Elena woke up by sounds of bird chirping, she slept on the couch of the Chateau, she blinked a few times and stretched her arms, she remembered last night as if it was a headache, she groaned and stood up, slowly and carefully she walked over to John B's room, who continued to sleep, she checked to see if he was still breathing and he was, the relief that he was okay made Elena smile, she still needed to check on his bruise but that could be after when he woke up.

Breakfast, maybe she could help around by making breakfast, walking outside towards the roosters and hens, grabbing three eggs with caution so that she wouldn't be pecked by the animals, she heard the sound of a car door closing, Elena cursed under her breath, she had forgotten that she had to leave early and be home so she could accompany her father and sister to hospital and visit her mother. Elena didn't want to but she promised, she didn't know what time was it now but she sure knew it was past eight in the morning. She hid behind the back door and peaked through, seeing it wasn't her father but Sheriff Peterkin and John B, woke and looking around, Elena placed her back to the wall and listened.

She couldn't really understand what they were saying but she could catch that DCS were worried, she heard about the party and also that Peterkin was curious about the marsh and if they found something, the wreck specially. Elena tensed up and tried her best to focus more on listening to the conversation, she wasn't like this, to eavesdrop, but she was involved in all of this mess, so she had to know. Peterkin seemed like she wanted to help John B, but was she going to collaborate on it? Well, she didn't really know.

Elena opened the back door the moment she heard the other one, she saw Peterkin walk away and John B throwing a can to the other side.

"You okay?" She asked, John B looked up to her with furrowed brows

"How long where you here?" He questioned moving his hair back with his fingers

"I stayed the night to check on you, you okay?" She repeated herself and walked over to him "I grabbed some eggs to make breakfast, if that's okay?"

"I'm okay, yeah totally okay." He nodded his head but looked away from her for a moment to return his gaze "Yeah that's okay, but you shouldn't do it El, you did enough by staying."

"Is there anything I can do to help you out? I kinda listened to Peterkin and what she said about Foster Care, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that." Elena apologized looking down at the floor and biting the inside of her lower lip.

"No don't worry about that, you heard Sheriff, we just gotta stay away from the marsh, that's all." John B stood up from the couch and walked over to Elena pulling her to a hug and kissing her head "Don't worry about me El, I'll be okay."

"Well, well, I guess the pogue on pogue rule just ended." There was another voice heard from their side, both of them turning to see JJ, Kiara and Pope making their way inside the home.

"Hey JJ." John B greeted the blonde who made the comment with a handshake, he turned to hug Kie and greet Pope at last. "We all need to talk about something serious."

"I'll be in the kitchen." Elena said walking away, she grabbed the eggs she placed on the table when she entered the home and looked for a skillet in the pantries or inside the stove.

"El, you're part of this conversation so please come." John B said catching the attention of the brunette, she left everything in the counter and headed outside where the rest scattered on the backyard.

"Look, I'm calling it off." John B stated when the pogues were finally calmed down and sat down, the three of the new visitors looked at them surprised "Peterkin said, if I stay out of the marsh, she'll help me with DCS."

"And you believe her?" JJ asked getting as a response by John B a yes "An actual cop, John B, you believed a cop." He threw away a rock he had in his hands and looked down.

"All I gotta do is stay out of the marsh for a couple of days, and she'll help me out." John B exclaimed "It doesn't help that your ass was the one shooting a gun." Elena remembered clearly the gun JJ had last night and that she still hadn't said a word to him yet.

"You know what I should've done?" JJ said looking up to him "Just let Topper drown your ass."

"Yeah like Topper was gonna drown me?"

"Sure looked like it." JJ and John B argued making it uncomfortable with Kie, Pope and Elena, their words kept on coming out of each other's mouth and JJ made his steps closer to John B.

"They always win don't they?" JJ asked his eyes set for a moment on Elena who sat beside Kie "Kooks versus Pogues. They always, always win." he shouted out punching a ball making Kiara exclaim that's it's okay. "No, it's not okay," JJ turned around from walking away "It is not, they don't want us to go down in the marsh, that means there's something valuable down there, and you know it." Pointing our to John B when he said those last words.

