Things Are Getting Better

I'm so sorry for not updating sooner!!! I was caught up in finals and some other things. I never meant to abandon my story!!!

I'm cool. I'm cool. I'm cool. I will remain calm. I will not let my fangirl show. I am on a mission to save my friends. The world is depending on me. They are just regular humans.

This was the mantra I was chanting in my head. I was freaking walking next to Jungkook!!! Jimin and J-hope were behind me and the rest were walking in front. We were moving stealthily as the boys were constantly checking their surroundings. They weren't as stealthy or as good at sensing danger as I was, but I had more practice.

I had explained my situation to them and they promised to take me to their base temporarily. I just needed a place to stay and some supplies so that I could get my friends back.

They disappeared from the media about seven months ago. No one had questioned it too much as many Kpop bands had left due to the disaster. Who knew they were mutants, hiding from the Vulture. I had spaced out thinking about what had happened to the other Kpop groups or what BTS had been up to when I felt someone tapping my shoulder.

I looked up and saw Jin holding up a cloth. "I'm sorry, but you need to put this on for the rest of the way. This is just for safety measures you see. We don't really know you yet, so please understand."

I nodded. "I understand. Don't worry. I would do the same thing, so who would I be to not follow my own rules?"

"Thank you! Tell me if it hurts." He tied the cloth around my eyes gently, but firm enough that I could only see black. "I will guide you."

Jin put his hands on my shoulders, slightly pushing me forward and telling me where to step. I didn't need his help for this, but I wasn't going to tell him that! I kept my ears alert for any sounds out of the ordinary, but everything was normal. Every now and then though, I would feel a force jerk forward from the front and then return, so I assumed one of them has enhanced speed to scout the way ahead. That was probably defeated all of my captors.

Someone started humming a song I didn't recognize. Finally the silence was broken! It was a very catchy tune I would have danced to had I not forces myself to remain calm and alert. Someone else started to join the first one.

"Taehyung! Jimin! Be quiet. Someone will hear you," someone whispered.

"But hyung! It's too quiet. Plus she will think we are boring if we trudge in silence the whole way home."

"V is right, Suga. I know it's dangerous, but we can defend ourselves. We've mostly got our abilities under control," Jimin explained.

Suga huffed. "Fine, but you and V still have much to work on, and we can't risk anything to go wrong in the middle of a fight."

Jimin and V started to hum again but softer. After a few more minutes the group stopped. I could only make out the shuffles of four people's feet besides Jin's and two others behind us before I heard metal scraping against rock.

"Careful," Jin whispered in my ear, "you have to go down some stairs first before I can take off the blindfold." He gently pushed me forward until I found the stairs and began my descent. I counted 54 steps, and it bothered me that it wasn't at least a multiple of five. I finally heard the last person close the door on the top before climbing down all the stairs, skipping every other step.

Jin lifted the blindfold from my eyes so I could adjust to the dim lighting of the hallway. There were all seven of them, staring at me, waiting for me to speak.

"Annyeonghaseyo!" V approached. "I'm Kim Taehyung!"

I bowed and shook his hand. "Annyeonghaseyo. I'm Irene Lewis. Nice to meet you all!"

"Do you know who we are?" Rap Monster asked.

"Ne! You are BTS! Do you know how hard it was not to squeal?! I never thought I would meet you all in person though."

"Would you like an autograph?" J-hope approached. "It's been so long since we've talked to a fan. I would like to do something for a fan who still loves us even now."

"Please! I would love that very much!!!"

"We need to get out of the hallway then. Why don't we go sit down and talk." Rap Monster led the way down the dim hallway to the big metal door at the end.

I was wondering how they survived in such a dim and dreary cave these seven months when I saw the bright interior of their home. There was a regular house interior with a kitchen, living room, dining room and dozens of doors for what seemed like individual bedrooms. All of it was decorated so colorfully by the boys, one would forget there was no sunlight down here. All of it seemed too big though for just seven people, more like it was meant for about twenty people. I quickly shut my mouth from gaping. All the boys ran to the couches, taking off their combat gear.

"Come! Sit!" Jin invited me, patting the space beside him on the couch.

"Ne. So are you the only ones here at this base?"

"Ne," Rap Monster responded,"we've been hiding down here for around seven months."

"How did you find this place? I mean, it was obviously not meant for only seven people. Does it belong to someone else?"

They were all silent, staring at the ground as if in mourning. "You don't have to tell me. Mianhaeyo if I made you sad.... Anyways, what is the plan now? I would like to stay here and form a plan to find my friends if that's fine with you. None of you have to help. I'm just asking for a place to stay and supplies. In return I can train you all since I have quite a bit of experience in training mutants."

Rap Monster looked at me. "You are welcome to stay here and use our supplies to find your friends. We can help in any way you like, and your offer is much appreciated. We never had any real training."

"Gamsahabnida!!! I will try to help you to the best of my abilities! I won't be a burden, I promise! Please take care of me!"

"I'll show you around the place!" J-hope seemed eager to speak. He took my arm and pulled me off the couch and dragged me over to the kitchen.

"Don't scare her off!" Jungkook shouted.

I chuckled. This was all too adorable, but I was afraid of becoming too attached and never wanting to leave. I needed to be polite but never too involved. Karina, Katya, Alex, Tamar and Xandria were my top priority.
