You leaned on your porch, heaving a heavy sigh as you looked up at the dark sky. "Where are you?" You asked to the sky heavily sighing, you've been doing that alot lately.

You lifted up from the porch, sighing once more. You entered your house, something inside you told you to visit the barn tomorrow. You just hoped it had something to do with the Rubies. You thought, tucking yourself into bed.

You awoke to the afternoon light shining in your window. You got up from your bed, feeling a bit more energized then usual.

This must be the day your Rubies will get returned to you. You smiled softly at the thought. You showered and got ready for the day, dressing in a [F/C] shirt and a long [F/C] skirt. You added some accessories to your outfit and left your house, a slight skip in your step.

It was fairly easy to get to the barn, despite it being a long ways away, since it was the day, nothing really got in your way.

When you got there, boy were your instincts right. The Rubies were there! However, they were each enclosed in a ball of water with Lapis, the water gem, you had met in curtisy of Steven. Most of the Rubies were angry, steaming the water they resided in, the others were just very saddened.

However their mood changed once they caught sight of you. The Rubies immediately went to follow you, they wanted to greet you with a loud, proper greeting, a hug that would give you all the love you deserve, however they only hit the water like a goldfish hitting the glass of a tank.

You frowned at the Rubies immobility, and went up to Lapis. "Hey Lapis, what happened?" You asked, attempting to make small talk.

"Hi [Y/N], the Rubies came back with their ship. They were really mad, so I had to give them a time out." Lapis says, irritating you slightly.

"Okay, well, do you think you could let them out?" You asked, a slight edge to your voice. Lapis hummed at your question.

"Not until the gems get here, sorry." She shrugged nonchalantly. You irritatedly smiled at Lapis, your Aura giving off a 'This bitch.' Kind of feel.

"Okay. Could you atleast lower them to my height." You said, trying to free your voice of any irritation.

Lapis looked at you for a moment before shrugging. "Sure, I don't care." Lapis says, lowering the bubbled Rubies to your height.

You smiled at Lapis chipping a 'thank you!' Before walking to where to Rubies were. "Hi," You smiled softly.

"can you hear me?" The Rubies nodded, Leggy went to touch the ball she was in only to get knocked back in the center of the water ball.

"I asked Lapis to let you guys out, but she says we have to wait for the other gems." You say, smiling gently at the Rubies. "As long as we're with you." You could bearly hear Doc say through the water.

You cooed, smiling softly as you placed your hand on the water ball. Doc replicated, placing her hand on the water ball, where yours was. You smiled at the affection.

<with Steven>

Steven walked with Amethyst, a tense air around them. The two planned to go back to the barn and tell the rest of the gems what had happened with Jasper and the...corruption...

Steven paused as he stared at the barn. The Rubies were back! Steven paled, remembering the lie he told to keep them away. Steven rushed up to Lapis.

"What's going on, Lapis!?" He asked, quite frantic.

"Oh hey Steven, these little guys were really mad when they were first here so I had to give them a time out. Good thing [Y/N] came when she did, they seemed to calm down when they saw her." Lapis says, shrugging.

Steven let out a sigh of relief when he saw you in the middle of the water balls that trapped the Rubies, keeping up a lively conversation with them, dispite them being trapped in water.

You looked over to Steven, to see him beckoning you over where the crystal gems were. You sighed, your smile faltering.

"I have to go." The Rubies immediately deflated at this. "but I'll be right back." The Rubies looked back with trusting eyes and nodded. You smiled and got up, walking over to the gems as they conversed.

"Let's figure out why their here."
"Can I pick!?" Steven says excitedly. "Uhm... Let's try... Leggy!" The gems looked at Steven with confused eyes. "I named the Rubies based on their gem placements."

"So that's Leggy, Navy, Eyeball, Army, and....Doc." Steven says, pointing to each Ruby and their gems. The gems 'ooh'ed quietly.

"Alrighty then, Leggy come on down!" Lapis says, lowering the bubble that held Leggy. The bubble popped and Leggy just sat there for a few minutes.

"Why are you here?" Steven asked, Leggys mind went blank. "Uhm... I... don't....know...?" Leggy said, tilting her head as she drew a blank.

"Understandable, I tend to forget why we go on missions all the time." Steven draws a parallel. "I'll...just...[Y/N]!" Leggy raced over to you, hugging you with all her might. You picked her up and twirled around, hugging Leggy close in a happy rejoicing.

Steven looked back at Lapis, then at the bubbles of Rubies. "Navy..."

Navy's bubble popped. Navy stood up immediately as the gems asked the same question.

"If I remember correctly we were..." Navy looked over at you and blushed a blood red color upon seeing you watching her with a patient smile with Leggy by your side.

Navy stuttered and chuckled as she averted her eyes, blushing furiously. Navy sprinted to you hugging your leg and burying her face in your knee. You smiled widely and patted her head, scooping her up into a hug. "I missed all of you greatly." You said, tightening your hug slightly.

"Army..?" Steven was getting more nervous by the second.

"I'm not tellin you nothing!" Army yells, crossing her arms over her new symbol, hoping the traitorous gems wouldn't notice.

"Not even me?"  Your voice asked, blurring Army's mind, for only a second though. Army blushed, muttering something along the lines of, "only you.." or something, before she came up to you, hugging you tightly.

You placed Navy down, picking up Army to give her a tight hug.

"Eyeball..??"

Eyeball only scowled at the gems once she was released from her prison. Eyeball walked over to you, hugging your legs tightly. Her face softens as she was lifted up by you, being held close like someone holding something dear to their heart.

"I guess Doc is our only option..."

Doc was lowered to the ground and the water bubble popped, keeping Doc on had feet. "Where's Jasper!? You said 'she's on Neptune' and we check but she wasn't there! And to add insult, you hurt our Sapphire alot! Do ya know that!? Why I outta-..."

Doc cut herself off, stopping herself from going on a rampage as she saw you in perfect condition, with four Rubies by your sides. She sighed angrily, inhaling in and out of her mouth.

You wouldn't approve of Doc throwing hands with these Crystal gems.

"Just. Where's Jasper. You don't wanna make me ask twice." Doc said, straining her voice. The Rubies cheered a loud 'yeah!' And quickly got into a fusing position.

"Hey! I'm right here." A gruff, but feminine sounding voice called from off to the side. Everyone looked over to the voice to see a purple colored Jasper, obviously Amethyst, crossing her arms.

There was silence, apart from Pearl going, "there's no way this would work..."

you sighed as you watched the Rubies stare at the shape-shifting Amethyst.

"Hey look it's Jasper!"