"That's now an issue for the police, I mean, they found Scooter's body, maybe they don't want us to find another body there or something." Elena said her opinion looking at JJ briefly to then look at Pope and Kie.

"I don't think that's the reason princess, there's something valuable down there and well I know you know it," JJ continued talking his eyes on John B and then on Pope "I understand why you don't wanna go, You're the golden boy, you got way too much to risk." Pope didn't say anything to his friend comment, but he agreed "And you," he turned to look at Kie "I mean, you're already rich as fuck anyway, why would you bother?" Looking now down to Elena JJ hesitated on saying his words "You princess, you got your family who needs you, you can't risk that." His eyes went back to John B "But you and me man, we got nothing to lose, we really don't, all right?" John B looked away and seemed defeated "And I know it didn't used to be that way for you." JJ continued on talking, but somehow Elena zoned out for the rest of their conversation.

What JJ just said was true, she had her family, her little sister, her father even her mother even though she was dying, she still had them. She felt guilt in her heart knowing she hadn't seen her mother after she found out she had cancer, Elena wasn't able to come in terms with herself to see her. Elena didn't know how long she had zoned out until Pope touched her shoulder.

"We're going back this afternoon, we'll meet here, want to ride with us?" He asked and looked behind him to see Kiara with the car keys on her hand.

"Did JJ leave already?" She asked, Pope shook his head and pointed at JJ who was walking towards his motorbike "I'll see you guys tonight." Elena smiled and jogged over to JJ "Hey, can you give me a ride home?" She asked, her hands inside the pockets of her jean shorts.

"Now you're talking to me?" He said sarcastically and looking around him, Elena punched his arm and chuckled.

"Yes you ass," She smiled "so? Ride home?" JJ nodded his head and handed over the helmet, he started his engine the moment Elena sat down behind him and surrounded her arms around his waist.

Elena didn't want to walk inside her home, JJ made their way to their homes and they both stared at their respective houses, terrified to walk in. Elena looked over at JJ and thanked him, she told him to see him later and walked away. She wasn't ready, but she had to, opening the front door to her house, she heard the footsteps of her father. He stood there in the dining room, crossed arms and no face expression.

"Donde chingados estabas?" Her father shouted out at her, his face had now changed, with eyebrows lowered down with a line between them, his jaw was clenched so tightly Elena feared he would injure himself.

"Sorry dad, I was at John B's, he got into a fight and I took care of him, I lost track of time and forgot to come back." Elena explained or at least tried to explain herself.

"I don't care, you promised me that you would be here and we would go and visit your mom, I stayed here with your sister for over and hour for you and you didn't make it." Elena knew she did wrong but she didn't want to hear her father, when there was a long pause of silence Elena just walked away towards her room and exhaled the breathe she had hold when her father talked.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled the words but little did she know that Ernesto Herrera stood behind her.

"Why didn't you go Elena? It's been months and you haven't visited your mother at the hospital, why?"

Elena clenched her jaw and felt the knot on her throat, the sting in her eyes, and she knew that her nose had turned into a shade of red, all of this happening just to try and hold back tears.

"so just do t want to see her dad, I just don't." Elena said turning around to fave her father, terrible mistake, cause the moment she did, she broke down "I don't want to see her in that state, weak, sick and dying." Her voice trembled with shaky breathes, the knot in her throat had disappeared as the tears came out of her eyes.

Ernesto hugged her daughter without saying a word but letting his child cry, to let out everything he knew, she was holding back. Ernesto kisses her head and tried to calm her down.

"I understand that Rose, I do." Elena hadn't heard her father call her by her second name, Rosalinda, Rose for short, but when her father did use it, she felt calm, Elena smiled and looked up to him, sniffed and clean her red face. "But you must visit her Elena Rosalinda Herrera, cause if you don't, you might regret it at some point in your life." He was right, Elena knew he was right, but she had to be strong the day she goes to the hospital and visit.

Ernest pulled her daughter away, his hands on her shoulders and smiled, pressing a kiss on her forehead and leaving her room, maybe to let her daughter think for her decisions and start planning on the day Elena would go and see her mother.

