Never Assume
Mew flew, a bit hesitantly, into the almost completely hidden pent/den. It was... Really well hidden to say the least. Even the cave that led to the secret base was dark and droopy, and it was hard to find the set of walls that led to the secured home.
"Who wa... Whoo wa!" Mew hummed a tune and levitated without a care into the large area, the stream indicating his adore was near. She let her eyes widen slightly, and floated slowly past the waterfalls and crystallite rocks that led to the entrance of where he called home.
"He must've found this place... How pretty," She let the light from the lanterns and candles scattered across the wall light up the area around her. His home... Her determining that he set the lights up only, was in one of the truly prettiest areas. It was much better than her lousy room in the realm, or even her dull life with her Uncle. She had heard stories and remembered this cave from a family of Eevees that lived in this very cave, of course long long ago. This waterfall had been around for decades, and she remembered only seeing it one other time.
She found herself leaning over to it, the steams collected into the river valley that flowed under the cave. She smiled, reaching her hand out and touching the constantly flowing steam. The water was sort of warm, but not necessarily warm enough for bathing in. It was like a perfect swimming area for a few hours, how lucky Mewtwo was. "Perhaps one day He'll let me visit and we can swim in the waterfall..." She, again, didn't understand the meaning of arrogance or idiotic-ness. For this thought seemed really possible to her. As her interest faded, shifting toward the secured doors that were engraved the wall of the cave, she dug herself away from the scenery and to, what she knew as, his kingdom.
The doors were red, standing out from the rocky purple-ish walls surrounding them. She reached out her hand, twisting the red knob until she heard the 'click' and the door opened without hesitation. It was a bit strange to her why he would want to live in such a nice house... He just didn't seem like the type to want to live in luxury, more so the strength craving arrogant type.
Mew shook everything off, a red carpet greeting her arrival. There was kitchens on both sides of her, a large couch at the end of the hall she was in, and two directions going either way at the end of the hall by the couch.
"No way he built this... So pretty," She looked around her, finding elegant artwork on the walls, valuable artifact all over the place. She found a sword, shiny and a golden color just a bit ahead, hanging on the wall above the couch.
"Shoot... Where do I look first..." She began to get a bit... Serious. If she didn't hurry, he would easily finish his plan, and game over.
"You may have distracted me with your taste of quality living Mewtwo, but you will not distract me any more!" She sucked in her chest, this all still being a type of game physically for her. Mentally however, she knew the stakes of her success. She took a deep, quick breath and flew around the room. She saw nothing... No machine, no technology. She then double, triple checked every single speck of the room, making sure there weren't any secret switches or buttons that she didn't catch the first time. Mew sighed a bit and checked another area of the large base.
Time was ticking, and it seemed to Mew like she was stuck in a useless battle. No way could she search the whole house in enough time. It had already been hours and she had only accomplished two rooms.
"Hoo..." She stopped and relaxed, breathing lightly. "I can do this... I can... Just relax..." She slowly looked back at the areas she already searched and then at the exceeding amounts that she hadn't. Instead of continuing where she left off, she flew a bit... Passing a few hallways.
"If I were a switch... Where would I be..." Silly as it seemed, this had proven to help her countless times. She closed her eyes, just simply letting her mind guide her. She went down a few hallways, touching a few curious spots, and ended up in a large, bombarded area.
"Bingo..." She looked at each speck in the room closely.
'Tick, tock, tick, tock' The clock blared its warning cries, and Mew picked up her pase.
"Please... Don't say it was in one of the other places..." All she could do now was hope. Hope that she could find this... Machine. All she had done was read his mind... That was what she was going off of. She knew it was a machine like structure... And it was in the 'den' as he called it. It would be false to say she knew what she was looking for... But she had an idea.
"Is... That it?" She hit a dull spot in the wall, breaking through it. Sadly though, she found nothing. She was about to continue looking, until...
'CRASH!' The sound of the entrance to the mansion crashed, and Mew could already hear the invader's footsteps throughout the entrance area.
"Uh oh spaghettio's!" She whispered quietly and hid her aura the best she could. She bit her paw a bit, his footsteps drawing nearer and nearer. She looked at the room, the mess she created piled up and scattered everywhere.
Without a second thought, she flew to the small hole in the wall. She tried to put a few loose items in front of it to cover herself up, but she only managed to hide the sides a bit.
"Grr... Come out!" Mewtwo noticed all the out of place items and artifacts, and his growing concern started to take the best of him. 'He's heading to this room first... There must really be something important in here. Unless he's just randomly choosing to come here first.' She looked slightly out of the hole in the wall, her mouth curled upwards in an anxious smile.
