The Booth

Update: This story will now be told in third person.

The first day on the "job" as a hostess was...something for (Y/N). Too much had happened in the span of a week and yet it was only the beginning. (Y/N) walked home after school, ready to collapse on a nice cushion whether it be the couch or bed, maybe even the floor. "(Y/N), your home so soon? I must be losing track of time." (Y/N)'s guardian asked, walking towards (Y/N). "You and me both..."She chuckles as (Y/N) stretches, finally happy she was home, until tomorrow. Just thinking about tomorrow made her groan.

'What am I going to do. What am I going to do...' (Y/N) thought as she nuzzled into a pillow she had grabbed. As her thoughts about the host club clouded her mind, she had started to drift off into sleep.

"(Y/n)? Hello?" A voice echoed faintly.

"Wake up, you're going to make boss mad." Another voice echoed.

"Hey, Hey don't crowd her." Another voice spoke this time it was clear.

(Y/N) groaned as she started to lift her head. (Y/n) opened her eyes to see a figure, no,  seven figures all hovering over her. Well at least one of them trying to push someone away from her to create some space. Finally (Y/N) sat up straight from the couch, rubbing her eyes.

"Huh?" (Y/N) started off as she yawned and stretched. She was finally able to see who was speaking. It was none other than the host club.

"Wait. How? What-"(Y/n) was trying to comprehend how she got there when she was just at home. (Y/N) was daydreaming through all her classes. Must've been a long day for her yesterday that she forgot she had woken up and started another day.

"Seems like someone doesn't remember walking back into the club. Seems like you are a trustworthy member." Kyoya spoke up as he wrote in his little notebook.

"That's perfect! You are the genuine type!" Tamaki pointed with a proud and determined expression.

(Y/n) pointed at herself, confused since she was still waking up.

"Woah woah. Type? I thought I was the host club's assistant? I can't be a type." (Y/n) slightly panicked. 'This is not what I had planned let alone be swept up into this hosting nonsense.' (Y/n) pondered. "Well if you are going to be part of the host club then a title such as that is needed." Hikaru spoke. "Yeah, besides, no one will introduce you like that. Only the host club, unless of course someone requests you." Karou spoke after. "Hey Boss, is that even possible? For someone to request an assistant?" Hikaru asked. Everyone turned their head to him.

Tamaki had his arm crossed with one hand holding his chin. "Well...I don't see why not."

"Wait a minute, if that's true then why hasn't Kyoya been a part of this? He's an assistant in some way right? Why does he get out of this?" (Y/n) was trying to find a way out of this.

"It's obvious. I'm just busy, and it's my job as well to promote the work done by the members. So in a way I do contribute, with some images of me as well." Kyoya responded in a smart way with a small shrug and closing his eyes.

"Can I just continue to provide sweets and tea? I don't feel right doing this. I'm more of the 'blend with the crowd' type of person." (Y/n) requested respectfully.

"I-"

"Of course you can. We can all agree to respect your request." Haruhi cut off Tamaki.

(Y/n) let out a sigh of relief. "I appreciate it..."

Silence filled the room. A pin could be heard from how quiet it was. "So where is everyone?" (Y/n) spoke up. "Yeah. Didn't you say to come in today?" Honey tilted his head in a cute manner. "Why I'm glad you asked! Take a glance outside!" Tamaki smiled brightly as everyone but him and Kyoya made their way to the window. To their surprise, there was a festival down on the schools courtyard. Full of games, snacks, and activities.

"Damn, is this even in their budget..." (Y/n) muttered.

"Of course it is...We are sons of the wealthiest. All for Haruhi of course." Kyoya had that cocky smile. (Y/n) glances at Kyoya. "I apologize if this seems rude but I think it's a little inconsiderate to speak about others' economic status. We're all human still.." (Y/n) stood up for Haruhi, calm and composed.

Haruhi had glanced at (Y/N) in awe. The world froze for a moment. It was like a light bulb flicked, yet she felt the flickering beat in her heart. Haruhi hasn't heard anyone stand up to Kyoya besides her. Haruhi was in awe for a bit longer before looking back outside at the students with a faint smile of admiration and gratitude.

Kyoya in response finally looked at (Y/n) with the same bland expression. He was shocked himself but he let it slide. "You're absolutely correct, I should've known better." He bowed.

Suddenly, two elbows on each side of (Y/n)'s head added weight to her head.

"Woooow, tough guy right here."

"Only your second day and you've already bossed the Kyoya Otari."

The twins of course.

"I-It wasn't like that, promise. I just felt it was a little out of pocket." (Y/n) waved her hands dismissively. The twins ruffled her hair with a childish grin, knowing they were embarrassing her.

