CHAPTER VI

BROOKE'S P.O.V

Friday came and when we entered the school premises it felt like something really changed. Allie looked little comfortable which was the very first time in all these days. We both went to our lockers to take our books. Suddenly there was commotion in hallways as every girl tried to look in their mirrors to make sure they looked good. Knowing who entered, I rolled my eyes as Allie tried to hide her giggle. She always found it funny when girls were ogling over some boys who didn't have slightest idea that the girls even existed. We continued our thing. Allie was checking her bag for third time since this morning and I was sure she would do the same once we entered the class to make sure she hasn't forgotten any book or her homework.

"Hey Al, Hey Brooke!" Caleb piped in and slung his arms around Allie's shoulder.

"Hey Caleb." Allie smiled which made me smile too. Caleb was the first guy she was so comfortable with.

"Hey." I smiled and he pulled me in a hug.

"Dude, you are a pig." I laughed and shoved him away.

"Aww, you wound me, Davis. You are officially my least favorite person." He dramatically brought his hand to his heart and faked sadness. Allie chuckled at his cheesiness.

"Hey Brooke..." I heard Nathan's voice and I whirled around to find him smirking at me. "Hey Allison." He said smiling, really smiling and went ahead.

"Hey guys." Now it was Asher who didn't leave instantly. I narrowed my eyes at him and he kissed my cheek, "Good morning, babe." He said and went behind Nathan. Saying I was shocked would be an understatement. Half of the population in hallway had their mouths open which included mine too. Allie's eyes were wide but there was small hint of smile on her lips.

"Whoa!" before Caleb could say anything, I put my hand in front of him indicating to stop.

"Don't complete that sentence. I'm going to strangle him." I declared and that was the time, Allie and Caleb lost it and burst into laugh.

"You guys, Ughhhh...." I stomped my feet like an immature five year old and went towards class. Janet was already there as she greeted me with a small smile.
"Good morning." I murmured and sat in my normal seat. Soon Allie followed and sat beside me.
"I hate you." I mumbled under my breath but she heard it anyway.

"I won't tell anyone and I'm sorry that I laughed but Asher had funny expressions when he kissed you." She said and I decide to ignore it. It was our second week and we both were kissed by the most popular guys in school. I turned my attention to others and heard some girls whispering,
'What do they have that we don't?'

'Exactly, they are not even pretty.'

'I mean I know Nate is just playing with her but what happened to Asher?'

'Those girls are ugly. Have you seen their clothes and they don't even own a car?'

'Yeah! They walk to school, that's so tacky.'

'I already hated her when she played prank on my boys.'

'I think, Ash is also playing you know to teach her lesson.'

'Yes, that's possible because Ash won't go for some bitch.'

That made my blood boil and I turned to glare at them. Their eyes widened when they saw me and turned their attention to their fake nails. Bitches! I started counting numbers from one to hundred to subside my anger. Janet looked up from her laptop and everyone turned towards her.

"So do you guys want a free period? It's Friday and I don't want to ruin your party moods with some math questions." She chuckled and everyone cheered happily. Now I knew why she was everyone's favorite.

"One condition, don't make noise and you can try to complete the sheets I have given to you. It's due on Monday morning."
Everyone nodded. Some engaged in chatting in hushed voices while some like Allie actually started working on her sheet. Actually Allie was the only one who was solving it. Janet noticed that and she smiled softly at my sister who was too busy to notice. I just started to doodle. There was noise in corridor and door flung open revealing two incarnations of Lucifer.

"What are you doing here?" Janet's eyes narrowed at them. I liked it when she was in teacher mode in school.

"We got our schedule changed due to practice sessions and we are now in your class, MOM." Nathan smirked at her.

"But there is no need of change of schedule because your practice sessions are after school."

"Mum, don't interrogate now. You can talk to coach and principle for this." Asher looked bored out of his mind. Janet didn't still believe him but gestured them to take a seat. All girls moved in their seats to get their attention but unfortunately they took seats behind us. This time, Asher sat behind me and Nathan behind Allie.

