CHAPTER I
"Damn it, where is my bag?" I yelled while stomping in my room.
"Stop it, Brooke, don't create a mess." My younger sister Allison scolded me as she entered in our room.
"Will you tell me where my dearest bag is because I don't want to juggle all the books in my two hands?" I stated as she sighed loudly,
"Downstairs." She replied and entered in our walk in closet to get ready for school.
"Thanks." I laughed sheepishly and ran downstairs where I saw Ryan and Max sitting on dining table.
"Good morning." Ryan said happily. I grumbled back in reply.
"Good morning." I heard my sister's oh so cheerful voice behind me and I rolled my eyes.
"Morning, Ally." Max said smiling.
Ok, let me introduce. My name is Brooklyn but I go by the name, Brooke. I'm a very sarcastic and feisty person unlike my little sister Allison who is very shy and sweet and polite and all that I can never be. She is one year younger which doesn't change anything because we are in same grade. No not because I'm dumb but because she is in all advanced classes and way too smart for her own age. So basically we are like twins who born with a year difference. Does it ring? No? Great, not that I care. So we moved here with Ryan and Max a month ago and let me clear one thing that they are gay. Damn! It's annoying but my sweet sister loves them both dearly as they are our guardians. I mean they are great and loving unlike the last family who were hell bent on kicking us out. But I am not really comfortable around them though I get along with Ryan. Max is more like Allie's type who loves to talk about deep thoughts. They both are 25 and high school sweethearts. Cliché! I know.
Coming back to me, I'm 17 where Ally is 16. As we are new, we are enrolled in a school nearby which is not near at all. It's our first day and I think I'm ready to kick some asses again.
"Don't you wanna eat breakfast?" Allie asked and I shook my head.
"Let's go, we will be late." I took her hand and dragged her out of house while waving goodbye to Ryan and Max who were shaking their heads in amusements. She smoothed her frock and walked beside me. Yes, there is one more difference between us, she loves dresses and I'm more of like jeans and tops. In next few minutes, we were in front of a school. It was bigger than I expected.
Students were talking in a group and all. It wasn't new for us as after every six months our foster family would kick us out and we moved to different house. I never really cared except for Allie. She always hated the idea of being new as it draws lot of attention. At that moment, also she was nervous like hell. We entered in hallway and everyone turned towards us. 'Ugh oh! Maybe they are not familiar with the concept of new students.' I tugged on Allie's arm as we walked in main office to collect our schedule. I had already bribed the lady sitting there with my charms to make our schedules same. I always did that as I knew Allison Davis was vulnerable without her sister.
"Brooke and Allison Davis." I told her and she handed us our schedules and other material like our locker number and other things. We thanked her and made our way to lockers. Hallway was packed with students and it took five minutes to find her locker. Luckily we both had adjacent lockers. I was about to go there when a sexy voice interrupted me,
"Well, I would be more careful if I was you before opening that locker." He stated and walked away.
Before I could say anything or even look at him, Allie opened the locker and a large frog jumped out of there. She screamed bloody murder and hugged me tightly. I heard hoots of laughter around us as people were surrounded us and laughing their asses off. Blood boiled in my body as I glared at them. That's when I saw that boy in the center with another boy who was laughing too.
"That was fucking hilarious." That another boy said and everyone agreed.
If it wasn't for Allie I would have broken his nose by now. I continued to glare at them as they both stepped forward.
"Look, it was just a welcoming prank." The first guy said.
"And moreover my brother warned you before opening the locker." The other one smirked. My eyes trailed to Allie who was slightly shaking in fear but was under control. Her eyes were casted towards ground.
"You both are assholes." I gritted.
"What's going on here?" a voice rang through hallways and everyone dispersed to their classroom, still giggling.
"We are dead." The guy muttered under his breath but anyway I heard it.
"What did you do now?" a lady came in view.
Maybe she was a teacher but she was really pretty. Her blue eyes were staring at the two boys who were looking at the ground.
"What happened here?" she turned towards us. They both glared at us warning not to say anything but there was no way I was going to let it go. I opened my mouth to say but Allie beat me to it,
"Nothing. It was nothing." She stuttered. I looked at her with wide eyes but she didn't meet mine.
"Are you sure?" the lady asked and she nodded again. She turned towards boys and crossed her arms as she surely didn't believe Allie's trembling lie.
"Come on mom, we didn't do anything." The one with blue eyes whined. Well, the one who warned us had hazel blue eyes and the other one had blue. Mom? Wait what? My eyes widened at that as I took a look at them. Of course there were similarities in them. Why I didn't notice before? Her ocean blue eyes turned back to us and she smiled gently,
"Go to your class or you will be late."
