What I Hate/Love About Fred Weasley

Song in the media is Japanese. You don't have to listen to it but I did while writing this chapter so you can listen while reading.

"George?"

There was a soft knocking on the door. George didn't move to open it and continued to solemnly stare out the window.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?" George turned to see Hermione leaning against the doorframe. "The funeral is about to start."

"I don't want to go," George muttered softly and returned his attention to the window. He heard the door close and Hermione's footsteps fade away.

Good, I didn't want to go to his stupid funeral anyway, George angrily thought.

He looked down at the funeral about to take place. The people talking to his family members were shrouded in black with sorrowful expressions. For some reason, it angered George even more. These people didn't know Fred like he did.

"I get it, you're mad! You're upset and you don't know what to do," Ron had yelled at him a few weeks ago after he'd shouted at Ginny when she called him down for breakfast after a particularly nightmare induced night. "But so are we! You're not the only one who misses him!"

George merely crossed his arms and scowled.

Ron shook his head in disappointment, "This isn't like you at all."

"I don't need my little brother to scold me," George snapped indignantly.

"Look," Ron snarled back, "if you need to take out your anger, don't take it out on us! Take it out on a blank piece of parchment."

George averted his eyes away from the window and on to a quill piece of parchment on the desk he was sitting at.

Take it out on a piece of parchment, Ron had said. George never thought he'd live to see the day when Ickle Ronniekins was wiser than him. With nothing better to do, George decided to heed his advice.

Half an hour later, George had two completed lists. He read through the first list titled "What I Hate About Fred Weasley."

1. When we were ten, he ate all my Chocolate Frogs.

2. He pushed me out of a tree when we were eight and broke my leg.

3. He's way too reckless and has too much fun.

4. He likes to upset me.

5. In fourth year, he called me selfish and screamed at me after some girl he fancied asked me out and I said yes. This resulted in a huge fight (over a girl, of all things!) that ended with me storming out of the dormitory in tears (very embarrassing, I know).

6. He gets mad easily.

7. He caused me to get detention from McGonagall in third year when he threw a Gobstone at the back of Katie Bell's head and she thought it was me.

8. Sometimes he likes to pretend he's me around other people and makes them mad at me.

9. He thinks I'm too sensitive.

10. To everyone, it's always "Fred and George." Never "George and Fred."

11. He decided to go with Percy instead me during the battle and died.

George noticed that his handwriting on number eleven was bolder from pressing down harder on the quill. Trying to not look at it, he began to read through his second list titled "What I Love About Fred Weasley."

1. After he ate all of my Chocolage Frogs when we were ten, he saved up money to buy more for me.

2. He never left my bedside when my leg was broken.

3. He forces me to have fun when I'm stressed.

4. He likes to make me laugh after he upsets me.

5. When I ran out crying from our fight in fourth year, he ran after me and apologized. I know he meant it.

6. He forgives easily.

7. He threw a Gobstone at Angelina Johnson's head and got detention with me so I wouldn't be lonely. Somehow, we managed to have fun cleaning the trophies.

8. When I was too scared to ask out a girl I fancied, he pretended to be me and asked her for me.

9. He says my sensitivity balances his "annoying" tendency to disregard others' feelings. His words, not mine.

10. He never lets me forget that it doesn't matter what order people say our names. "And even if they do think of us like that, it doesn't matter to me because I know it's not true. I'd be lost without you. You and me, we're a team," he said.

11. He never made any empty promises about coming back. I hate empty promises.

12. He'd probably come back from the dead to haunt me if I ever tried to forget about him.

13. So, basically, everything about him.

George felt like he could hear him now. If Fred was here, he'd probably smack him on the back of the head and say, "Don't mourn me for too long, it makes you boring."

For the first time in a long time, George allowed himself to smile.

I haven't written in forever, so I'd appreciate feedback. Another thing, that quote "You and me, we're a team," isn't mine. It's from A Monster Calls trailer. And the coming back from the dead to haunt him is a reference to Your Lie in April. That's it for now, remember constructive criticism, and goodbye!
