Sorry I wad gone for a bit, stuff happened

Anyway, its part 2 now, and the final part of this book

Damn I'm gonna miss this

This part will be digital art, cuz boy have I improved in the past 2 years

There will be 10 old art, 8 from today, and 2 redraws, cuz yes, I decided to do that

Also note that I no longer have the original files of the 2018 art, these were screenshoted from the 2nd amd 3rd part of this book and cropped

So yeah... lets get on with it already, lets see the trash. And trust me, even though I can now do 10, it was still hard to choose

My first ever drawing on my program of choice, Ibis Paint X

I want to be less lazy and sort of quickly dissect each piece, so Imma do that now

I remember that the brush I used alot back then for coloring and shading anf stuff was the Watercolor(Bleed) and I think the lineart here is the Pencil 2. Ngl, the coloring is super messy and I can see some unfinished parts. The shading is weird. Back then, I didn't really know things like layer modes, clipping, selction, etc. like I do now, so that shading was literally just me eyedropping the color and darkening/lightening it. Yeah, you can imagine how hard Azriel's shirt was

I should probably redraw this soon, after all, my style changed quited a bit

Ah, finally, I decided to use the bucket tool and selection for this. I can't tell what brush was used for the lineart, but I can tell the shading was still the Watercolor(Bleed)
Also kinda kudos to past me for using the tail to avoid drawing legs lol-

Oh wow its this one

When I was in the Baldi's Basic craze for like- a week

Everything is same old, same brush used for shading, but I think the brush I used to draw whas the felt tip pen. Honestly, I don't like the shading, its hella messy and I think that red stuff on Playtime's hand is lighting, but because I didn't set the layer(of it was on a seperate layer) to some other layer mode like Add or Overlay, I couldn't at all tell

Also keep this one in mind

But yeah, another lineless one, an attempt at painting. Cuz I think at the time, I was a huge fan of an artist named WalkingMelonsAAA(now SpectroliteAAA) and she had a nice, cartoony but painty style, which I really wanted to replicate.
(Heres one of her speedpaints just to show you her style)

(This one is kinda old but damn do I still love this- that lighting--)
But yeah, here, the shading is once again messy and makes it seem flat. And plus, the line around the outer area are super messy

This one is also something I hope to redraw soon

For this one, I actually discovered the use of Color Dodge and f*cking finally, Multiply. The colors of the background were actually super dark until I put the lighting(which was on Color Dodge) over it, which lightened it. I was proud of this, still kinda am, mainly cuz I managed to pull not 1, but 6 cracking patterns. Tho now, they look less like stone cracks amd more like glass(unless thats what I was going for, even in the context of the book, it doesn't make sense), also Herobrines eyes up there are quite jagedy with clear eraser working

But yeah, still proud

Oh look its the 2 hour sketch

This was an attempt to replicate WalkingMelon's sketching style, which... ehhh-. I don't have much to say about this other than this shows my old problem of drawing large hips and legs on characters and that I really want to redraw this

Fun fact, the bird and the unicorn in the background were completely unecessary and I only added them in order to fill that large empty space on top cuz I didn't know how to trim the canvas in the program-

But yeah, this ones pretty okay and I hope to maybe redraw this one day soon

And if you're wondering, the basic theme of this piece was something like "Dull Beauty or Colorful Mess" or something

Ey some SSS fanart

I have more fanart but I chose this one cuz I love this scene in the book, the Poofles vibes were endless

Again, same brush and stuff. Also during this time, I didn't know the filters so I had to use the blur tool in order to blur the background and forground. Today I would have used the Gaussian Blur or Lens Blur filter
That light ray I remember just making a short line with the flat brush then perspective warping it into oblivion. Tho I can't tell what layer mode was used for it, definatly not add tho..

Keep an eye out for this too

Ey look Dark its the headcanon

I'm pretty sure this was my first headcanon too so thats real nice

But damn that English, that was only 2 years ago but damn...

This is a real simple pic, but that shading with the Pencil 2 brush... ehhh, there are alot of dark areas in the leaves where I went over it too much(I turned the opacity of the brush down)

But overall, its a really cute headcanon and drawing, even with all the outdated mistakes

And finally

In case you're wondering, its my avatar as an X-Tale character(its an Undertale UA by Jael Peñaloza or Jakei and you may know it if you watch Underverse, also by Jakei)

I read the X-Tale comic(which is now confirmed to be no longer canon) and I really like the artstyle which is very monochromatic and certain colors are replaced with screentones of diffirent shades. Some colors of segnificant objects like red, yellow, and purple are exception to this. Also theres alot of purple in X-Tale...

