She Hailed To The King Baby.

Ash and the others stood outside of the Dearborn bookstore window display.

"Oh no, that's not good." Annie said, pointing to the book covers.

"Ash what does this mean?" Jenny asked.

"It means everybody alive is in deep shit anyone who gets their hands on that book and reads it will put out the welcome mat for the dark ones to enter our world and have a buffet of souls to feast on." Ash replied as he looked at the group.

"So what do we do?"Jenny asked.

"We have to find the book the real book and figure out how to get us back home not this ghost town." Annie said.

"Where do we start?" Bashir asked.

"It has to be here somewhere I say we search the whole town till we find it, but we do it together we can't afford to split up."Ash said.

"Ash I just want to say I'm sorry I know I was there when Carolynn become one of those things I didn't want to face it so I convinced myself it didn't happen then when you started having the nightmares I still wanted to not believe it.

"I honestly thought going to the cabin would help but I was so wrong." Jenny replied.

"Jenny stop this wasn't your fault you didn't know what this was." Ash said.

The group decided to go store to store and get any supplies they could find.

They went toward the door to the bookstore surprised it was open walking in they look around seeing no one inside they looked around.

"You guys find anything?" Mustapha asked.

"Nope, nada a big fat goose egg. "Ash replied.

"Okay, let's move on to the next building." Kent ordered.

The group gathered in front of the next building over carefully searching as they went Basir gave Jenny a machete and a gun.

They searched to once again find nothing not a person or deadite in sight.

Hours past and still no luck.

"Come on we need to find a place to make camp." Mustapha said.

The group continued to search until they noticed the sun going down, taking shelter in the gun store they ate their food supplies.

And stocking up on ammo.

As night fell the sound of manic laughter filled the night air.

"Hmm, seems we aren't alone after all." Ash whispered.

"No, it appears we aren't." Annie replied.

"Get ready, if we are gonna get out of here and back home, we have to kill those fuckers." Kent said.

The group looked out the window the streets had Deadites flooding into town.

Carefully they exit the back door and sneaking around the building Deadites turned hearing the sound of Ash's chain saw.

Deadites charged forward Ash and the others did the same as a hail of bullets hit wave after wave of Deadites.

The group moved as one killing Deadites as they went.

"Keep moving." Ash ordered.

They moved a little further into town.

Mowing down Deadites as they went along.

Jenny turned to see Deadites closing in raising her machete she sliced into one shooting at another enraged shouts filled the air as gunfire filled the air.

"Come on keep going."Mustapha said.

The town that had been completely deserted now had blood stained body parts littered the streets.

They continued to kill and search the buildings as they went.

"Ash we are gonna swallow your soul." A shrill female voice taunted.

"Come and get it bitch!" Ash shouted.

"Ash no!" Jenny shouted.

Kent grabbed Jenny around the waist, pulling her back as more Deadites came toward them.

"Let him be now Jenny he can handle this." Kent ordered

Jenny looked on outraged, but focused on the task at hand turning away from Kent, Jenny killed a Deadite that lunged at her killing another after that.

Ash continued to fight the Deadite that continued to taunt Ash behind the Deadites lay the book.

"Hey look there is the book."Bashir whispered.

"They aren't about to let us get it that easy we are going to have to kill them all." Annie said.

"Are you serious?" Jenny asked.

"I'm afraid so Jenny it's us or them and I'd rather it be them." Babette replied.

The battle continued with each body downed, they got closer to the book and to the Deadites guarding it.

The Deadites were relentless in their pursuit of living souls and wanting to roam the living world and it showed with vigor as they continued to fight.

Their clothes were stained with black blood and small scratches having to block an onslaught of blows.

The girls engaged in their own heated battles trying to be aware of their surroundings.

They each were trying to pay attention to things going on around them and protect themselves at the same time.

Ash swung his chain saw clad hand cleaving at the neck of the taunting Deadite a shower of blood hit Ash in the face.

Ash brushed the back of his hand  against his face, wiping the blood from his face.

Pushing forward, killing any monster in his path.

Grunts groans screams and wails  rang out in the midst of gunfire and a chain saw buzzing.

Ash's face was drenched in sweat heavily breathing, he continued to unleash his rage on the Deadites as they fell at his feet.

"Come on we are almost there. "Mustapha shouted.

They now stood meters away from the book in front of it stood a row of Deadites.

The group stood, weapons drawn, waiting for the Deadites to move with an unholy screech the Deadites charged at Ash and the others.

Gunfire sounded through the night. When the last Deadites fell Ash grabbed the book.

"Let's get back to the gun store ill see if I can get us back home." Annie said.

