I woke up the next morning it was the usual mornings Steve,Two-Bit,Soda,and Darry are all around the house talking loud and talking about me or who did it and ran and stuff I just laid in bed looking at the ceiling its Friday I have to go to school Darry's been letting me off of school these past few days because of Johnny and Dally and I'm sure he'll let me stay home today to but I feel like I wanna go so I guess I will its not the same without Johnny sitting on the couch watching tv with Two-Bit I thought to myself while I went in the living room "Darry" I said softly "yeah?" he asked "Darry how'd you get him to talk?" Two-Bit asked I smiled a little cause I guess i'm the center of attention at the moment until something else happens "I wanna go to school today" I said Darry sighed and said "I don't know pony, you seem still pretty out of it I don't think your ready remember what happened Monday when you said this" Darry said I looked down what happened Monday was alot of stuff I thought I was ready for school but then when I went I was so out of it and wasn't used to so many people due to me staying home a lot and so many people named Johnny it was a disaster so I had to go to the nurses office and fake sick so I could call Darry to pick me up. "Yeah but I'll be okay" I said then that memory of me walking into the nurses office acting all sick replayed in my head and I all of sudden didn't wanna go because I knew it would happen again Darry snapped me out of my thoughts by saying "alright if you think your-" I cut him off by saying "uh nevermind but could you turn this in for me" I said handing him my essay "sure but your coming with me" Darry said I nodded I guess he wanted me out of the house even if it was for only like ten minuets I got ready and went into his truck there was nothing but the radio playing blue moon by Elvis the song reminded me of Johnny and how innocent and caring he was he might not have showed how caring he was but he would care about things. We stopped at my school I looked at Darry nervously "go ahead I'll be right here waiting for you to come back" I nodded and got my essay and walked up the stairs I turned around a couple times to make sure Darry was still there like he said he'd be I finally walked through the doors of the entrance and before I did I looked for Darry's truck which was still sitting there then a soc bumped into me "watch it greaser" he said I started shaking a little because it was Randy Bob's friend hopefully he didn't notice me I went inside and saw hundreds of people shoving and walking fast and smoking I hurried to Mr. Simm's room and when I got there he was teaching a class "hey ponyboy" he said I walked over to him slowly everyone was watching me he sat at his desk and I handed him my essay I saw Cherry Valance but I didn't care to wave I knew she wouldn't wave back she could barely look at me not even a smile but I don't care maybe a do just a little "will I see you in class today?" my teacher asked I shook my head no "oh well that's a shame" I nodded and said "well I gotta go my brother's waiting for me" "oh alright" he said I turned around and started walking to the door when someone said "isn't your brother Sodapop?" I turned to see who it was and it was Marcia Cherry's friend "yeah" I said "oh-" she started but got cut off by someone saying "soda's the cute one" I smiled a little and walked out. I didn't know so many people knew Soda soon he'll probably be signing autographs I walked out of the front of the school I didn't see Darry's truck I started to panic how could he leave me here I have no reason to be here I already turned everything in I then walked down the steps passing people quickly there was people smoking and making out but there's highschool for ya. I finally made it down the steps and I saw Darry parked in a parking spot I sighed in relief I got in and we drove home "what took so long?" he asked "some girls were asking about Soda in the class that I interrupted to turn in my work" I said Darry smiled and laughed "he's still known in that school I guess" he said I nodded and Darry said "hey I'm gonna drop you off with Soda at the DX so you can get outta the house a while" he said before pulling up to a gas pump I looked at him confused I thought he was just dropping me off "I need gas to" he said I smiled a little and he gave me money to give to Soda to fill the truck up Soda of course didn't accept it and told me to keep it as he was filling up I stood on the cement that was behind the pump just as I did before me Johnny and Dally went to the nightly double I remember it like it as just yesterday.
~Flashback~
Me,Johnny,and Dally were on our way to the DX from the corner of Sutton and we walked up to the DX and as we were walking Steve said "look Soda here comes the hobos" I stood on the cement that's behind the gas pump while Dally was messing with Steve with a windshield wiper and Johnny just stayed quiet so did I Soda gave me a dollar and was was laughing "give em the money" Soda said then we went walking again to the field to get to the nightly double.
~Flashback over~
I wanna live in that moment with Johnny and Dally alive and okay "hey pony you okay?" Soda asked I just looked at the ground I was so much into my thoughts I didn't even know Darry left "pony" Soda said then I looked up and looked at him Soda gave me a sympathetic look then I walked inside the shop and got a pepsi I was couting out the money that was supposed to be for Soda for gas but Darry doesn't know I decided to give some of it to Soda Two-Bit and even Steve even though Steve doesn't realy like me I still will give him some. I saw Two-Bit walking up to the DX he entered the shop Darry gave me $15 so that would spilt even I walked up to Two-Bit and gave him $5 "what's this for?" he asked i shrugged and walked out of the shop and into the garage "hey pony check this car out" Soda said Soda always tried to get me into cars but i'm just not into them as much as he is I gave him $5 and Steve $5 then sat on the stool that was next to the car and drank my pepsi "thanks kid" Steve said "I don't want your money" Soda said giving it back to me "I don't need it" I said giving it back to him then going inside before he rejects it again "hey pony I was thinking maybe a certain place can fix up your feelings for Johnny" Two-Bit said I had no idea what he was thinking nothing can fix my feelings for Johnny I'm hurt and sad nothing will fix that I just looked at him "Windrexville" he said.