So yeah, I decided to try with the screen tones, and to me, its pretty okay. Also I noticed that while the spear's glow doesn't have a layer effect, the one in the eye does, and its in Add. Idk what was up with past me

Also this reminds that that I should use screentones sometime, its been a long while

So yeah, that was all the old and crappy art of ancient 2018

Now onto the new and crappy art of modern 2020 :D

So we have one of the first ones of 2020, mah boi Mars

I think the brush I used for the lineart was Pencil Graphite, cuz its smoother than the other 2 Pencils

Also like- that neck tho holy- this was only made months ago but now I wouldn't really draw any one with that thin of a neck

I think the brush is the Pen(Fade)

And I now prefer this style of shading than the cell one from the previous one, the new one just feels more natural and less artificial to me

Fun fact, for the lighting I actually used Overlay for the layer mode because I saw a lighting tutorial by JelArts where she used Overlay, but since it wasn't strong enough, I had to make multiple Overlay layer. Shortly after I finished this and published it, I could have just used Add instead. 1 Add layer is like- 10 Overlay layers
I was so dumb

Also the light rays and lens flares were free stock images I found on google

Basically don't be afraid to use stock images in your art, its not always 'cheating'

Ah its my animal sketches

Cuz I've been watching too much Animalogic

Oh well

Since I did this with my tumb(like all the 2020 ones. Yes, the 2018 ones I used a phone with a built-in stylus), the animals aren't as accurate as they could be, trust me, I could do better if I was holding a pen instead of using my frikin dead-by-now tumb.
Honestly, I'm most proud of the shading, especially with that jellyfish

Also good luck naming all the animals cuz I don't remember either >:'D

Ey its my art for my (other)pink Gravity Girl, Yaya from Boboiboy Galaxy(specifically this is her design from the 2nd movie- yes theres 2 movies and a 3rd on the way-)

I'll give my honest opinion, I don't really like this one
This was the first 'big' piece I did in a while, and before I did this, I found an artist named Ariieya Senpie who has an anime-like style(she's also the illustrator of the BBB comics- yes there are comics-) and if you seen the chapter about her here you know I went through a brief time of low self-esteem cuz omg her art is always good like-

Gjdhthsjwj that shading and lighting and the choice of music it sounds like a distant memory or something else thats malencholic especially the second song why Young by Vallis Alps like that song isn't malencholic enough and plus its mah Photosynthesis Duo and anything with them is just too cute and now that its malencholic it implies stuff thats not so happy ahhh--(basically Ariieya Senpie is one of my goddesses and I love her art and BBB too screw you-)

Anyway, onto the art
I remember using the blur tool way too much, especially with the lighting, even when I didn't need it. As said in the Mars one, I don't like full cell shading, but this piece made me realize I don't like soft shading. Shading with a fade style brush is my prefered choice
Thought I still really like my work with the the scarf
Also, I put way too much unnecessary gold lighting, like way too much, and I don't like it
Also also, I forgot the eyebrows, and I hate that fact. I frikin despise it

So yeah, I'm not drawing in this shading style again

Mah boi Spring being precious

I don't have much to say about this, I'm honestly quite proud of this, my only complaint is that I kept the lineart black. After this piece and the Look Who Got A New Mask one, I started coloring my lines, and yeah, usually they're better than plain black lines
So as a piece thats suppose to be nice and warm, harsh black lineart isn't really gonna go well with the theme

Wow bashing this and the previous piece was surprisingly fun. I only made them about a month ago and yet my tastes have already changed
Goes to show how much you can improve in a small matter of time

Not exactly an art piece but its my Art vs Artist thing and it shows both my traditional and digital art together

And now, a new piece I recently finished

Yeah I decided to make these stickmen characters inspired by UnknownSpy's one from her series thing World of None and some japanese ones I find on youtube

That would explain why I went with a more anime style with this

I'm pretty proud of this, especially with the wings, considering its my first time drawing a fully detailed pair and shading it

I'm also proud of the background, its my first time drawing a cloud and I think I did well(the background is at the top next to the vid)
Yeah its not the best but to me its a good start

Now onto the redraws

Ey the play time one

This one is actually the first of the 3 pieces I did in a row, and this is when I first decided to use the Genius Pen for the lineart(cuz I decided to force myself to try most of Ibis Paint's brushes, and Ibis has ALOT of brushes)
Another new brush I used is the Watercolor Edge, which I used for some parts of the blood and black around the eyes
This is also the first time I colored the lineart
Even tho this took hours, I consider this lazy as I really didn't care much about the proportions
But overall, I'm quite proud of this and I learned alot of things while drawing it

And finally

Yes this is a lazy sketch but whatever

It mainly just shows my improvement in lighting, cuz boi those rays are much more heavenly
I may complete this but I'm already super stressed at the moment cuz I have so much stuff to worry about and to draw
It sucks

But yeah about the art, now that know about the filters, instead of lazily using the blur tool, I just used the lens blur filter even tho I can'y really figure it out..
Also yes, the brush of the lineart is still the genius pen
Also a little note, for the bird stickmen one, I actually heavily edited the genius pen so its more of a textured dip pen

I really appreciate everyone who decided to stick with me ans this book despite all the weird shit I post, it really warms my heart

And looking back, I can really appreciate how far I've come with my art. From anatomically incorrect ponies, to weird almost mary suey OCs, to more anatomically incorrect stuff
