Holy Shit

"We're leaving. Take your things." Haru looks up at me confusingly. "Come on." I don't have time to take off my uniform so I'll just go like this. I grab my bag and start shoving the kid's pajamas and other things they didn't carry in their backpacks inside. Haru gave up on trying to get me to explain why I randomly barged into the room like this, which I'm glad for. I don't have time to explain anyways. Instead he gets off the bed and packs the book he was reading to his backpack.

I didn't tell the kids what happened yesterday with Jirou. I couldn't have. They would've been heartbroken to know that there's another place where no one wants them in. It's my fault anyways. I should've called off of work more. There's no time to panic. I have to get the kids out of the dorms and hopefully to the library if Mr. Eto had recovered. If not then I'll just have to bring them to the alley with Mr. Sho and Ethan.

This is what's for the best.

No it's not.

All Might I don't have time to argue with myself.

"Did you grab everything?" I zip up my bag before swinging it over my shoulder. I wait for Haru's answer which is only a nod. I head towards the door before Haru stops me. I look back at him to see he's waving his hand. "No, we won't be able to say goodbye. That's why we're leaving now instead of with everyone else." Sometimes I wish I don't say the things that come out of my mouth because now he genuinely looks upset. "I promise I'll tell him that you said bye, okay?" He nods before sighing. I give him a smile that he does not reciprocate as usual.

This is what's for the best.

I open the door to my room. I take a quick look at the hallway to see that thankfully no one is in it. I start walking out with Haru before deciding that maybe I should lock my door. Turning back to lock the door that's usually unlocked, I give a sigh. Why does everything have to be so stressful? I am glad that the kids are in school though. Since there's only Haru, it'll be less noticeable to see us leaving. I mean I'm still leaving with a kid, but at least it's not kids. I decide on taking the stairs since an elevator might be to noisy and cause attention. I don't know who's in the common area and I'm only on the third floor anyways. It's not as if I'm going to be tired afterwards just in case I need to run.

Once we make it to the common area I rush towards the kitchen. I can't hear any noise coming from the couches so maybe there's no one here. I quickly swipe an apple before opening my bag to put it inside. I'm glad there's only clothes in here because that apple would've been a goner by now. I take Haru's hand and start walking to the door. Honestly I'm basically dragging him, but after we past the couches we can't stop. Jirou and Hagakure are sitting there. I don't want Haru to hear the things she said. Even if he can't exactly hear everything clearly, he can recognize the tone, plus he's able to read lips. It's moments like these that make me wish he was like Koji and just couldn't see that far away. Haru has been getting too comfortable of this place for it all to just go down the drain. I can't let him think negatively of this place too. I already know he thinks Mr. Eto is getting tired of him. It's only a matter of time before he won't have a safe space. I'm already ruining this place. Good going Denki.

"Hey Haru! Kaminari!" Haru stops to look at Hagakure. I stop with him but don't turn around. He doesn't say or do anything so she takes that as a way of saying hi. "Where are you guys going? Sumie and them haven't come back yet... did you not go to school today?" Right. They don't know that Haru doesn't actually go to school. I never planned on telling them, but it would've came handy in situations like these. I turn to Haru to see he's still looking at them so I glance at them too. Hagakure is just sitting on the couch like normal, but Jirou has her eyes wide. It takes her a moment but she starts whispering something that only they can hear. And yeah that's my cue to leave.

"Come on Haru, let's go." I tug his arm a bit before he puts his focus back on me instead of the girls.

"I push the door open before hurrying out with Haru. Luckily I didn't get the chance to hear what they said, if they even said something. I quickly take my phone out of my pocket to check the hour. We don't have much time before the bus passes. We have to move fast.

Once we left the school grounds we walked straight to the bus stop. I could see Ms. Hina's bus right by the stop as if it was waiting just for us. I speed up my walking just a bit. I don't want to miss it.

"Ms. Hina!" I board the bus to notice that once again no one is on it and I have no idea why this time. Her buses are usually packed.

"Denki and is that little Haru? I haven't seen you both in such a long time. How are you and everyone else?" She sighs before looking at the both of us.

"That's my fault. I've been walking to work and back now. You know I gotta get those steps in. The kids still take the school bus and luckily haven't missed it yet, but everyone is doing fine."

