Day 1377
8 Months Later
"Put a bit more pressure on it," Clara spoke. "Yeah, there you go."
She stepped up from where she had been leaning against a makeshift wooden chest full of medical files. In the months since they had landed at the new safe haven and started building their settlement, she had been working her way through all the people who had made it, cataloging any illnesses, issues, and their immune status. The vast majority of people were immune to the Flare, but the few who weren't got a transfusion of Thomas' blood that she had fashioned into a makeshift vaccine.
It was enough to ensure that the Flare would never touch them again.
Clara leaned over and adjusted Lia and Adrian's grip slightly until their positioning was correct. A young boy had injured himself earlier on a sharp scythe that they were using to harvest hay in the fields. Most of it would go to feeding the animals through the winter, but the rest would be made into bread.
This was the first time that her two apprentices were able to do it mostly on their own, and she was proud of them.
They had both come so far.
Lia still wore Clara's key around her neck, and there were times when Clara caught her fingering it for comfort. The young girl's teeth had all grown in, and her hair was beginning to curl at the ends.
It had been a bit of a challenge, but she had managed to fumble through teaching Leo to braid her hair. It was how they spent a few minutes together every morning before she was back off in the infirmary-- because there were always injuries here-- and he was off running messages between the different establishments.
"Good," Clara said. "Now what do you do?"
Adrian and Lia exchanged a glance. They had become fast friends-- even if they bickered a lot, there was never any malice behind it.
"We sterilize the wound,"
"And then we bandage it,"
Clara smiled and nodded in approval.
There was a rapping on the door, and she glanced over to see that Minho had appeared. She smiled at him.
Adrian snickered behind her and she turned back around to glare at him. He pressed his lips together in a portrait of innocence.
"Go ahead and finish what you were doing," She ordered. The two of them jumped into action, both conveniently avoiding her eye.
Clara rolled her eye, but stepped out of the doorway, nudging Minho along with her to avoid the cheeky jeers of her two protegees.
"Those two are ridiculous," Minho murmured as they picked their way down the path that led to the beach. The medical center had been placed near the center of the village that was slowly beginning to erect itself.
Clara nodded her agreement. "Ridiculous, but quick learners."
Minho reached down, taking her hand. It was rough under her skin, but familiar all the same. He had been working with Vince to plan the locations of the new builds and constructing them as well.
Underneath the collar of his shirt-- lowered to let the cool air in-- she could just make out the faded burn scars. They had healed quite well Clara had to say, better than she had expected given the circumstances.
They stopped in front of the monument that had been erected. Clara reached out, running her thumb over the names she recognized, murmuring them once. The people who had gotten her here, even without making it themselves.
It was one of the first things that had been constructed upon their arrival.
Clara ran her fingers over Tris' name, swallowing a lump in her throat. She may not have been there physically, but they had made it together in the end.
Clara clutched the necklace, running her finger over the gold chain.
After a moment, Clara turned to Minho, and silently, they began their trek back up the hill to the village, away from the beach. Clara nodded once to Thomas-- who was much healthier now. He was in the process of setting up the bonfire with a few of the younger immunes.
The village was crowded, people moving around with a joyous momentum that had begun to appear, a sense of hope that had begun to rise in the community. Clara smiled at the organized chaos and the joy that was reverberating into the air.
Everywhere they had been, and everything they had done.
It was all for this.

Hello lovelies!
This is the end of Everything, Everywhere, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I was a bit of an emotional wreck at times. Some of these characters have been with me for over a decade, since my childhood best friend and I started writing fanfiction when we were way too young to be publishing things on the internet.
I hope I have given them a worthy sendoff.
As well, be sure to check out my new fic coming on Tuesday, The Golden Phoenix//Selection Fanfiction!
Until next time,
Indigo