The honking of JJ's motorbike was heard from the outside of her bedroom window, the teenager looked outside and motioned him to wait a minute, Elena headed over to her closet and grabbed her bag, tossing inside a change of clothes, grabbing a bathing suit she ran towards the bathroom and changed, throwing to the laundry her clothes from last night, with her mouth washed and her hair up in a ponytail, Elena left her house, screaming she would be back this night.

JJ and Elena arrived to the HMS Pogue to meet with the rest of the group, Elena was surprised to see Pope and Kiara in their adventure but just like her, they wanted to support John B and JJ even if it could be dangerous for them. John B sailed away towards the marsh, exactly back to the wreck, back to trouble.  Reaching the area where the wreck was and this time without crashing and messing up the engine, John B gave the oxygen tanks to Kiara, who seemed to know how to work them.

"This is empty, you took empty tanks." Kiara looked at John B and sighed deeply, Elena just looked at them and leaned back on the boat, she had took off her shirt keeping her shorts and bathing suit, taking the sunlight in her skin.  "Okay, this one's quarter full, it's enough for one of us." Well now that complicated the plan for the pogues.

"Love it when a plan comes together." Pope said and even though it wasn't really a complaint, it sounded like it.

"Does anybody knows how to dive?" Kie asked looking at the rest of her friends.

"I barely know how to swim, so," Elena said and shrugged, hoping someone would speak up.

"It's kind of a Kook sport" JJ said answering Kie's question if anybody knew.

"I've read about it." Pope said putting his index finger out just like a kid wanting to participate in class.

"Great, Pope read about it, so someone's gonna die."  Kie rolled her eyes and just sighed deeply.

"Look, you, you put the thing in your mouth and breathe," JJ commented looking at Kie "How hard could it be?"

"If you come up too fast, nitrogen gets into your blood, and you get the bends." Pope informed the group, possibly from the information he read about it.

"Bends like, bend over." JJ jokingly said laying forward making Elena chuckle by his actions

"The bends kill you." JJ stopped his laugh and just said a deep oh, standing back up and clearing his throat.

"I can, I can dive." John B said, if no one else would've participated. Both Kiara and Elena turned to look at him confused.

"You can dive. I'm cool with that." JJ said, Elena slapped his arm and shook her head.

"Since when can you dive?" Kiara asked John B but he ignored her question just by stating out that he would do it.

Pope stood up from his seating area and started making calculations of how much John B should be down there, the oxygen he would need, etc. Kiara stood up and listened to Pope talk and just when Pope said that ten feet is John B's safe spot, Kiara took off her shirt and dived into the water, all of the other pogues turned to look at what the brunette just did.

"What was that all about?" Pope asked looking down at John B who had a widened mouth and eyes.

"I don't know, but I liked it." JJ nodded his head "A lot." Elena suddenly felt shy and insecure about it, she hugged tightly herself trying to cover her own body. She ignored the boys just trying to come back to reality and act normal.

"Hey, I tied my t-shirt to the anchor chain about ten feet down, it's when you need to do your safety spot." Kiara shouted out when she reached outside the water and swam back to the boat.

"Keep an eye on this." Pope motioned the timer where he placed it with the oxygen tank and explained to him that if the time ends his oxygen will do as well.

"And how much do I need?" John B asked looking down at the timer and back up to Pope, being worried about it.

"Unclear, breathe as little as possible." Pope said pressing his lips together and walking away.

"Zen, Think Zen." JJ said stepping forward and breathing in and out as if he were making it clear for him.

"Hey, uh, if we get caught in the marsh, we're basically screwed, so, better get a move on." Pope said behind the wheel.

Elena stood up and walked over to John B kissing his cheek "Be careful okay?," she smiled and titled her head to the side "and I mean it John B, I can't loose you." She said and walked over to the group again.

"Diver down?" He asked looking at Elena but it was Kiara who answered.

"Diver down." John B jumped down the boat into the water and disappeared.

Elena sat back down on her spot and wiggled her toes, Kiara took the spot next to her and looked at her.

"What was that about?" She asked clearly asking about the kiss, Elena shrugged and mumbled an I don't know.

Minutes passed when Pope called the group, the sound of sirens were heard in the background, all of them tensed up and panicked.

