Chapter 2: Uma's love interest
Uma walks down the street with something in his bag. As he continues walking, he bumps into a girl.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to bump into like that!" The girl said, begging with forgiveness.
The boy said, looking at the girl's skin, "Hey, is that Ena?"
The girl's Ena glows as the girl tries to hid it from him. "What you know about Ena, you don't know anything about the sea!"
Uma said, "I think I do know a little bit about Ena. My best friend, Akira has Ena, and his family has it."
The girl couldn't believe that there is someone who has the same situation as her.
Uma felt something that he never felt before, by looking at the girl. Something makes his heart pound faster and makes him felt uneasy.
"Um... I'm Uma." The fourteen year old boy introduces himself blushly towards the girl as they make direct eye contact.
"Oh, I'm Hiami." She said, as they walk together.
Himami looks at Uma as she asks, "So, Uma, you said that Akria is your best friend, right?"
Uma said, looking up, "As long I can remember. Akaria is kind of shy but he knows what to do and would stand up for what is right."
Himai smiles, "It sounds like he's a good friend."
As the teens finally arrives to the ocean, Himai said, "I can swim on my own. Thanks for walking me home, Uma.
It's great to meet someone from the surface."
She jumps into the ocean to Shishisho as her mother was waiting for her.
"Mom, I'm home from school!" Himai said, closing the door behind her.
"Himai, why you didn't come home on time? Did something happen on your way from school?" Her mother asks .
The girl heasints . She doesn't know how to tell her mother that she meets a boy from the surface and he knows that she has Ena.
As she looks outside of her balcony, she notices a dark-blue haired boy with a school uniform of the Mihiama Middle School walking with the Chief Priest of Shioshishio.
"Now, Akria, I want you to go to send this message to your Uncle Hikari and your mother. It is something important to come to the village." He said to the young fourteen year old.
"Akira... is that the boy that Uma was talking about? " Himai thoughts as Akria nods at the Chief Priest.
She couldn't heasint any longer as she silently follows the young boy as he enters his house, yelling, "Mom! Dad, Munia, Hikari! I'm home!"
Akira walks inside the household , as the whole family stares at him, as his clothes were competely drenched with water and his hair was wet.
"Akira, where you gone off to after school?" Akari asks him with pure worry as she touches his clothes.
"It's nothing to be worried about, Mom. I'm competely fine. I just want to make a slight pit stop on the way home, that's all." Akria explains with annoyance.
Hikari looks at the note that he was holding into.
"Akira... what is that?" He asks his nephew as Akira said, "Oh, yeah. I meant to give this to you and Mom. It sounds so urgent."
Both of them look at each other as Akari took the note out her son's hands.
As they read it, their faces turn from curious to worry.
Hikari and Akrai went to their home where their father was waiting for them.
"Akari, Hikari . I'm glad you can make it." He greets them but Hikari couldn't stand his emotions any longer as he snaps in anger, "You just have to tell us that the Ofunikiki would be arriving on the exact date as the last one five years ago!
Why you didn't bother tell us right away? You have no idea how much it affected me when I finally rejoined up to the surface , only to find out that everyone surrounds me changed?!?"
Akari couldn't believe how much her brother has changed since the five year hiberation. She didn't know it would affect him that much, that emotion of anger and guilt he had hidden.
"We should focus on the Ofunikiki . We know that it starts when winter starts, just like last time.
Hikari, I think you should help the students pepare the statue of Ojoshi-sama." Akari suggested to her brother.
Hikari turns to his father, "I really don't know if Akira is up to the hibernation. He's the same age I am.
It's going to hard to explain since he barely knows me because of the last Ofunikiki. I just want to know him better."
He runs as he notices a girl who was watching him.
"Who are you? Come on out. I wouldn't harm you." He said as the girl came out.
"I'm Himai. I'm one of the classmates of your nephew, Akrai." She said, which causes him to be stunned of her knowing who his nephew is.
"How you know Akaria?" Hikari asks, stunned, but looks at her skin.
"I didn't know that you live here in Shishishio. I'm actually suprised that you had Ena like I do.
Listen, it's going to hard for you to understand , but you will experience things that you're not even aware of."
"Hikari, let's head back up to the surface! Munia and Akaria is waiting for us! " Akari said, waving him to go.
"I'll be right there, Sis! You should go up without me, I'll catch up." Hikari replied , looking at the young fourteen year old girl.
Kaname and Sayu walked together. "Hey, Sayu, isn't amazing that we known each other for three years?" Kaname asks Sayu.
"Kaname, you and I had a rough start. I was eight when we met and then the Ofunihiki started and you hibrated for five years.
I have to admit, I was actually scared of seeing you again, and I didn't know if you accept me as your girlfriend."
Kamane smiles as he kisses her on the cheek.
"Hey, it turns out all right in the end, didn't it? The Ofunehiki changed our lives forever. And I couldn't be more happier living in the surface with you, Sayu." He said, trying to cheer her up.
Sayu smiles a bit but then she notices something white coming through the clouds.
"Is that.." Kamane asks in disbelief as the snowflakes begins to drop.
"It's time again. I bet Hikari knows and went to the school right as we speak." Manaka said, looking at her friends in pure certainty.
