16:Ones Back!
Your days repeated. You'd wake up, eat, prepare your ritual, wait until night, and do your ritual.
But the cold would always catch you off guard. It was sudden and freezing taking away any warmth where ever it went. You'd always stutter, falter, or tense. And then that would be the end. The ritual would stop over a inconvenience like that.
If your mother was here, she'd tell you that it was okay. If your father was here, he'd tell you that you weren't trying hard enough.
You balled your hand into a fist as you stood in your circle. Another failed attempt. You know it wasn't the items you used. You've used then many of times and she got successful results. It didn't make sense.
Your head began to ache. To much thinking after a ritual. You sighed and walked over to your kitchen. Best to make some tea for your headache.
You walked into your kitchen, going over to a taller cabinet, you grabbed your favorite tea, [F/t] and your favorite flower, [F/f].
Grabbing a moon designed tea set, you grabbed the kettle and poured water into it. You placed the kettle on the stove and heated it up before placing the tea and petals in it.
Suddenly, you felt a shock go through you. You're supposed to, no.. Have to be somewhere. Right. Now.
Leaving your tea on the stove, you dashed to the door and placed your shoes on quickly. You pulled open your door and ran out the woods, the door bearly shutting behind you.
Once you made it to Steven's residents, which was on a beach, you were panting as the two and a half gems looked at you in confusion. "[Y/n]!" Navy yelled, bounding over to you and jumping in your arms. You held the small warm Ruby close to your chest as you cuddled her.
After a while you pulled away looking over Navy when you spotted a little something.
Your symbol, a six pointed star, seemed like a clip around her shirt. You smiled and brushed over the symbol with you hand.
"What happened? Did a meteor hit you while you were making your descent?" You asked, Navy blushed a deep red, her eyes filled with embarrassment.
"When I was falling, I think I landed wrong and destabilized, but atleast I got to change my form."
Navy giggles lightly, wearing an embarrassed smile. "Still, I'm happy to see you." You spoke, hugging the small gem in your arms.
"This is perfect, you can stay with [Y/n]!" Steven spoke up with a bright smile. Navy was about to correct Steven until you spoke up. "That would be perfect, come on ruby, I left some tea on the stove." You said before turning.
Not without catching a glimse of Garnet staring at you. Sometimes you wondered what she was thinking underneath those shades of hers.
Little do you know the other was wondering that same about you.
----
You opened your door to your home, quickly walking inside. You closed your door, locking it behind you. You were hit with the smell of [F/t] and the blaring sound of a screaming kettle.
Navy covered her ears at the sound as you placed her down and went to the kitchen. You turned off the burner and took the kettle off the stove and onto the tray. You grabbed the tray and walked to the table. You placed the tray on the table as Navy hopped on a seat.
You took a tea cup and placed one infront of Navy, and placed another infront of your seat. Taking the kettle, you poured [F/t] into Navy's cup and then yours, a few Petals falling into each cup.
Navy looked into the cup, picking at a Petal with confusion. "Why'd you add pieces of the earth into the things you consume, My [Y/n]?" Navy asked as you sat down, placing the kettle back on the tray.
"Aesthetic." You responded, taking a sip of your tea. Navy watched you for a moment before taking the cup in her hands, sipping at the beverage. "Are you okay, Ruby?" You asked pulling away from the cup and turning to look at Navy.
"It just...feels weird, without everyone." Navy spoke, placing the tea cup on the table and fiddling with her hands as she looked to the ground.
"It was really cold...Drifting in space." Navy frowned as you listened. "I-I really missed you." Navy looked up at you, smiling gently. You smiled softly at Navy and pulled her into a hug.
"I would love to savor this time we have together, but I have to sleep. Do you want to watch the television while I sleep?" You asked as Navy looked up at you from your chest.
"Television?" You lifted Navy up with ease as you got up and left for the living room, leaving your tea. You entered the living room and placed Navy on the couch. You grabbed the remote and clicked on a channel.
It seemed to be a cheesy romance, but Navy seemed to be interested. "If you want to change the channel at any time just press these buttons. I'm going to go take a shower." You said, placing the remote on the coffee table and heading off to your bathroom.
---
Once you finished showering, you put on your night robe and walked over to the living room, seeing Navy was still infatuated with the romance on the TV screen, you walked to the dining room and grabbed Navy's cup of tea that was half finished and walked back to the living room.
You walked over to the coffee table and placed the tea cup on the table before returning back to the dining room. You took your empty cup of tea and placed it in the kitchen sink. You quickly washed your dish and dried your hands before retiring to your room.
You flopped on your bed and turned on your back, placing the covers over your form and closing your eyes, welcoming slumber that came rather quickly.