He searched the area, finding no one. Mew slightly looked out of the hole just as Mewtwo entered the room, finding him looking the other direction. She smiled to herself, moving her eyes a bit closer up. Her gentle, soft Blue eyes glistened innocently, and she watched Mewtwo scramble around. There was something about the way Mewtwo acted now that fascinated her, the way he just sort of frantically searched around. He as an individual fascinated her, and she only watched patiently for any sign of a 'secret passageway' to be revealed.
"No!" He kicked a pile of rubble across the floor, revealing a slight un-pattern in the floor. Mew slightly looked more intently at him, watching as he effortlessly pressed his foot to the center of a floor panel. The floor opened up into a staircase and Mewtwo backed away from it quietly. "You're not going to get away..." He whispered to himself, however loud enough for Mew to hear. She had him so confused, it was almost humorous to her.
Mewtwo hid his energy, creeping to the first stair. Despite his approach and size, he was very quiet. His stealth was great, and he crept downwards. Mew quietly flew out, flying up to him and stopping behind him. Since she was levitating, no audible noise could be made by her. And she stayed up high, just so that in case if he did turn around she wouldn't be in his line of sight. She had to go down there with him, or else his 'plan' would work.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Mewtwo slowly descended down the set of stairs that led into the lower level of his little hideout, his panic turning into relief as he saw everything the way he had left it. He ran a finger along the walls of the chamber like room, letting his hand rest on his newest creation.
"That... Was close... Good thing I hid this place," He sighed a bit, overjoyed that his creation wasn't destroyed. He was smart in taking extra precautions, despite the house location being so secure anyways. It seemed odd to go through such extreme measures to hide a room in a house in a cave... But anyone could potentially break in, despite how odd it sounded.
He knew of the ability to hide aura of course, because he was doing it. However, he never processed that the intruder could hide aura too, and he was sort of convinced in the idea that the intruder left after taking some of his easily made decorations. He didn't really care to much, more focused on full filling his plan. He had found everything that he put inside of his house scattered by the waterfall, and he only assumed he had found some sort of buried treasure. He just hung a few things up and used the layout of most human houses to create his own. He himself couldn't describe why he lived in all the artifacts... It was as if he slightly liked the idea of 'settling'.
Mewtwo walked over to a large screen he had set up, this one he had re-created based on one of the Team Rocket computers he had seen. Mew was peaking over the stair case, holding her mouth to keep in a few childish giggles. For some reason this was quite fun to her, like a late night story time under the cozy feeling of the fireplace. She was enjoying this a lot.
Mewtwo set up a cushioned, firm rolling chair and sat in front of a monitor. He stretched his fingers slightly, then took no time in positioning himself over the computer.
"Monitor... South side!" The large screen, which was connected to the computer, displayed an image, colors varying brightly off of a certain area.
"Yes... That's set up correctly. Next one?" He moved on and on, checking every spot he had visited to ensure that everything was set up correctly.
"And lastly... Monitor to North-Park!" The screen showed a picture of the park, a part of the screen glowing brightly and displaying heat signatures, ensuring that he had successfully done his job.
"Finally... No more distractions! I win," He had a prideful, menacing smile as he spun the chair back around, the computer behind him lighting up. The image was rotating, green background with glowing patches moving along the image. Mewtwo took a deep breath, relaxing against the wall of the room, closing his eyes pridefully.
"Pokemon will now live in peace without these hu-" At that instant, the prior hiding and quiet Mew made her entrance. She fired an Energy ball first at the machine, then the next at Mewtwo. Mewtwo held his face and closed his eyes, and Mew focused on the machine. The smoke and impact of the attack stunned Mewtwo enough for her her to slowly make an approach and destroy the computers. She had a big, toothy grin too, which made it all the more better. Mewtwo clearly got a glimpse of the happy smile, and he felt like yelling out in rage.
"WHAT IS !?" He desperately looked for the intruder, holding his eyes and yelling out threats. Mew only ignored him kindly, blastingthe machine up until it was so battered the wires were buzzing and sticking out the battered top.
"Huff..." She panted quietly, and all at that moment she realized the other mon in the room. She backed away, her back to the wall and readied a quick, easy Shadow Ball. Mewtwo opened his eyes, coughing a bit from the dust and dirt that now floated around him and the room.
"Who... Are you! Come out now!" He wiped his eyes, the dust sort of hiding Mew. "Hehe," Her voice was playful, and threw the Shadow Ball at the already destroyed machine to make it blow up. The smoke dialed down, Mewtwo only slowly turning around to meet the face of the intruder.
"You..!" Mewtwo growled, standing straight up. He removed his hands from his eyes, staring with such a rage that it seemed he was staring into her very soul and scorching it.