They turned, heading back the way they came.

They go into the back door of the storeroom locking it behind them Annie sits and begins to read the book.

Ash sits in a corner next to Jenny, who had her gun in her hand beside her.

"Annie's gonna get us back home Jenny. "Ash said in a soothing voice.

The others sat talking in whispers.

Annie studied the passages of the book carefully the hours seemed to pass by when she shot from her seat okay I found it." Annie exclaimed.

"Okay Annie do your thing." Ash said.

Taking a deep breath Annie recited the words aloud and a vortex similar to the one that sent the evil back opened before their eyes, pulling them in sending them spinning and hitting the ground with a thud.

They were back outside the cabin going inside getting their bags the loaded up their vehicles and headed back to Ash and Jenny's place.

The group walked into the front door sitting in the living room."We made it."Jenny exclaimed.

"Yeah we're safe now."Kent replied.

"But for how long the moment that recording or the book gets read we will be screwed." Jenny said.

"We will cross that bridge when we come to it." Babette replied.

Jenny went to the bedroom getting a change of clothes and headed to the bathroom getting ready to take a shower.

The others stayed in the living room talking and trying to figure out what their next move should be.

After awhile Jenny returned going toward the kitchen fixing plates of food handing them to each person in the room.

After which the others changed their clothes and returned to the living room.

Kent with his two children sat across from Ash and Jenny. "Ash I think we need to give Jenny weapons training." Kent said.

"Yeah she did alright back there." Ash replied.

"Hey wait a minute, shouldn't you be asking me if I want that?"Jenny asked.

"He meant no offense to you Jenny for your second encounter with them you held your own which is amazing in and of itself." Mustapha replied.

"The first time I was frozen in fear but even though this scared me too I couldn't afford to freeze up.

"Not when it could have killed us all." Jenny said.

"Jenny no one here is judging you I mean look at my situation my parents had a strong thirst for knowledge when my dad found that book we were all so excited to learn what mysteries and knowledge it held never once thinking that just by reading aloud the passages would put all of mankind in grave danger." Annie replied.

"Annie you and your parents didn't know about that." Ash said.

"No but it will never erase the part we played in this." Annie replied.

"Come on we survived that's all that matters at this point."Bashir said.

The group was silent for a while just sitting in quiet contemplation the Alzeez siblings knew that this wasn't going to be the last time they faced off with the evil deep down  Ash himself knew that as well but he wasn't about to bring that up now.

For Jenny she was a nervous wreck feeling so guilty for allowing herself to feel that Ash was crazy when he had saved her life and then again suggesting that they return to the cabin.

She didn't know that possessed severed hand would thrust them into a life or death battle.

"The important thing for us to do now is protect the book and make sure it never falls into the wrong hands."Mustapha replied.

"Your right brother it's clear we have to stay close to Ash because if we don't this thing will become another shitshow." Babette said.

"You ain't whistling Dixie." Ash replied.

"Then that settles it we need to stick close together." Kent said.

The group camped out in the living room teaching Jenny other tricks she could use to protect herself.

Everyday was the same training Jenny Kent even teaching her as well as the others his military training.

They were in no immediate danger as long as no one played the recording or get ahold of the book to translate the passages they would be ok right Ash thought.

In the realm of the darkones they  waited centuries they could wait now but they would always prepare for their chance to devour more souls of the living.

The darkones stood around a boiling cauldron of black liquid similar to the old crone that attacked them back in 1300ad.

"Ash we will see you and your little friends soon." The female Deadite promised as she looked into the black shimmering liquid that acted as a mirror to the living world.

An eerie feeling that was very familiar came over him one that he felt eight years ago.

"Ash are you alright?" Jenny asked.

"Yeah it's just a feeling." Ash replied.

"What feeling? "Jenny asked.

"The feeling like something or someone walked on your grave he's connected to those things"Amani replied.

"What do you mean by that?"Jenny asked.

"Ash was temporarily possessed before we all got knocked into the past it was only the necklace that he had given Linda that broke the evils hold but it marked him in a way allowing him to get a feel for them. "Mustapha replied.

Jenny looked at Ash worry evident in her eyes.

"Stop let's leave this for now it's upsetting Jenny we all need to take a breather and try to not let this consume us. "Amani said.

The group said nothing else they all had jobs to do and the were the only ones who could do it.

Annie for her part took out her research that was collected after the first incident.

Mustapha and his siblings researched more about their ancestor and what they could find about the darkones.

Night fell and everyone went to bed for the evening Jenny tossed and turned in her sleep her mind  taking her back to two nights ago when the evil force took her from the cabin and the unsettling fear that gripped her as the shrill high pitched voice taunted her and laughed at her fear stricken face.

