iii. old habits never die
EVERYTHING THAT WAS UNSAID
:: iii. | old habits never die
There Sarah was —— eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling while laying next to Alexa on the bathroom floor. Sarah felt like she was dead, like she overdosed again. She shut her eyes then opened them back up, realizing she was in a bathroom . . . again. She then started getting up and when doing so, that's when she heard someone trying to turn the knob, as Sarah just remembered it was locked. Momentarily, Alexa finally wakes up and sees Sarah leaning against the wall.
"Thought you be gone." She stands up.
"Me too." Sarah spoke as Alexa approached her, "I just —something is weird at home. I don't want to be there right now." The blonde admitted.
Alexa nodded listening. As their voices became silent, Alexa opened the door, then gave Sarah a smile before leaving.
As of Sarah, she walked to abigail's living room and plopped on the sofa. She sat there and eventually Abigail came into view.
"You're still here? Thought you left last night." She was half way dressed for school.
"Obviously." Sarah sassed. She wasn't in the mood. Things were happening all at once.
She needed it and wanted it.
"Are you ok?" Abigail came closer.
Sarah could tell that Abigail could tell that something might be wrong, but as she always does, Sarah plastered that fake smile and stood up, "All good."

Time flew and Sarah had finally left abigail's house. She was standing in an ally way close to a seven-eleven. Her head was spinning. She didn't know where she was going. Sara didn't take anything, at least she didn't remember. She blinked as fast as she could to try and get her head straight to call someone. And who she called . . . he was the person she least wanted to talk too.
Sarah waited on the curb for John. As she waited, the sun was beaming brighter than usual. What kind of drug did I take? Did I take any? Did someone dose me? She kept on asking herself over and over until she saw a black car drive up. John had rolled the window down to show it was him. He unlocked the car and Sarah got in on the passenger side.
"Here." He placed it in her lap, "Dean supplied me."
She nodded and started to open the bag.
"Want me to take you home?" John ask, with his hands on the steering wheel.
"No." Sarah shook her head, while crossing her legs. She poured a little bit of the white substance onto the header, then sniffed it through one of her nostrils. She could feel John watching as she did it, then he did it.
Their relationship is practically built on drugs, it's how they bond. Honestly, she doesn't remember how she met him or how they became friends. Even though she doesn't talk to him much, he still manages to stick around and be there when she needs him to be.
As he drove the car to where she assumed which is school, it was silent.
One of the reasons why they don't really talk that much anymore is cause of her overdose. He was angry at her for letting it get that far. Then after she got out the hospital, it wasn't even a month before she got more and relapsed. If people found out, they would be confused and scared. Why put herself through that again after what happened? Those people . . they just don't understand.

Once they have finally arrived to school, John had parked the car in his student's parking spot.
"Wanna talk about it?" He ask as she watched him turn the engine off.
"Not really." Sarah avoided eye contact.
John let out a quick breath that he had no idea he was holding in, "I'm the only one who knows what you're going through. What's been going on?"
"I don't have to tell you anything." She unlocked the door and stormed out of his car.
Sarahjean walked into the school building really high and who she spotted first, well that just put a smile on her face. She walked over to Becky as she was rummaging through her locker. Sarah leaned on the locker that was next to her's, "Looking for something?"
"Just found it." Becky closed her locker. She turned to the blonde, "So are we not strangers anymore?"
"Depends. Are you free tonight?" Sarah asked with a light smile.
"Are you trying to ask me out?" Becky questioned.
"What? No. I'm — I'm not — No." She stumbled on her words. That obviously threw Sarah off guard. She didn't even know what gave her that idea, "You know what, never mind. Bad idea." She began to walk away and each stepped felt liberating. Sarah finally felt the drug soaring through her vines.
Becky had sped in front of her as Sarah was letting the drug sink in.
"Did i say something wrong?" She questioned her new found friend as her hand touched Sarah's left arm. It would be lie if Sarah said she didn't feel butterflies in her tummy.
"No. Sorry, um —— just find my buddy Daniel and he'll give you my number and my name." Sarah started backing away. She quickly smiled before rushing off. It was the urge. It was there. It came back. As much as she would've love to keep making a fool out of herself in front of Becky, she needed more.
So she went all the way to the bathroom on the other side of the school. When she got there, she took more and by the time the bell rang for first period class, she was already slowly sinking in more deeper than she already was.
