand by and watch my friends suffer because of my problems!" The green gem said, suffering under the pressure of your blank, cold gaze.

"Awe Peri loves us!" Steven cooed happily. You placed your hand on the giant Ruby as she glared at the new gem.
"Are you the Peridot assigned to the failed earth mission?"
The giant Ruby asked.
"Well I wouldn't say Failed..."
The green gem was cut off.
"Where is Jasper?!"
The gems tensed.
"Jasper... we know where Jasper is..."
The Peridot looked over to Earl, who shook her head slowly.
"Well."

Your voice felt cold and made the gems tense up again.
The Peridot started to stutter hoping that the giant Ruby and you would lose interest and leave, though it only made the Ruby angrier.

"Neptune! She's on Neptune!"
Steven suddenly blurted out, cutting off the green gems stalling. The giant Ruby's eyes peirced into Steven's as you crossed your arms, did he really think your Rubies would fall for a stupid lie like tha-
"Well why didn't you say so!"
Nevermind.

A bright light came from beside you as the Rubies defused. "We all here?" Doc asked, counting the Rubies and herself. The Rubies went back to the ship, all making different comments.
"

Let's move out soldiers!"
Army said, making her way to the ship.

"Neptune, what a lovely-sounding planet!"

Navy smiled, skipping to the open ship door.
"But- but we just got here, yesterday!" Leggy whined as Doc took ahold of her hand, dragging her to the ship.
"Come on newbie!"

Eyeball stayed behind with the gems. Eyeball bowed, thanking the gems then she turned. "Come on my [Y/N]." Eyeball said walking to the ship and waiting for you to come. You smiled softly, shaking your head.

"Sorry, I can't come with you this time."
The Rubies paused, staring at you as their faces fell. "Wha-what do you mean?" Navy asked as Leggy whizzed past her, the rest of the Rubies following after her. You crouched, catching the Rubies as they rammed into you.

"Is this goodbye?"
Leggy asked, looking up into your hidden eyes as tears filled her own. She didn't want to leave her Sapphire, non of the Rubies did.

You look forward at the ship with a small frown. You smile again, looking back down into the Rubies eyes. "Only for now, my Rubies.." You murmured, sighing shakily. "But we don't wanna leave you!" Navy cried, hugging your torso tighter. You patted Navy's head.

"I promise you that in time, we will cross paths again." You smiled giving on last hug before the Rubies pulled back. Eyeball bowed a bit shakily. "Thank you for letting us accompany you, my [Y/N]." Eyeball thanked, you smiled softly again.

"Even though it was a surprise, I enjoyed the time we spent together." You smiled. Eyeball sniffed and the Rubies all went to the ship. It flew out the ground the door still open. "Goodbye, for now my [Y/N]!" Leggy yelled, standing on the door of the ship, waving to you. You smiled, waving back. Warmth trickling down your face.
