6: baseball...I guess?
*unedited*
Soon the Rubies and more 'humans' were lined up against each other, Steven raised his hand dramatically.
"We're the humans! Steven!"
"Earl!"
A tall 'human' with paper white skin, blue eyes and pale peach hair introduced, a competitive smile adorned on her face, you could almost see a pearl on her forehead under the cap she wore.
"Amy!"
A short 'human' with violet skin and almost white hair introduced, her face was almost similar to one a cat would make as she crossed her hands almost protectively around her chest.
"Bob."
A 'human' with plain blue skin and darker blue hair introduced with no feeling, her face void of any emotion as her hands fell to her sides in a giving up kind of motion.
"And Sophie!"
A 'human' with teal light blue skin and even lighter long hair introduced some what flirtily, even though her eyes were hidden, it seemed like she was winking to the Ruby with her gem on her hand, which made her literally heat up, and making all the sweat on her evaporate.
Beside the sweaty Ruby, Doc nodded. "Understood, we are the Rubies consisting of!"
You started clapping with a smile, saying something similar to a, "go Rubies!" That made the Rubies self-esteem grow.
"Ruby!"
Doc said, crossing her arms at the 'human' team, a competitive smirk on her face.
"Ruby!"
"Ruby!"
"Ruby!"
"Ruby!"
"And Ruby!"
Leggy said lastly, waving to you whom sat on the bench holding a sign, you made last minute that read, 'go Rubies!' In neat/messy lettering. You waved at the Ruby, whom shyed away immediately. After Steven explained the rules to the Rubies, it was now Ruby's turn to bat.
You caught the wink that Ruby sent the pitchers, Steven's way. Steven threw the ball, Ruby missed it, and Amy caught the ball, calling the first strike.
"WHAT!?"
Army yelled angrily balling her fists up. You took ahold of Army's balled up heated fist, rubbing it reassuringly, making her calm slightly. Amy threw the ball back to Steven.
Steven threw the ball again, Ruby missed once more earing another Strike, Army growled, her skin becoming hot to the touch.
You lifted the angry fireball from the steaming bench, onto your leg and began bouncing the said leg, making her attention divert from the game to your bouncing leg, bouncing her up and down at a quick pace.
"What are you doing, my [Y/N]?"
Army asked, her brows furrowed as she felt her previous anger slip away, and the hotness of her skin cooling to a warm temperature. "Cooling you down." You simply said softly.
You quit bouncing your leg and placed her back on the bench after seeing her angry Aura dissipate. However it didn't last long, hearing the words that uttered out of Ruby's mouth. "Hm, I guess I'm out." Ruby shrugged, smirking slightly as if she planed this.
This made Army extremely pissed as she got off the bench. Before you could say anything, Army punched Ruby harshly in the arm. "You swung to low!" Army hissed. "Ruby!" Army looked at you, seeing your angry frown and the Aura around you, made her stand straight.
"Play nice." You said, crossing your arms, making the Ruby with her gem on her shoulder nod quickly. "Er.. do it like this." Ruby made a dash to the bench as Army picked up the bat, her nervousness immediately washing away as she saw Steven hesitantly throw the ball toward the Ruby.
Army growled as the ball neared and swung, hitting the ball over and out of range. While the humans were distracted, she ran to each of the bases. Circling the bases and aggressively stomping her foot on the home base.
You clapped, a small smile dancing on your lips as Army looked your way, like a dog looking for praise from it's owner which she had clearly gotten, fore her aggressive snarl formed into a competitive grin. "A-And that's called a home run." Steven shakily said as Army ran up to you, jumping into your opened arms for a praise filled hug with you sneakily slipping a white evil eye charm anklet onto her ankle.
As the tutorial game progressed, there were a few key moments, like when it was Navy's turn to bat. Navy had hit the ball, but was caught by Earl. Navy was still praised with a hug and a 'next time you'll get them.' By you. Another key moment was Eyeball getting tagged by Steven. Eyeball was still gifted a hug and a praise as well.
Now it was the real game, Navy had a front row seat on your lap as you slipped a red Evileye charm bracelet onto her warm wrist. Once you were done, your hands wrapped around her torso and your head rested on her toasty afro hair as Navy's cheeks dusted a rosy red hue and her body started to get hot to the touch, not like you minded though.
Your hidden eyes drifted from the hot being to the Baseball game. Doc was pitching and Amy was batting. Doc throw the ball and in the blink of an eye, or a pop of the blowed bubble gum that was in Amy's mouth. Amy swung the bat, hitting the ball out of the park, and super soniced her way around the four bases, laying coolly once she stopped on the home base.
"Wow that purple human's really cool!" Leggy pointed out happily. "Not cooler then my [Y/N], of course." Leggy said afterwards, shooting a glance behind her, at you. You smiled and waved at the red being, making her giggle and turn back to the game, to which Steven was pushing Amy out of the arena to which Sophie immediately took her place.
"Hey Ruby." Sophie said, snickering and flicking her long light blue hair out of the way, getting ready to back and missing it completely. The 'humans' gave a confused sound looking at the two, that seemed to be flirting.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" Ruby smirked, Sophie chuckled, missing another ball and getting another strike. "I don't know, I don't get off planet much." The two burst out laughing.
"What are they doing?" Steven asked, stressfully grabbing his unruly curly hair. "Flirting." Bob said, bearly any emotion detected in her voice. "Strike three!" The pair stopped laughing, nervously looking around at the teams, both their cheeks gaining a darker hue to them.
As the games progressed, the Ruby and light blue haired 'human' were repeatedly caught talking and Flirting with each other.
During half time, you were practically covered in the five Rubies warmth as you showered them in praises for how well they were doing, and to keep it up.
Well, not everyone on the bench enjoyed your presence. While you were being smothered by Rubies, there was one Ruby chatting, and flirting, with Sophie. Until Sophie was dragged away by Steven mid-conversation. Leaving Ruby to have no one to talk to.
"Ruby?" You said, gaining the lone Ruby's attention, making her turn toward you. You made a beckoning hand motion. "Would you like to join?" The Ruby shook her head uncomfortably. "I'll pass." She said, Doc glared.
"Don't you have manners!?" Doc hissed, Ruby looked confused and panicked slightly as the Rubies began to notice her mistake. "Thats our Sapphire you're talkin' to! Show some respect!" Army angrily demanded, sitting up from your grasp, her temperature growing drastically.
"Now, now, it's quite alright-." You gently said, but was immediately cut off. "Its not okay, your clarity!" Army yelled, as everyone started to show slight aggression.
"Apologize!" Eyeball yelled, pointing a finger at the now panicking Ruby. "I'm- I'm sorry, your clarity!" Ruby said, you waved a dismissive hand.
"It's okay, I promise." You smiled, holding the group of burning Rubies from jumping the poor lone Ruby. "Now now, let's not get to riled up. The games are starting back again." You cooed gently, giving the Rubies in your hold a tight squeeze.
As the games progressed so did the Rubies competitiveness. The more they all gained praises from you, the more they wished to win. Soon the prize of looking into the barn had fazed away from their minds, and the validation from their 'Sapphire' when they win, the validation from you when they win, was left.