"Guys that's the police." JJ announced and headed over to the other side of the boat.

"You gotta be kidding me."

"Just act frickin' normal." Kiara said and shifted in her spot, straightened up, Elena did the same beside her, sitting up straight and clearing her throat.

The police boat stopped when they came closer to theirs, officers looking at them and around the boat.

"Evening officers." Pope greeted them and made his way closer to them to help them with their boat.

"Evening." The officer said back handing Pope the rope for him to tie it down but Pope handed it over to JJ "How you kids doing? You know the marsh is closed?" The officer said looking at the group of teens who shook their heads and denied.

"Why, why is it closed?" Pope asked trying his best to be natural.

"Well, we're conducting a search out here. A boat went down." The officer said truthfully, but little did they know that John B was exactly down there. "Seen anything?" the officer asked looking at the teens, again they denied.

Elena looked around but her eyes were down on the water, she turned back to look at her friends and held Kie's hand.

"Where's your friend you always hang with? He here?" He asked looking around in search for John B

"He's working" Kie responded calmly and with a smile, but it seemed it didn't really convince the officer.

"I'm gonna check your little boat out." The officer said and hopped inside without even asking and just started looking around. JJ moved and told him to check her out, Pope doing the same he moved for the officers to look at the boat and do their investigation. "You got another one of this?" He asked lifting up a safety jacket.

"Yeah, yeah, of course, it's uh, it's in the hold" Pope and JJ assured him but if the officer was unsure Kie stood up and told JJ to show it, Elena moved aside and stood with Pope uncomfortable and without looking at the officers.

"Yeah, here we go." JJ showed the life saving vest and the officer just nodded his head.

Elena grew impatient with the presence of the officers and the fact that John B was running out of oxygen and time, adding to that was John B hadn't made his presence, she was glad he didn't but she was nervous too. The male officer started peaking around and getting closer to the edge, where John B's safety rope, Elena stood straighter that she feared that a muscle would end up getting torn from the strength she was setting on her, she cracked her knuckled and looked over to Pope, she widened her eyes and looked at the water and back at him.

"All right" The male officer said and the group responded the same way back at him, relief came into their bodies knowing he hadn't seen the rope or anything suspicious, but there was worry in them just by the thought of John B "Beautiful Day innit?, you let us know if you see anything on your way out." He said untangling the rope from the HMS Pogue and sailing away. The four teens hovered over to the edge of the boat where the rope was, all of them looking out if there was a sign of John B, panic and worry filled their bodies.

"He's definitely out of air." Pope stated out and immediately John B came out of the water, Elena took a deep breathe and exhaled, she moved her hands towards her face and sighed.

"There he is"

"Oh, God! Jesus Christ, don't scare us like that!"

"How'd it go down there?" John B didn't give an actual answer but he made his way towards the boat "Did you find anything?" JJ kept on asking his friend, interested on the small "adventure" of John B.

"Did I find anything?" John B repeated, heavy breathes between words and throwing inside a bag, excitement filled their friends and JJ he celebrated his friend and grabbed the bag.

"You okay?" Kiara asked and looked over at John B who said he ran out of air, just like they imagined it might've happened. "You scared the shit out of me."

"Yeah, the cops were up here, but, uh, took care of 'em." Pope said with ease, as it was something he did every day.

"Yeah, you kinda missed the show, brother." JJ responded with a shrug.

"Hey guys? Guys, bogey, two o'clock." Kiara said, the group looking back to see a boat with two men.

"Shit, what are they doing here?" Elena questioned squinting her eyes trying to take a better look.

"Do you recognize that boat?" Pope threw the question in general but no one seemed to recognize it.

"I don't know but let's not stick around to find out." JJ said and headed over to the edge of the boat

"JJ get the bowline." John B ordered and head towards the wheel, ready to sail away.

"Should we wait on 'em?" Pope asked looking at John B, maybe they were good people but who really knew.

"No, we're not. gonna wait on them, go get the stern. Go!" John B responded and moved Elena by her waist aside "El, stay behind me." He said looking over to her and back to the boat seeing how it started to get closer and closer to them.