"Jenny shhhh sweetheart it's alright your safe." Ash whispered into Jenny's  hair as he held Jenny close rubbing her back as she soundlessly sobbed into his shirt.

The others had heard the commotion Annie went to the kitchen taking a pot from the cupboard she poured milk into it putting it on the stove til it got warm again going to the cupboard get a glass she pour the milk in the glass putting the pot in the sink she walks carefully to Ash and Jenny's bedroom.

Annie lightly knocks on the door.

"Yeah!" Ash shouts.

"Ash it's me Annie I brought some warm milk for Jenny it should help her sleep." Annie said.

"Okay thanks Annie." Ash replied taking the milk from Annie going over to his bed he hands the glass to Jenny who drinks it without complaint Jenny puts the empty glass on the nightstand settling herself against her pillows she almost instantly fell back to sleep.

Ash rolled over facing away from  Jenny closing his eyes he too fell asleep.

Annie returned to her little cot closing her eyes she fell asleep almost as quickly as her head hit the pillow.

The next morning everyone ate their breakfast they knew that Ash and Jenny would have to return to their jobs The siblings didn't have to worry being that they were self employed and had income constantly for their history with the dark ones and Annie joined them working alongside them.

Ash looked in the mirror something he didn't do all the time seeing as how an evil version of himself tried to strangle him after he buried Linda.

He half expected to hear the crazed laughter before Evil Ash appeared to finish what he started.

"Ash you crazy bastard he's gone you blew his ass up back in 1300ad he's not gonna jump out of this mirror get it together Jenny needs you they all need you. "Ash scolded himself.

Ash left the bathroom moments later locking eyes with the group who all turned to look at him as he stood in the hallway looking at them.

"So what's the plan?" Ash asked.

"The plan is to fully know our enemy so far we've faught this evil three times and each time we have we learned they are manipulative arrogant gluttonous and relentlessly greedy." Bashir replied.

"Well sure yeah that's obvious but I have to wonder what their endgame is let's say we lose and they get the jackpot prize of every single living soul on earth effectively making mankind extinct how will the survive that without turning on each other? " Ash asked.

"I can only imagine they would either save some humans alive to deal with their hunger problem or eat each other. "Amani replied.

"Well I don't intend to let things get that deep in the shit." Ash said.

"We just have to be ready when the time comes again. "Annie replied.

The group nodded in silent agreement.

For Jenny's part she still had many questions about this mess more so then answers which caused a war within her wanting to know everything but at the same time she dreaded knowing anymore at all.

"So Annie how were you able to cope after this?" Jenny asked.

"To be honest with you struggled with it before we all went back to 1300ad father asked me to find a way to save his soul and I couldn't do that so I felt guilty about that and about mother." Annie replied.

"I can understand I feel guilty because I didn't want to believe Ash even after seeing what I saw it's only natural to battle with mixed emotions the fact is that book is far too dangerous to be kept in our world and we can't let the evil force get it's hands on it or some crazy or innocent person who doesn't know what it can do." Jenny said.

As Annie and Jenny talked Kent with his two children and the Alzeez brothers went to gather more things the Alzeez sisters meanwhile sat reading their ancestors journals centuries of information including from Abdullah himself.

"You know what doesn't make sense to me is if the dark ones sees human beings as souls to steal and bodies to possess what has kept them from winning this war?"Babette asked.

"Simply mankind wouldn't make it easy for them you know just as well as I invaders eventually lose their hold on the territory they took and this is no different even the people who battled them back then had to realize what a danger the dark ones posed to all human life at the time. "Amani replied.

Annie and Jenny walk over to the sisters and sit next to them as they look at the papers and journals that covered the table.

Jenny sighs deeply as she reads a few paragraphs in front of her.

"My question is if it's so easy to possess people why didn't they just possess everyone and just takeover the world?" Jenny asked.

"I suppose it's a matter of will for example Cheryl Williams was the first to be possessed eight years ago after Henrietta Knoby  had managed to kill her husband.

"The way Ash described her behavior before she turned told us she was empathically sensitive to the evils power.

Ash said she was extremely uneasy during the drive to the cabin as if she would have rather been anywhere but there and mind you this was before Scotty played that recording or Cheryl's going out in the woods alone it took a physical attack on her for the evil to get it's grips into Cheryl and Ash said Shelly was taken outside by the evil but he didn't know what exactly happened her but I assume that she was attacked by the evil.

"So I have to believe that the person has to be in a weakend state for the evil to take control. "Babette replied.
