Mika x Kara - Love to pay the bills
"Bills. Wonderful," Kara said sarcastically when she walked into the door. "I wish our wedding gifts had been cash instead of vases and decorations we broke on the first day here," she casually said to Mika.
"Those cases were my f-fault, me a-and my b-bad luck, but it's o-okay Kara. You should b-be getting your publisher cheques soon," she said from the couch.
"I'd better!" Kara thought about her book. it wasn't a best seller or anything , but it was enough to pay most of the bills for the small house. Mika didn't have to work, but she did have a part time at a convenience store to soothe Kara's worries over bills. With her contribution, you always had enough money for everything.
"I'm sorry..." Kara sighed, plopping down on the couch with Mika. "I get so worked up over this..."
Mika wrapped an arm around Kara's waist, pulling her close. "It's gonna b-be fine. We'll have t-these bills paid as soon a-as soon as you'd l-like and then y-you won't be stressed a-anymore!"
"But I'll be stressed just knowing that bills will come again!"
"And they'll b-be payed again. It's how t-the world works. Plus, you k-know that your parents w-would be o-over the moon t-to give you some m-money. You've been so independent t-that they would feel l-like parents again if they helped."
"Mhm." Kara murmured slightly and laid her head on Mika's shoulder. "Love you..."
"You're staying up too l-late working on your next book," Mika playfully scolded Kara.
"I'm making the dough, Mika." Kara smiled. " I do what I want."
"You're such a weirdo." Mika laughed.
...
Kara woke up to find that Mika wasn't beside her, making Kara panic. "Mika! Mika!" Kara frantically stood up from the couch and looked around the living room. Terrible scenarios flashed through her mind, almost all leading to the death of her wife.
"Um, K-kara?" Mika's thin arms embraced Kara. "It's okay n-now. I o-only went to the k-kitchen."
"I thought you had..." Kara's voice was shaky. "I don't even know..."
"It's okay..." she cooed. "Let's go finish m-my soup." Mika pushed back from the hug. Kara nodded.
"You're the best housewife," Kara said as the two walked back in the kitchen.