Mew looked at him, smiling. "I've spoiled your plans once more, point for me,"
"You come into my space... Spy on me... And now mock me! You'll pay for this!" He was beyond mad. He had victory so close to his grasp... And then it was so quickly taken away from him.
Mew looked up, biting her lip a bit. Why did he have to be so mad? Couldn't he just laugh it off? "It's okay, you can just make another one and then I can destroy it again," She could see clearly how fed up he was, and it did indeed intimate her cheery, clueless attitude she had. Mewtwo growled.
"You have your bad guys all mixed up! The humans deserve death and suffering! I could've gladly gave that to them, but instead I tried to be nice and give them a chance to be a pokemon, an actual civilized species! It is you who stands in the way!" There was barrier of shock for Mew, him raising his voice. It was almost instantly after, him teleporting to her and jabbing her painfully in the jaw. It was so sudden... And Mew whimpered out and crashed into the wall next to her. A loud 'crash' was heard on her impact, more debris and swirling clouds of dust staining the room.
Mew hackled a bit, coughing and spitting out the slightest tint of red, creamy blood. "Let the humans be! They can't touch you anymore!" This wasn't a possibility in her mind... She was being attacked. And... She was scared, actually feeling like perhaps this wasn't a game. She left her eyes closed, the dust mixing in with her wounds.
"Anymore? What do you know!" He wiped his eyes, trying to locate the smaller creature as quickly as possible. Mew didn't know how to respond. Perhaps if the situation wasn't so urgent, she could just explain everything. But right now, she could barely breath due to the atmosphere.
"Enough... I know enough!" She felt a little strength surface up to her bones, and she retracted herself from the wall. Mew zipped.and zipped around, using the large, really large basement like area to her advantage. She didn't know how to use teleport sadly, and she was confused as to why he hated her so much. What did she ever do to him anyways to make him hate her to begin with... Absolutely nothing. Mewtwo scanned with his mind, but still couldn't find anything. The dust and foggy atmosphere was at a dangerous level, and it was hard to even see your hands in front of you.
Mew thought about what to do. As she looked ahead at the foggy abyss, her nerve started growing. She couldn't hear much of anything due to the chaos of her mind and the many things blocking her ears out. Mewtwo was the same. He couldn't even hear his own growls of frustration in the fact of losing the intruder.
Mew took the situation and used it in her advantage. Although she couldn't see an exit, she now had the opportunity to search around and not be seen. She levitated high in the air, her eyes closed to prevent any further damage to her eyesight, and her arms extended wide. She felt and felt and felt, Mewtwo, in which she didn't know, doing the same. Luckily, she was fortunate and felt her paws on the ceiling... Well floor to the other level. She blasted and blasted it, her barely even being able to see or hear the ceiling crumbling over her. She quickly flew up, up and out of the cellar.
Mewtwo was still stuck down there. He had just simply thought of this house idea, and crafted it all together with his mind in the course of a day. Never had he thought his design would backfire so much. After minutes atop of minutes of non stop searching and feeling around, Mewtwo gave out an angry grunt and his body glowed. It kept glowing and glowing until it burst, the whole room blowing up with him. Now the ceiling was wiped, and he quickly looked and looked.
"N-No... Grr!" He clenched his fists. Mew was gone for real this time, and he this time was sure of it. He did win in a sense... He had wiped away that playful smile she always held. But what kind.of prize is that...
How could she have slipped away from him so easily? How could she of just magically escaped such an extreme situation? To Mewtwo, it was crazy that she was even able to survive a simple blow, none the less escape from him.
He let his fist fall, his expression plain. There was the ruins of his lab, along with part of the room he crafted above the basement.
He now thought about how he was going to fix all that and plan out a new plan. For it would be weeks... Possibly months before he got another chance like that. And, possibly, Mew had already reported back to the other Legendary, and they were all coming after him too.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Mew coughed and coughed, her form invisible and her power hidden. This was the worst possible time a human could try and take their chances at her. She sat there and laid, until she felt the power of a not-so-unfamiliar person still back at the house. This brought her the intimidation she needed to get up and continue her escape.
"Cresselia! Cresselia!" She flew right up to the Legendary, her form dusty and bruised up. She held a face of concern, a face of seriousness.
"You must see! You must see what just happened!" She placed a hand on Cresselia's wing, something Cresselia didn't try and resist. Creaselia watched as image after image flashed through her head from Mew's head to her own.
Cresselia only stared at Mew, a bit confused.
"Was this today? Are you hurt? Why didn't you ignore him?" Mew, her eyes fixed on Cresselia and the other Legendary piling in, sighed.
"Please... I'll say everything... Just listen!"