"Of course. You're always doing something to better yourself huh? And how about you Haru? Have you read any good books lately?"

He nodes his head in response to which Ms. Hina smiles.

"You and your books, you're always reading one. That means you're going to smart when you grow up. Probably smarter than Denki here."

"Hey! I'm pretty smart!"

"Of course you are. Don't doubt that." She smiles. "Well you already know how much this costs. I don't have to keep reminding you since you aren't a child anymore."

"Of course I know." I open my bag to show her my bus pass, a bus ticket for Haru, and an apple. She raises her eyebrows at the fruit.

"Apples are good for you. You know an apple a day keeps the doctor away. I don't need you getting sick on me too." I take my seat with Haru before letting her respond though I can hear her snickering from the front. Other than that, the bus ride is silent. Haru is just staring off into nothing while I'm trying my damn hardest not to fall asleep. Though I can't since our stop comes up.

"Stopping early huh? You gonna walk the rest of the way?"

"Yes we will!"

"Take care of yourselves, especially you Denki."

"I will. Thank you!"

After getting off the bus, Haru and I continue walking in the direction of the school's bus stop. It was silent stroll until Haru broke it.

"Th-t-the-they" cough "d-do-don't l-like u-us?" cough

I stare him down for a minute before signing my response, "They didn't like me going to work. It's not you guys! They love you. They just think I'm lying." I chuckle at the last part. Lying. My only friends think I'm lying.

"W-w-wh-why wou-" cough cough "-ould y-y-you l-lie?"

"I don't know Haru. But don't worry about it. Everything will be okay. We'll just go and check if Mr. Eto has come back." He obviously isn't happy with my response, but he accepted it anyway. I know he'd probably want to question me more, but he's probably exhausting from talking already. I don't want him to overexert himself. Though I can't say that I'm not proud. I love hearing Haru's voice even if it's rare. It's like how I love seeing Kai laugh. I don't get it often, but I wont complain. Getting Kai to laugh is hard, but it's definitely easier than getting Haru to talk. I know he mostly does it with me, but there are some moments where he talks to the kids. I remind them every time to not make a big deal of it, but Koji can't help but tell the world whenever Haru talks and Sumie just wont stop hugging him. It's cute, I can't lie. But Haru gets embarrassed when I do it to him, so whenever he talks I just act like he's been doing that the whole time.

Before we knew it we were at the bus stop. After the kids got off the bus they just stared at us. I can't blame them. I don't pick them up from the bus and Haru usually stays at the library or the dorms, so it's different.

"Come on. Let's go to the library before I have to leave for work." I make them walk in front of me and I see Haru telling them what happened. He signs to Koji that they aren't going back to the dorms. They all see it and I can see them frown, but soon it changes to a face of understanding and I hate that.

We cross the street to the library. It doesn't look open, but it's still Mr. Eto's house so maybe he's here.

"Excuse me, are you here Mr. Eto?!" I knock on the door. There's no response. I would usually blame it on Mr. Eto being old, but then again he's sick and probably isn't even here. I guess I'll have to take them to the alley. Before I can even turn around the door opens.

"Oh sorry I took so long and wow those are a lot of kids.... Are you Kaminari Denki by chance?" The random lady asks. She looks... energetic. She reminds me of people I'd see in American tv shows during doctor visits. Her hair is red like Kirishima though hers is probably natural. It's placed in two short pigtails and she used a yellow bandanna to cover the top of her head. She also has those round glasses connected by a glasses chain. She looks fun.

"Yes ma'am."

"Oh All Might please don't call me ma'am, it'll make me feel old! I'm only in my twenties. Oh All Might I'm in my twenties. What am I doing with my life?" She presses her palm to her cheek.

"Oh um, is Mr. Eto here?"

"Nope! He isn't back yet. Actually he might never be back. Though I'm here in the meantime. Hello, my name is Aiko, I'm his grandniece!" She gives us a small wave to which I reply with a smile.

"Sorry for your trouble then, I assumed he was back. We'll get going then" I start to turn around, but she stops me.

"Wait no don't go! My gramps told me about you. I was actually waiting for you to stop by sooner, but you never came. I would've went looking for you myself, but I didn't know where to start."

