Forest Fairies - Woobin💕

Y/N stood in front of the mirror, examining her outfit. Annoyingly, it had taken her forever to decide what to wear. She wasn't exactly sure how to look cute for their first date, but still be in clothes that would be comfortable for hiking.

When she'd suggested that they go hiking together someday, she hadn't expected him to jump on the idea so quickly. She certainly hadn't expected it to be their first date. But then again, maybe being in the calming atmosphere of nature would be perfect for a first date.

She heard a knock on her front door, and felt the butterflies in her stomach again. She touched her face, already blushing even though she hadn't seen him. Tilting her head at herself in the mirror, she debated whether or not to put a pin in her hair. She debated whether she should tie her hair up or not.

"Stop being ridiculous," she whispered, shaking her head at herself. Her hair was fine just the way it was. She didn't need to tie it up, she didn't need to put a pin in it. Her outfit was fine. She looked fine. They were just going to the woods, for goodness sake.

She went to open the door, where he was already waiting for her. He smiled at her, one of his usual shy smiles that made her heart melt.

"You look beautiful," he whispered.

She blushed some more. "You clean up pretty nice yourself," she responded with a grin. In simple jeans and a t-shirt, he still looked gorgeous.

They stood there, in front of her door, for a moment, simply looking at each other. Neither of them moved or said anything for a minute.

And then she burst out laughing. "You're more nervous than me, aren't you?"

He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, chuckling too. "Is it that obvious?"

She giggled. "Just a little."

Woobin finally broke into a big smile, some of his nerves seeming to fade away. He shyly held out his hand to her, and she took it, breaking into a giant smile of her own. He walked her to his car, opening the door for her and closing it after she got inside; a perfect gentleman. She bit her lip, struggling to tone down her excitement.

He went to the trunk and took something out before joining her at the front. "I brought you a present," he said softly, handing a small black box to her.

She opened it, and couldn't help the little gasp that escaped her. It was a silver infinity necklace, and it was beautiful.

"This is gorgeous," she whispered, tearing up.

"I wrote a card too, but you have to wait until you get back home to read it, okay?" Woobin said, handing her an envelope.

Y/N leaned over and gave him a hug. "You're the best."

"Am I doing well?"

"You're doing great," she said with a laugh. "Next time, I'll get you a present."

"That's okay," he said quickly. "You don't have to."

"And you didn't have to buy me this, but you did, and it's beautiful," she said, trailing off with a sigh. She took the necklace out of the box and handed it to him, turning around so that he could put it on her.

He put the necklace around her neck, his fingers tickling her neck. When he finished, he kept hugging her. She leaned her head towards him.

"We're going to be late for the mountains," she said playfully.

"They can wait," he responded, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before letting go. She giggled.

"Where did shy Woobin go?"

"He's still here," Woobin assured her with a cute laugh. "But he's getting a little more confident."

"I can see that!" she exclaimed, swatting his shoulder lightly. He laughed at her and started the car.

She took out her phone, going to her Cravity playlist and pressing shuffle play. Cloud 9 came on, and she smiled. It was easily the cutest song of the album.

"You should perform this for me sometime," she told Woobin.

"Should I?" he said thoughtfully, glancing over at her. "Maybe that'll be your next present."

"Ooooh really?!?!?!?!"

"Of course."

"Could you teach me the choreography for Break All The Rules?"

"Sure."

"And Jumper?!?!"

"Hmmm... I'll think about it."

Y/N turned to him and tried to glare at him, but one of his cute smiles and any attempt at pretending to be mad went out the window.

"Why is learning Jumper a maybe?"

"Because that's the song that Jooheon hyung gave us," he said, staring straight ahead. He switched lanes and got off the highway. "It's special. I don't know if I should teach it to you."

"Am I not special enough?" Y/N asked, gasping dramatically.

"Mhm," he said, and she slapped his shoulder lightly.

"Ow!" he whined, looking over at her. "Fine. You can learn Jumper. Only if you stop hitting my shoulder. It's sore."

"I make no promises," Y/N declared, winking at him playfully.

He laughed, blushing slightly. "You're cute." He parked the car and got out, walking around and opening the door for her. He stared at her for a moment, tilting his head. "That necklace is pretty," he commented, a hint of mischief entering his eyes. "Is it new?"

"It is, actually," she said, flipping her hair. "My boyfriend gave it to me. Do you like it?"

He laughed, taking her hand. "I love it," he said.

But Woobin didn't seem to be talking about the necklace anymore, not really. His eyes were locked in hers.

She blushed, looking away. "Let's go on that hike, shall we?"

"Did you take a map?"

"I didn't think we needed one."

She sighed, running a hand through her hair and yanking on the ends of it in frustration. "Does your phone have signal? Mine doesn't."

"Mine doesn't either. We should try heading back on the route we came on."

"We branched off in so many different trails though, do you even remember which ones we took? Because I don't."

He frowned, looking nervous. "Not really."

Y/N sighed again, tilting her head back. The sun was setting and they were lost. This was great. They could be stuck in the woods all night.

"I'm sorry," Woobin said softly, his gaze on the floor. He shuffled his feet nervously. "This is a terrible first date, isn't it?"

She reached for his hand, and when he looked up at her, she shook her head. "Being lost isn't great," she admitted. "But I'm happy to be here with you."

One of those heart crushing shy smiles fluttered on his lips, and her smile grew wider in return. She squeezed his hand. "Let's try to find our way out, shall we?"

He nodded, and started leading the way back as the sun set behind them. They'd only walked for about fifteen minutes when he stopped suddenly, so suddenly that she walked into his back.

"Everything alright?"

"Do you hear that?"

She pressed herself against his side, thinking that he meant a bear, or other wild animal. She closed her eyes tight. That's it. They were doomed.

"I think I hear cars," Woobin said. "Coming from that way," he continued, taking her hand again and going off the trail, walking towards the sound.

It was harder walking off the trail, and she felt her ankles getting scratched. He helped her over logs, and once, when she slipped, he put his hand and around her waist and steadied her. Despite everything, her heart was beating loudly, and she could almost be happy about getting lost.

They reached the highway and Woobin let out a happy sigh of relief, hugging her and picking her up, swinging her around; he was so excited.

Y/N giggled, putting her hands on both sides of his face. "You did it," she said, hugging him again in relief.

She took out her phone, relieved to see that she was finally getting signal. She called the police and they said they'd be on their way to pick them up.

There must have been park rangers nearby, because before she knew it, they were picked up and on their way to the parking lot. It wasn't that far, but she couldn't imagine ever finding her way back through the forest.

Soon, they were back in Woobin's car.

They stared at each other for a second before bursting into laughter.

"What an adventure!" she exclaimed.

"Best first date ever, I'm sure," he said sarcastically.

"Next time, let's go to a café or something."

"I think we should definitely stay away from the forest for a little while."

"And when we come back, we should come early. And take a map."

"Absolutely. And stay on the main trail."

They stayed there in the parking lot for a couple minutes, laughing and talking. And everything was absolutely perfect. Despite everything, she thought that this was the best first date ever. And looking into his eyes, she could tell that he thought so too.
