A Reflection in F Major

Another day at the beautiful Ouran Academy. Another day at the Host Club where the school's handsomest boys with too much time on their hands entertain young ladies who also have way too much time on their hands.

What could happen in today's chapter?

Today, (Y/N) opened the door and made sure to close her mouth as to not choke on the rose petals. How can they do that every single time.

"Welcome.." The voices echoed as the bright light fades to reveal the Host Club.

"Oh, it's just (Y/n)." Hikaru starts.

"Hey technically I'm still a guest. I'd like the same greeting too you know." She said sarcastically.

"Is that so?" Kaoru grinned. "Well then..." Hikaru followed.

Both walked up to her, hand on each side of her waist. "Welcome Princess~"

"Hey! No No! I'm the main character! Not you two!" Tamaki's tantrum of course.

"Now this just feels forced." (Y/N) responded with her face flushed but keeping her cool.

"Forced? Then why are you red in the face?" They grinned as she poked her cheek. One on each side of her. (Y/N) shooed them off. "Okay okay. I'm not one of your guests, I take back what I said." She pouts as the twins backed off.

Then that's when (Y/N) finally took note of the room. The decor was some sort of imitation of Cinderella. Great...

"Let me guess...A ball?"

"You don't sound so excited about it." Tamaki responded with a huff.

"You're asking the wrong person. I know how to differentiate reality and fiction. I know it will make the guests run wild though." (Y/N) shrugs.

"You're too cool for that?" The twins ask in a taunting way, of course in unison, as always.

Silence fills the room. As the host club stares at (Y/N).

"You don't know how to dance, do you...?" Kyoya broke the silence. (Y/N)'s eyes widen as she gasped softly from shock. She wanted to scrunch up and hide in a corner. She averted her eyes as she crossed her arms.

"Of course I know how to dance. I can probably dance better than any of you." She stuck out her tongue. No one bought it. They just snickered at her comment. There is no way a bunch of rich pretty boys could be mediocre compared to her.

"Wow (Y/N)! You must be a professional!" Honey exclaimed with those pink flowers that somehow hover around his child like visuals.

"Enough men! Besides, it won't be a dance. We had one recently anyways, and the most charming dance I imagine would be at the Ouran Fair!" Tamaki dramatically expresses.

(Y/N) let out a soft exhale, relieved about not having to dance. She hated dancing..

"Get changed everyone! Our Royal evening begins any moment!" With the order of the prince, everyone scattered to change into a fantasy costume.

'How is this even in budget?'

The Host Club is now open for business!

"Oh Tamaki, you're the perfect prince charming..."

"And you my dear are the princess I have been searching for. Please..." Tamaki took one of the guests hand and placed a peck on her hand.

"Don't run away." The girls screamed and swooned...as usual.

"Rawr! I'm the wolf man! Have a sweet treat with me! Be my guest!" Honey giggles as Mori stood beside him. We think Mori is the beast.

"Don't fall asleep princess." Hikaru starts.

"Or else we'll have to kiss you to wake you up." Kaoru smirks.

"Look ladies, a crown. I found it and not sure who it belongs to. Maybe you could give it a try." Haruhi of course had the most gentle way of greeting the ladies.

Kyoya...wasn't really participating. He was just being stared at from the guest from a far as he worked for the financials.

While the boys went about their way of pleasing ladies, (Y/N) was off to the side, dressed up as a butler.

How fitting.

She didn't care of course. As long as she isn't apart of this, she was satisfied. Even if it was just to serve sweets and tea. There was a moment though where the need to service was at a hold and (Y/N) curiosity got the best of her. She set down the sets and wandered about the music room. She wandered off to a secluded section.

'I wonder...'

(Y/N) had found it.

The guests, including the hosts were too busy talking to realize she had disappeared. Then it finally hit them, the moment they heard the most beautiful melody. The room went silent. All staring towards where the music was playing.

"Where is that music coming from..." Tamaki stood up from his seat. Soon everyone became so curious.

The host club as a group followed along with the guests. Curious as to who was playing.
They all sneaked up quietly to find (Y/N) playing the violin. She was so moved and focused she was practically swaying with the gentle music. She wasn't facing them but when she does, she will be met with a surprise. The Host club watched in awe and the guests were so touched and moved to tears. They had their hands clasped together over their heart was they watched in silence. It wasn't long until she felt that someone was watching her.

(Y/N) finally opened her eyes and acknowledged the audience she had brought in. She stopped immediately and grew red. She didn't realize how many eyes were watching.

"(Y/N) you--"

"I-I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to--"

"No no. Your talent...it's..." Tamaki paused. His world froze as he envisioned a moment from his past. The image of him playing for his mother. He couldn't help but smile softly.

"Please play more (Y/N)-chan!" Honey exclaimed. Then the ladies followed.

"Yes! Please play more!" All in unison

(Y/N)'s eyes glimmered for a moment as she watched the whole room begged her to play. At first she stood still, taking in this moment. She smiles softly and rests her eyes and lifts up the violin once again. The bow touching the strings and her fingers on the fingerboard.

"Why don't you share your talents with the world?"

"I just don't think it's suitable. It won't get me in any line of work...It should be left as a hobby."

In a dark room where a single spotlight shines upon the young (Y/N) hugging the violin close to her. It was a passion but now she has to put that away. The spotlight shuts off. The music playing in the background as she opened her eyes a bit.

'Maybe in another world...'

"(Y/N).." Mori spoke, bringing (Y/N) back to reality. Time had passed and everyone was gone. Not even remembering when everyone left or if she even said goodbye.

She looked up at him with tears welling up.  Something about the sight of her moved his heart...A flicker of light shined in his dark grey eyes. Mori never expected to see her like this. It must be deep. Of course, he didn't express much outward emotion but he felt it in his heart...

The Host Club had watched her. A little lost. They knew she had a tendency to space out but only when it came to the activities they have.

"So when were you going to tell us you had a talent?" The twins showed up in front of her, causing her to stumble back. Holding her arm up, a little caught off guard from their appearance.

"How do you two do that..." She asked a little nervous.

"That doesn't matter." The two say in unison.

"I knew you were a beautiful asset to our club dear (Y/N), you're a diamond in the rough!" Tamaki exclaims.

All the comments were overwhelming and so positive. It was refreshing.

"Thanks you guys but I should apologize, I let my curiosity get the best of me."

"This is a music room after all." Kyoya added.

"Really now?" Haruhi glanced at Kyoya with a slight discomfort regarding all the crazy things she's seen in said music room.

"It's nothing new. It's a hobby, but I'm happy to hear it went well with the guests. Guess I am making others happy." (Y/N) chuckles.  She looked at the empty room and wondered what it looked like if it wasn't the host club. Why was it abandoned anyways? That didn't matter right now...She was satisfied regardless. (Y/N) looked back at the host club with a smile.

"I think I'm going to like it here."

The Host Club's eyes widen with pure awe and shock from her unexpected words. (Y/N) just envisioned many beautiful memories she could make with them despite being pulled in. It wasn't Kyoya's persuasion, but her heart. She impulsively walked into the music room #3 everyday and now..

"Why don't you share your talents with the world?"

'Maybe in another world...'

She wouldn't miss it...not even for the world.