"He talked about me?"

"Yes! And those adorable kids too!" She goes back inside the library before stopping and looking at us. "Well don't just stand there! Come inside, I'll explain everything."

I always liked the library, it had those rustic look to it, but I suppose it always made it intimidating to go inside of. When I first went here I thought it was for adults only, but there's a whole kid section and comic books. Though now there's more pastel colors. It's more welcoming I suppose. We continue walking before Aiko sits us down at the first table.

"Here's the gist of it. I am the new owner of this library." Yup, I am screwed now.

"If you don't mind me asking, since when?"

"For two weeks just about. My gramps is getting old. He loves the library, but he can't take care of himself without help anymore and that means he's unable to take care of the kids as well." So this is my fault? I kept making him watch the kids. I'm the one to blame. "He told me how he would watch the kids while you went to work. He kept saying how you pushed yourself too hard, that you need help with everything you've been given responsibility over. I-uh he also mentioned how you used to come to the library with bruises when you were younger. Trust me, I'm not an idiot. I know what's happening with your so called father, but I also swore not to tell a soul."

"I-I I'm sorry I dragged you into this."

"I'm more upset that I wasn't dragged in sooner! Listen Denki, I'm young so I can watch the kids while you go to work and have fun. You're a teenager, you deserve to have fun with your friends and have no stress except you know for the constant worry of being attacked by villains, but still."

"But what about you?"

"What about me? I have no life Denki. This library is all I will care about now! Plus I'll be even better than that old fart."

"You shouldn't worry too much. I'm finding people to adopt the kids soon." The kids' heads turn towards me. I know it isn't a conversation I've had with them frequently, but we have to talk about it soon. They can't stay in that house forever.

"That's wonderful news! And what about you? Who will be the lucky parent to have such a wonderful kid?" She folds her hands while she waits for my response. She sort of reminds me of Present Mic.

"I-i." I hadn't thought about who would adopt me. I just figured I would stay with Mr. Akagi. He owns me, it's not like I can just get away from him that easily.

"I'll be staying with my father."

"That's not good. If we're both being honest here, I wont accept that answer and I know you don't like it either. I know my gramps let you go back to him, but I don't like it at all."

"I'll be fine! You honestly have nothing to worry about." The conversation is going bad. Fix it.

"Well this has been fun, but I have to go to work!" I take my phone and not even checking the time I wave it as if I'm late. I'm honestly really early. I stand up and push in my chair. I drop my bag by the Haru's feet before giving each of the kids a kiss on their foreheads.

"Wait! Did you eat yet?"

"Yes! I ate plently. Thank you!" Lie even more huh. Shut up.

"I know a lie when I see one." She walks to join me at the door. She's more blunt and straightforward than Mr. Eto. He always made me tell him whats wrong while Aiko will straight up tell me what's wrong. I haven't figured out if I like it or not.

"Thank you for agreeing to watch over the kids, if you have any questions you can just call me." I start to take out my phone, but she interrupts me.

"Oh I don't think I'll need to. There's still that book you left for my gramps that's labeled 'Kaminari Siblings 101'."

"Oh so you've seen it." I chuckle in embarrassment. It's not my fault Mr. Eto couldn't remember anything I told him.

"I've read it front to back. You sir don't leave any details out." She winks at me.

"Thank you?"

"You're welcome. Be careful out there, and make sure to get some rest. You're still a teenage boy that just so happens to be in a hero school. All Might you kids grow fast." I laugh before thanking her. I know the kids will be okay in her hands.

"I will, thank you."

"And also, Denki?"

"Yes?"

"If you want, I wouldn't mind adopting you. I would be ecstatic to have you as my son even though I seem more of a big sister... that's fine. I'll be like some cool aunt or something. Though a mother is fine too. It's not like I was going to get married anytime soon anyways. I just moved into this town and you're crying. Did I do something wrong?"

"Y-you would a-ad-adopt me?"

"I'm serious. You say the word and I'll get you out of the hell hole." Her face is dead serious and that's when it hits me.

"I-i I have to go now. Bye."

"Bye Denki." She gives me a soft smile before entering the library.

S-somebody wants me
