1. The anemone was animated using the same technology as Sulley's hair from Monsters Inc.
2. The turtle kids' shells are meant to look like Hawaiian shirts.
3. Darla is named after Darla Anderson, the producer of Monsters Inc. She played a lot of practical jokes on Andrew Stanton (director of Nemo). She believes this was his way of getting back at her.
4. The seagulls "mine" squawks were translated into as many as 15 other languages.
5. Geoffrey Rush literally held his tongue while recording some of his lines as Nigel. This was so it sounded like he had Marlin and Dory in his beak when he talked.

7. The movie's art team went thought marine training prior to production. They took courses in marine biology, oceanography and ichthyology as well a scuba diving classes. This was done so they got the look and feel of the characters and atmosphere just right.
8. In an early version of the story, Gill was a villain.
9. The movie's popularity led to population stress for clownfish as so many people wanted to buy fish that looked just like Nemo.
10. People started flushing fish to "set them free", when in fact, predatory and venomous fish species were introduced to places they shouldn't be, which resulted in an ecological imbalance.