"Hey babe." Asher said taping my shoulder and I flipped him off which earned a chuckle from his brother.

"What? I'm being friendly." He defended himself.

"Friends don't go and kiss in front of everyone." I stated, my nostrils were flaring with anger.

"Oh, do you want to do it in private? I will keep that in mind." He smirked and my eyes widened. Heat raised in my cheeks as I turned ahead.

"I didn't mean that." I mumbled.
"I know. I was just messing." He laughed and turned to Allie,
"Hey Allie, are you coming for the party tonight?"

"Ummm, yeah?" she looked confused as she furrowed her brows.

"Great. My brother wanted me to confirm." He said with a smirk plastered on his face. I narrowed my eyes at Nathan at the same time, Allie looked Flabbergasted.
"I just wanted to know."Nathan held his hands in defense and suddenly something caught his attention. We all turned to look at Janet.

"Will you two stop disturbing people?" She scowled at twins, "You are distracting them. Allison, you should come and seat here with me as you are the only one who is willing to study." She stated. Allie nodded and I smiled triumphantly.

"What? No." Nathan grabbed Allie's hand and made her seat back.

"Nathan Bolton, what are you doing?" Janet narrowed her eyes at him and he smiled sheepishly.
"Come on Mom; don't make the little girl suffer. She is doing just fine in our company."

"Nathan, I will give you one more detention slips if you don't let her go." Janet said. It was all amusing as mother and her son were fighting with each other over my little sister who looked absolutely bewildered with whatever was going on.
"Mum, we are not distracting her. We were just talking, I promise but if you want we will leave her alone." Asher piped in.
"Good, Allison come here and complete your work and I need your help in little something." She smiled softly at my sister and my polite and too sweet sister went there without giving me a second glance.
"Sometimes I hate mom." Nathan mumbled quietly and my brow perked in attention.
"Why were you so persistent towards my sister?" I asked him and he looked baffled.

"I just didn't want you to feel alone, you know." He smiled at me which was more inclined towards what we call as devious.
"Whatever, stay away from my sister." I said and turned to look at Allie. She was smiling at something Janet told her and Janet was happily teaching her something.

"SO who is going to pick you up tonight?" Asher asked and I looked at him. What the hell was going on with them today?
"It's none of your business." I flipped him off again.
"There is no need to go all 'Hulk' on me. I just wanted to know." He said calmly which made me feel guilty.

"It's Caleb. He is picking us up." I sighed and told them. Nathan's face suddenly turned hard when he heard that name.
"What's with you?" I asked him and he just ignored me and watched Allie and Janet intently. I knew something was definitely up. They were planning something. Soon, bell rang and everyone dispersed in hallways.
"Don't you think those two are planning something against us? I mean they are being over friendly." I told Allie who let out a small laugh.

"Let it go, Brooke. Maybe you are being delusional."

"No. it's just... Never mind." I sighed and we went to next class only to find 'Evil Twins' already sitting there. They both had smirks plastered on their faces and I groaned loudly, earning few curious looks.

I grab a hold of Allie's hand and went to corner desk ditching our normal desk.

"Why are they in our every class?" I mumbled and Allie just shrugged.

"Avoiding us? Ignoring us?" Asher asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. His muscles popped out and it was drool worthy.

"Done checking me out?" he smirked at me.
"Cocky bastard."
"Ouch! That hurt." He placed his hand on his heart and I stuck my tongue out at him.
"So childish..." Nathan muttered while rolling his eyes.

"Shut the fuck up."

That's when I noticed whole class was enjoying our encounter. I huffed and sat straight which wasn't helping really because they were sitting across us.
Somehow the school ended and we came home. Before that we stopped at a shop to buy our dresses. Those were beautiful and we went home. Caleb was supposed to pick us up at 7 o'clock. Allie was still reluctant to go there but finally agreed. We passed the time and then chatted with Max and Ryan.