"I'm assuming that booth with the roses and cardboard stands of us is ours." Haruhi couldn't help but look a little unamused at the sight. Many of the girls were taking pictures with each of their favorite host. Fan-girling and such. Classic. "Right you are my little Haruhi. No time to waste, our guests are waiting!" With that, Tamaki leads the host club down to the festival. As they were walking through Ouran's gran hallways, those along the way couldn't help but stare being starstruck at the gorgeous group of boys. (Y/n) was in the back of the line, hands behind her back and eyes glancing down. She knew she wasn't being the one stared at but regardless she didn't want the attention to be on her as well. So she remained silent until they reached the courtyard.

Once they made it to the courtyard, more people squealed and shouted at the sight of the members. They all waved as they walked to their booth.

"Today boys, and girls...today we are making our guests dreams come true! We will be behind this curtain and by request of a button the curtain will open to reveal one of us to display our affection in front of the others." Tamaki explains.

'Why did he say 'girls'?" (Y/n) pondered. Her thoughts were cut off when she saw the host clubs manager show up. "I will be the MC of this beautiful booth. Hyping the crowd and calling out the names of the members that get chosen." Renge grabs the mic and twirls.

"Ready boys?"

The moment arrived. The members were situated on the left and right wing of the little booth. (Y/n) was settled on one side of the wing with the different colored roses, each representing the members. The girls can be heard on the other side of the curtain, murmuring and giggling.

"Don't be shy, come up!" Renge spoke to the first guest in line. She stood beside Renge.

"Which of the seven boys does your heart admire?"

"W-Well, I can't get over how beautiful and blue Tamaki's eyes are. I could just get lost in the them." A girl sheepishly answered Renge into the mic. That was (Y/N)'s cue to hand Tamaki the white rose. Just like that, (Y/n) pulled the curtain to reveal Tamaki holding the rose in his hand, walking towards the girl.

"You couldn't be anymore wrong, your beauty is something that can even make an angel cry with that glow you radiate." Tamaki took her by the hand and gave the flower as his hand touched hers for a moment, allowing both to hold the flower together. As usual, the girl was swooning and the crowd just went crazy, wanting more. Tamaki bowed then walked back to the curtain, once behind, the curtain closed once again.

Each member had their own catch line and way to sweep the girls off their feet.

The Hiitachin brothers would sandwich one. Honey-senpai would spin with one along with usa-chan. Mori would hold one by the waist and spin with her. Kyoya would go on one knee and say some endearing things. Haruhi would place the flower in their hair and wish them the best in whatever they have planned for the future. All while giving their rose to the girls.

The festival was finally over with everyone cleaning up and taking everything down. (Y/n) helped out along with the rest of the members. The sun was setting and everyone made it back to the music room to put the equipment away.

"Good job boys and of course our girls. Let's call it a night! We will see each other Monday!" Another day of yet another shenanigan with girls falling for boys. (Y/n) was ready to turn and leave until Honey called out to her.

(Y/n) turned around to see Honey walk up to her with hands behind his back. He reveals a pink rose, offering it. (Y/n)'s eyes widen from shock. This was unexpected.

"Thank you (Y/n)-chan,for helping! We couldn't have done this without your help!" Honey giggles. This sentiment touched (Y/n)'s heart.

Mori walked up to (Y/n) with a dark blue rose handing it to her. Giving her a head pat after. "Thank you."

"I know it's a lot to process but you can do this. You're doing great." Haruhi handed her a red rose.

"I couldn't have done this without your assistance." Kyoya, adding his purple rose to her hand.

"It's all thanks to you for making the best of this event." Hikaru, the turquoise flower. "What Hikaru said but with a lot more gratitude and appreciation." Kaoru joked as he placed his orange rose.

Tamaki was last. He walked up towards (y/n), nearly towering her from his height. He place the rose gently with the other bunch in her hand.

"Welcome to the Host Club..."He looked down at the white flower then back at (Y/n).

As they gave (Y/N) her flower, each member walked passed her towards the door. Grouping up until the last member. (Y/n) was still facing the opposite way where all the members were before they all walked passed her. (Y/n) looked down at all the flowers that each member had gave her, it made a small bouquet of colorful roses. (Y/n) slowly turned around the see all the members in their group position. As she turned her body, her eyes remained on the bouquet then she looked at the members with a stunned yet calm look.

"I'll see you again Monday..." (Y/n) smiled softly indicating that she won't be leaving anytime soon. She joined them in leaving music room three then going their separate ways.

(Y/n) walked home with the beautiful bouquet. Once arriving, (Y/n) grabbed a vase filling it with water, then placing the roses carefully, leaving the bouquet on the table as a centerpiece. (Y/n) left to her room, turning off the light on the way.

The roses were left in the silence of the home—glimmering in the moonlight.