"Guys, don't wait for me, go." JJ pulled the bowline back to the boat and looked at his friends waiting for them to move.

John B started the engine and sailed away, JJ pulling the rope, Kie standing beside Elena and Pope finishing on picking the stern up.

"Can we please go John B, let's go." Elena placed her fingers through her hair and with the other she gently pushed John B. The Pogues kept on talking about the boat but did nothing. "For God's sake John B, go!"

John B sailed towards the marsh, where the officers and Sheriff Peterkin told them to stay away, the panic they had just removed from their systems came back even if John B told them to act natural, but somehow how could they when there was an unknown boat following them.

"Hey guys, they're following us." Kiara said with her eyes on their boat, she pulled Elena by her side "don't move El, don't move." she ordered her friend and with a nod Elena looked behind her and back to Kie's eyes.

"Dude, you gotta go faster." JJ said with a hint of desperation in his voice.

"Guys, they have something with them." Elena said looking at their boat, she could see something but she couldn't figure out exactly what, she turned to look at John B and JJ in hopes for the boat to go faster.

The sound that terrified Elena the most was heard just close to them, over their head, all of them cursed out and lowered their heads, a gun, probably a rifle to cause a bigger impact, Elena laid on the floor and tried to control her tears, she didn't want to hear it but another shot was thrown at them and then another one.

"Someone please do something." Elena shouted out, Kie hearing her, her eyes looked around and it seemed like she had realized something.

"Shit! Pope, move." Standing up Kiara grabbed stuff that Elena couldn't really see but she was scared for her, she was standing up and she could've been shot.

"Kie, get down right now." Elena said screaming out to her friend, another shot was heard, and another, and another, Kiara threw a net down to the water, there was a moment where the engine of the other boat wasn't heard anymore and the group stood up carefully in case of something.

The pogues excited about being alive started laughing or chuckling, except for Elena, she still was terrified about the incident, how even though Kie saved their lives she exposed herself to getting hurt. JJ walked over to Elena who was sitting down against the boat, he stretched her hand out but she flipped it away.

"You okay princess?" He asked her and the attention of her friends were on her, she shook her head and looked away. "Are you hurt?" kneeling down, JJ looked at her but didn't find trace of blood or injury, and he was glad, but something was off on Elena and he didn't seem to understand what it was.

"El? What's going on?" Pope asked coming closer to her and kneeling down as well placing her hand on her shoulder.

"Can we just go to deck or something, please, I don't want to talk about this." Elena sighed and closed her eyes, she could feel the gaze of everybody on her, but she didn't mind, all she wanted was to reach safety away from the marsh and find out what was inside the bag.

"Oh, god." Kiara said the moment they reach to the port of the Chateau's, all of them off the boat and towards the wooden floor where John B set the bag on and his friends made a circle looking at him impatiently.

"What do you guys think it is?" Kiara asked wiggling her eyebrows and a wide grin.

"Gotta be money right?" John B suggested, oh if it was money that would be exciting.

"That or a couple of keys with street value to the low to mid-mils"

"Can we please just open the bag?" Pope exclaimed, all eyes on him now, the sudden eruption of emotion coming from him surprised them all.

"Wow, Pope, that's a rare outburst of emotion:" John B commented and started digging inside the bag.

"Okay, you guys are literally killing me with anticipation, so just open the bag. We almost died over this"

"Wow, look at Pope coming out of his shell." Elena chuckled and shook her head looking at John B as well, she wasn't going to lie, the excitement was killing her too.

Inside the bag there was a smaller one, John B opened it in a hurry, pulling out some sort of metallic bottle, opening the lid and getting closer to finding out what it was, the crew looked at each other and back down to John B's hands, there it stood a compass. A compass.

"That's it?" Elena questioned confused about the object "Is there something else like a letter?"

"Oh, wow. Yp, that's about right. Good job everyone, we found a compass" Disappointment overthrew the excitement they once had when their eyes saw the compass.

JJ took off his cap and looked at his friend "Dude, what? It's not worth anything." But John B's face expression somehow reflected hope.

"This was my father's." He chuckled softly and kept on looking at the compass, the rest of his friends looked at each other, wondering if it was really the compass of John B's father, Big John.