"No drinking. Do you hear me?" Max said sternly and we nodded.
"Come home by 11." Ryan piped in and Allie chuckled.

"If it's cool I'll be home by 8.30." everyone laughed at her great enthusiasm.

"You know, just call me if you want to come home. I will be there to pick you up." Max told her.

"You guys have a date. Do you remember right?" She asked and he nodded.

"What if you guys are late?" I asked smirking at them.

"Doesn't matter. I want you here by 11." Ryan.

"Okay dad." We both said and we all shared a laugh.

"Now, go, its 7, your friend will be here soon." They sent us upstairs to get ready. We changed in our clothes and applied some make-up. We stood in front of mirror and grinned at each other.

We took our coats and ran downstairs.
"Ohhh, you are looking so beautiful." Ryan said and kissed our foreheads.

"Thank you." We said simultaneously.

"Call me if someone tries to mess up with you." Max growled possessively and we chuckled.
"We will." I said and we hugged him. There was car horn and we came outside.

"Bye!"

"Hey guys.... Holy shit, you both are so pretty." Caleb hugged both of us.

"You look great too." Allie complemented and he smiled widely.

"Yes, you do." I told him too.
"Let's go, we don't wanna be late." We walked to his truck and in fifteen minutes we reached school. Party was held in gym. There was loud music playing. Caleb pushed us inside and excused himself for something. Allie tugged on my arm tightly.
"Brooke, I don't want to go in." she said and I just dragged her inside.

"One hour and then we will leave." I bargained and she reluctantly agreed. When we stepped inside, suddenly, music stopped and everyone turned towards us.

"What the hell!" I muttered under my breath. People started whispering and some jocks were shamelessly checking us out.
"Come on, Reece, play the music." We heard a voice and music started.

I and Allie ran to nearest booth avoiding gazes and slumped down on stools.

"Hello ladies, don't you have dates?" a guy with blond hair appeared in front of us with his small group of friends.

"Ummm, we have." I lied and he laughed with his friends.

"Don't lie, baby, I can't see anyone. Come on, let's have some fun." He grabbed my hand and I took it back with a jerk.

"Stay the hell away from them." I heard a calm voice and we turned towards it. I never felt so relieved to see the 'Evil Twins'.

"Fuck off, brother. Don't mess with our dates." Nathan's cold voice made me shiver. Those boys left without a word and I let out a breath, I didn't know I was holding.

"Thank you." Allie broke the silence and both of them nodded. They stood in front of us wearing their usual smirks. They both were wearing casual clothes but still look good in it. Girls were throwing flirty smiles at them.

"Hey guys." Caleb said and sat beside Allie. It seemed like he didn't see the twins.

"Where were you?" Allie asked him and he grinned at her and pulled out a box of candies. Those were Allie's favorite.

"Where did you get that?" Allie's eyes were brightened as she took that and popped one in her mouth and moaned a little in pleasure.

"Thank you." She childishly squealed and hugged Caleb. I laughed at her reaction.

My eyes turned towards twins, Asher looked amused as he was chuckling at Allie's reaction while Nathan had scowl on his face. I just ignored him as we started talking about party. Soon Asher also joined and surprisingly we were having fun.
"I'm going to get a drink." I stood up to leave but Asher caught my hand,

"Don't they are spiked." He said. My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him,
"How do you know?"

"Well because we may or may not have spiked that." He said nonchalantly.

"Shit! You seriously did?" Caleb had admiration on his face which was really disapproving.

"Yes! So if you want drinks then take this." He brought out two bottles from somewhere and gave it to me.

"How can I make sure that they are not spiked?"

"They are sealed." He rolled his eyes and I smiled sheepishly at him. Before I could open the bottle, Nathan came to us; his eyes were on Allie who was happily chatting with Caleb.
"Can I have one dance?" he put his hand forward and asked smoothly. Allie looked around her nervously, biting her bottom lip.