We both nodded. I glared at the boys who were trying their best to avoid the eye contact with their mother.
This time, Allie dragged me towards classroom. I was pissed but she knew how to calm me down. We reached classroom and everyone turned towards us. 'Jerks!' I muttered under my breath and we walked towards empty seats across the room. I slumped into the chair and then glared at everyone who was eyeing us. It wasn't long when teacher arrived and it was the same lady who scolded those boys. She smiled to which everyone replied with morning. Looks like everyone loves her. She didn't force us to introduce ourselves but just gave a welcoming smile. I was sure she was Allie's favorite teacher by now.
"So class, let's start with today's lecture?" she brought a book and started teaching. Trust me, she was good. Advanced math never felt this easy as I actually understood the concepts. When class was over Allie was practically smiling like an idiot as she was happy to find someone who could help her with her cumbersome doubts. Ok maybe I'm exaggerating but seriously I never understood what she said about math. Everyone bid their goodbye to teacher.
We were walking out when she called us,
"Umm, sorry I didn't introduce myself, I'm Janet Bolton. You can call me Janet; I mean that's okay as Mrs. Bolton sounds really old." She chuckled as Allie giggled.
"SO welcome to Heritage high. I know, you are new and in middle of semester but if you need anything just come to me and I will help you, okay?"
We both nodded and smiled at her.
"And about those boys, if they again play any prank just tell Me." she said sternly. I smirked and nodded. Well, there was no way I was gonna let them walk away with it. I would get back at them soon.
"What are you thinking?" Allie asked cautiously. I just grinned at her.
"Just tell me, Brooke, I can literally see the wheels in your head spinning really fast."
I laughed at her and linked our hands not saying anything.
After four lectures, lunch time arrived and I sighed loudly feeling like a free bird.
We came to lunch room which was filled with students. Lunch line was long but Allie had already packed our lunch so we just looked for a seat. Allie directed towards a corner seat and we headed there. She brought out two plastic bags and gave one to me.
"Ham and cheese! I love you, Allie." I exclaimed happily. We were about to eat when we heard a voice,
"Hello ladies." I turned towards a guy with blond hair and dark brown eyes. He was smiling mischievously at us.
"What do you want?" I asked arrogantly but Allie gave me a look which said 'Don't start now.' I just rolled my eyes and concentrated on my sandwich.
"That looks delicious." He sat beside Allie and took a piece from my sandwich.
"hey." I always hated it when somebody stole my food.
"Ummm... it's so amazing." He moaned while eating. Allie giggled when she saw that. He pushed his tray of food towards me and I just took the fries.
"They are not bad either." I said and he hummed in agreement.
"So hi, my name is Caleb and I know you are Brooke and Allison." He said and we nodded.
"Well it's really nice meeting you." He smiled at us.
"So don't you have friends? Why are you sitting with us?" I asked and he just shrugged.
"I like you both." He mumbled while eating.
"That was straight forward." I liked him immediately. He talked about himself. He was halfway through, maybe, I mean I was hoping for that because let me tell you I can't stand talkative people, when we heard line of sighs and squealing. We turned towards entrance when we saw those bastards coming inside. They walked like they owned the place. My face turned hard as I turned back to my head.
"I take that you don't really like them since the prank, right?" Caleb asked curiously.
"Of course not, I'm just thinking about a plan to embarrass them as they did to us." I stated.
"Whoa! I know why I like you; I have never seen a girl who doesn't fall for their charm. You guys are the first ones. That's cool." He laughed.
My brain started working like a roller coaster as I smiled evilly,
"Is there any possibility that you don't like them and would like to see them suffer?"
"Brooke!" Allie exclaimed and I just gave her a look. She sighed and ignored us.
"Ummm... No, I don't want to come into their bad side." Caleb leaned backwards in his seat.
"You are coward then."
"You don't know what they are capable of. So no! I don't want anything to do with them."
"Okay!" I slumped in my seat but I knew how to change his mind.
"By the way who are they?" I asked out of curiosity.
"They are Bolton. The guy with blue shirt is Asher; he is football quarterback and captain. The other one is his twin brother, Nathan, he is basketball captain. Their parents are loaded so basically they own this school. Everyone worship the ground they walk on and no matter what they do people would always back them up. But there is one person who can bring them down with a snap of her finger."
"Mrs. Bolton." Allie mumbled and Caleb turned towards him, shocked.
"How do you know?"
"Well, she kinda saved us from everything today." She filled him in and he nodded.
"You know everyone adore Janet. She is the best teacher here and very friendly so if you have any problem just go to her." he said. Allie smiled when she heard her name. Damn that girl!
"So what do you have in your mind?" Caleb asked and I just smirked at him.
