Heyo guys, I haven't updated in a while

Blame procrastination

But yeah, this book is ending in like- 1 more chapter, so I decided to make this special

I'll be comaparing my reletively old art to my new ones

I have like 4 A5 sketchbooks which I like to call the limelight series(thats the brand of these sketchbooks), I really like the content of sketchbook 2 and 3 cuz they have really interesting ideas from past me, however I'm only adding pics from the 1st and 2nd sketchbook plus some other smaller ones from before that cuz I'm lazy

This first part will mainly be traditional art, 5 pics from the old sketchbooks from around mid to late 2018 to early 2019(I'm bad at keeping track of time), 5 pics from sketchbook 1(early 2019), 5 pics from sketchbook 2(mid 2019), and 5 pics from now

Good? Good

Now onto the old sketchbooks(not in order cuz I have no idea what the timeline is-)

(Yeah they're all gonna like this cuz they only orient themselves correctly if I slightly crop some off or change the staturation by 1 and I took way too many photos of sketchbooks 1 and 2 and I'm not editing them all-)

Also don't mind the fucking hips or legs back then I drew way too many guys with wide hips and legs

Basically I was just bad at drawing legs

Its White Pearl and it also looks pretty decent compared to some of the other old art in these sketchbooks so I'm assuming this is later in the timeline

Its 2 old OCs which if you have been following me for a while you would know one of them is named Aqua

Also I remembered that I decided that this was gonna be the kind of style my art would be(cartoonish if you couldn't guess) until I got introduced to Hetalia by my friends Missu-Otaku and JCForeverOtaku and I had to forcably change my style just so I can draw the characters

In hindsight cartoony wouldn't have worked for me anyway so shoutout to Hetalia for changing my art direction before I had to painstakingly realize that a cartoony artstyle isn't for me viaa series of episodes of low self-esteem

This was actually for one of PotatoSquared_15's books which I'm not saying the name of cuz I'm pretty sure that Tatos has slight PTSD from writing that thing

Now onto the 1st sketchbook!
I took about 50 pictures but I'm only using 5

And unlike the first 5, these are in order

Ey look its the time when I wasn't actively avoiding Steven Universe because of its trashy fanbase-

A non-blockey looking Guardian and Elder Guardian

I remember that I liked to call them spikey sperm and I'm not exactly wrong-

I stared at a photo of Zekrom for way too long in order to draw them

But overall I'm pretty proud of this

Don't worry I have some much better art of her in my 3rd sketchbook who's legs aren't 2 meaty sausages and instead are twigs just like in the game-

So yeah, onto the 2nd sketchbook!

I really love this one cuz its the sketchbook I had when I started watching BNHA and fell in love with the series and had alot of ideas for OCs and AUs, one of which I already showed you in the form of the WitchHunt AU

But its not JUST BNHA, at the same time I was gathering ideas for a world with their own gods and races and magic systems and stuff, so ideas for that also pop up alot there

I'm hoping in my new book, I can show all of my pics of the sketchbook cuz I want to get my ideas out there
But alas, for now I'm only using 5
And trust me, picking those 5 was hard

Hey look its arguably my 2 most favorite characters back then

This is a quirk idea for an OC who's quirk is called Hallucinate

If you can't read the small ass text or the bad handwriting, just ask me and I'll reply to you what it basically says

I had like- 5 other quirk ideas jotted down in that sketchbook and 7 more that I still remember but haven't recorded

Of course not everything in this book was BNHA so here is a life goddess concept

Honestly today, this is probably not how I would envision a life deity, but its interesting to know how much my though process has changed in just 1 year

I was so much better at drawing Tokoyami back then

Like I tried drawing him again but I just failed each time in my opinion-

Is it bad I still remember how I wanted these quirks to work?

So since there's nothing holding me back, heres each quirk in like 1 or 2 sentences

The top left OC has a firebreathing quirk that only works if they eat something spicey. The more spicy, the more powerful the flame is

The top right one has a quirk where instead of hair, they have silvery porcupine-like quills on their head which they can pluck out and use as either hand-held or throwing weapons

The bottom right one's quirk has been described as... gross when I told my aunt(well technically first cousin twice-removed) about it this OC can grow and shrink their fingernails to use like claws or ropes. No they don't really break as easily as normal nails but are also slightly more flexible

And the last OC has an electric eel kind of quirk, they can discharge electricity just like Kaminari(except they can direct their electricity instead of discharging it in all directions) but they also have better mobility in the water, and because of physics and the nature of their quirk, they're electricity is stronger in the water or if the environment is damp. Tho I like to imagine that despite the fact he's immune to his own electricity, he's affected slightly more by electric shocks than the average person, and because of physics again, more so in water. Idk just a weakness to balance things out

So yeah... that was my OC machine ramble--

But yeah, now onto the new art!

I actually had to edit the photo to be a little more saturated cuz my camera sucks I had to in order to stay as true to the actual piece as possible

A full sketch dump which was mainly to practice drawing anthro animal characters but still includes the humanoid goddess Nut along with the actual furry gods-

Also this was for an art trade with PumpkingxAngel(I think- bad memory foljs) and I'm actually currently doing another art trade with them but I'm like- more than 2 weeks late by now but they are being a frikin saint by understanding that I have alot of shit going on in my life rn

A more casual piece to contrast the ones up there

Fun fact, I actually drew that top one while the paper was slightly tilted without my knowledge so when I realized it was tilted and I oriented the page correctly, the pose... just fell apart, so tilt your devices to the right a bit until Doodle's head is roughly 90° when viewing this piece for best results

So... how did I improve between the 2nd sketchbook and now? Or from the old sketchbooks to now?

In my opinion, for the 2nd sketchbokm, the biggest improvement is anatomy, especially the arms, hands, ans hips

I mean, my arms in the 2nd sketchboom most of the time were sticks with nubs at the end, but now my arms are more defined and the hands look much better. Yes drawing hands is still hard but its much easier than back then

And about the hips, yeah this was also a problem witht the old sketchbooks, that I draw shoulders so thin but hips and legs so wide in a funnel-like shape, even for guys. The 2nd and 3rd sketchbooks were me starting to improve from that, shrinking the hips and- more obvious recently- expanding the shoulders.

I mean like- I have a sketch of Grian in the 2nd sketchbook with those funnel hips but it happened only like- once or twice(and by that I mean hips as large as the ones in the old sketchbooks) so I was definately improving

So yeah, if this seemed rushed, it kinda was. Wattpad wasn't cooperating with me for the 1st half of this either because I haven't typed anything here in 2 weeks or because my phones keeps saying that I have too many files and apps may stop working properly eVEN THO I HAVE LIKE 3 GB OF SPACE LEFT--

Sooo... yeah, the 2nd part will come maybe in a few days I don't really know cuz I've been so frikin tired during the day lately for some reason. Like- I have absolutely 0 energy, so I'm less productive even tho its almost October and my plans are demanding me to be productive, so I'm also quite stressed.

But whatever, this book is also gonna officially end once I publish part 2 of this and I'll make a new art and randomness book to continue this. If you want to make sure you see and follow the new book, just tell me and I'll tag you in the first chapter
